Could have watched hours and hours more of this absolutely brillant. One thing ive notice with benn watching all his interviews, his stories and views never change a very real honest man Just really good to have new additions to those stories here
Cracking interview, nigel benn national treasure, one of the best fighters ever, when explaining to people what grit, heart, determination mean should just watch the mcellan fight, glad hes now got peace in his life totally deserves it, ❤
Benn v McClellan is burnt on my mind, it was both the most brutal scrap and biggest display of heart i've ever seen, I think it took something out of him, especially by the time he fought Collins. Glad he's got his health and living a good older age. I wish him all the best.
This man is an inspiration to many including myself . The trauma from loss at a young age and other things i relate to like nigel. Grew up watching him fight as my dad was a massive fan of him also , and when i read his book as a teen i learnt more about the man and his struggles, and greatness.
God is the only Lord not Jesus. Jesus is our messiah, prophet and Messenger, not the son of God like these pagans claim. Even the word Christian is nonsense? Why because our messiah Jesus a jew never called a single follower of his this pathetic word. Fun fact it was labelled by European Italians and Greeks and later adopted by some haters e.g. some jew sects who hated the disciples. Former Christian. Left that blasphemy in 2009
I’m 35. Never watched Benn live. But he’s so magnetic. Has an attitude which represents something in the British mindset. So likeable. So relatable. Very authentic.
Like you Simon, Nigel was the one boxer I really felt pride watching. A truly, honest, ridiculously tough fighter, who I was proud boxed for Britain. So your comment was well made.
My favourite fighter growing up in the 80's and over the past couple of years have had the pleasure of meeting him a couple of times at events. They say never meet your heroes but Nigel was everything I hoped he would be. A real nice man. So glad he turned the corner and here today still banging the drum.
This is great, Simon. To get on such an esteemed guest, to tackle issues frankly and get the truth out there. Keep going strong, and good luck for 2025 in all that you do.
I'm only 27 years old and wasn't even born when Benn fought McClellan but I remember watching the documentary about the fight with my parents as a 14 year old kid 'The Fight Of Their Lives', and being hooked on boxing from that moment onwards. Benn is a British boxing legend that will always live on 🇬🇧🥊♥️
Great interview I was lucky enough to be at both of the Ben v Eubanks fight thought Ben won the second one saying that as a Eubanks fan great to see that Nigel had got his life back on track more power to him
Fantastic interview. Props to Simon for the harder questions. I remember watching the Maclellan fight live and just being amazed at Benn and his steadfast will to win.
My sporting hero when I was a kid.if I had too fight someone I’d pretend I was Nigel and get so much confidence off it looking back now it’s laughable but I loved Nigel Benn and he gave me so much confidence in myself thanks Nigel
Met nigel about 16 or 17 years ago ,at the airport in france on a trip to disney land paris he was an absaloute gentleman had a chat and pictures ,top man❤
Those were the days, when Nigel Benn give the shores of the Uk some of the best fights we have ever seen, he was top quality and defines no retreat, no surrender, and he won that second fight with Eubanks 100%

I love Nigel Benn with all my soul. My greatest boxing memory was watching him beat McClellan, mainly because before the fight the press were making out as if Nigel would be a lamb to the slaughter. When McClellan failed to rise for the count I've never felt so elated and proud to be British, it was one of the most beautiful moments of my childhood. Tragic for McClellan how it ended up, but it's the fight game and these guys know what they're signing up for.
What a fighter Nigel was a true warrior never ducked anybody, I was lucky enough to meet him a few years back at an event, when my son asked Nigel to sign a picture for him, some fella who had something to do with the event turned round and said Nigel isn’t here to sign things and hasn’t the time anyway. Nigel turned to the fella and said if it wasn’t for the fans i wouldn’t be where I am today and you certainly wouldn’t be here, well you should of seen the look on that fella’s face.Nigel made sure he had time for anyone that night, top geezer.
Wouldn't say that. He didn't fight roy Jones jr, Julian Jackson, thomas hearns all come to mind too. His highlight fights are Gerald McClellan and Eubank Sr. He was at the end of his career against steve Collins.
Simon nailed it when he spoke about being “proud” of Nigel when he fought Gerald Macleanon. I was about 14 at the time and watched it at home with my parents. It has to be one of the best fights ever and was such an emotional rollercoaster of a fight. Everyone sat in that living room was glued to the tv screen, cheering Nigel on, who hung on for dear life and showed how big his balls were.
Loved watchin Ben , ringwalk " I've got the power " by Snap , like Tyson , he had many beat before he stepped in the ring. Propper warrior went out on his shield a couple of times , respect.
Grate interview 👍🏼

That's a sign of low intelligence and low mental growth. Nigel not the sharpest tool in the box.
Benn was the baddest boxer in the 90s, the dark destroyer, absolutely world class
A really likeable bloke. Fair play for him talking honestly about difficult subjects
Not Simon I'm guessing 😂
Nigel Benn was and still is my Sporting Hero! Nobody else has had me stood in front of the TV as if I was in the ring with him. Amazing boxer.
👍

As a kid this man scared me more than Tyson. He was a savage and brilliant warrior.
Nigel's courage and heart was and is insane. He is not a boxer- he was always a fighter. The two are not the same. Stay blessed in the Lord, Nigel.
He fainted after the fight to dodge a drug test with the biggest drug dealers in Essex in his corner

Met him in 2010 when I was in hmp dovegate. Top bloke.
I'm 24 and feel the same way. Him and Eubank also. I love watching these guys, how they present themselves and rewatching their careers.
I respect his toughness and respect him as a fighter but i don't find him likeable or relatable at all.
