I think she needs more to be top tier yea. Shes mid after this patch but i think thats fine. The hyper rush downs and hardcore grapplers are never top tier because people hate playing against them, shes in a better spot than the grapplers
I suppose but I’m a 1600 MR Kim and I think while this doesn’t make her top tier these changes are fun giving her more routes and overall just making her A little better while making a lot of the cast worst isn’t so bad. She certainly didn’t get the ryu treatment but we will take what we can get.
Kimberly will be solid. The reduction on the pushback of her moves is really good. As it not only helps with whiffing but also helps for mainting pressure Im loving the EX Bushin Senpukyaku into super as it makes opponent's more respectful when it comes to jump ins. The added damage on the SA2 is just an added plus. Knowing that she can easily go into her SA2 off of a anti air is hella good. Plus the new combo routes you can take. Very underrated buff. The Vagabond into ex air grab is what i am most excited about. This now gives her a more reliable way to setplay at midscreen. In all i think that she will be strong. She gained stuff that was quality in my opinion and she has become more consistent. Kimberly is one of those characters that you have to be cautious with because she has so many tools. Not being careful with how you buff her could lead to her steam rolling very easy. She is a leaking pipe that can explode easily.
Yea i completely agree with this assessment. She will never be top tier, they’ll keep her in check and buff in small steps. I think the od tatsu changes are huge. An anti air into level 2…and also a light confirm into level 2…and the od tatsu does more damage by itself as well….plus the od air grab available from hp, very nice. Middle of the pack but thats good enough to actually win for a specialist imo!
these were more qol changes nothing major i doubt this will change much tbh but still nice to have ryu and aki on the other hand have received way better buffs those 2 defo gonna rise up in tier lists
Agreed. I do think the od tatsu buff is great, now you can actually do some dmg from a light confirm (clk, clp confirm). Because that does like no dmg if you do light vagabond
The setplay changes are pretty huge imo. Being able to lvl 1 without losing cans, and being able to get damage off anti airs makes her very scary and now opponents have to respect her options more
Yea, well maybe she can get more can opportunities with the lvl1 buff. Though I think to REALLY help her, she needed a mid screen option to get the can action going (like a can throw cancel from mp+hp for example) They wont let her be top tier though, its not gonna happen, shes the wrong archetype

She did get a damage nerf on her OD air grab "Overdrive Nue Twister: 1. Changed combo scaling from 10% to 20%"
Ah that sucks! I missed that. No need to nerf the dmg on the 1 good dmg move on the lowest dmg char in the game..
All of her Buffs were Minor n Miniscule.
All together in totality this wont change anything for her. They are welcomed, but she needed more.

You forgot that she can hold the run move now and it wont cancel for a while. Also she can combo 2 mp to target combo now to

Im over this game... Capcom clearly playing favorites and Im out. This balance patch was no effort and im not waiting another year.
From what I've noticed, Capcom been favoring Kimberly ever since her first trailer intro😆
What were you hoping for? I think character balance is pretty good, but i agree the patch isnt what i hoped either but willing to give it a shot
