One thing I liked about this movie is that none of the characters really redeem themselves. They don't don't give us the typical "this is the good guy, you've gotta root for him". And yet you still find yourself in fear for the robbers.

The scene where she is strung up in his dungeon is one of the most overwhelmingly uncomfortable moments of dread and despair I ever experienced while watching a film. Even a movie like Hostel with all its torture and gore didn't hit quite like that. And the payoff with what happened with the baster was also one of the most vindictively satisfying, too.

really interesting idea that if "money" hadn't said the comment about knowing what was in the basement or even just mentioned wanting the money, they could've gotten away without dying
Now you guys have to check out The Collector! It’s a very similar concept, not quite as well executed, but still very good (and very intense)! Don’t Breathe is absolutely fantastic, in my opinion. It was THE most silent theater experience I’ve ever had.
I actually remember seeing the Evil Dead remake in theaters with my older brother. We actually got free gift certificates at the end of it cause someone in our theater actually fainted during the box cutter licking scene. So, that was a nice bonus for that screening. (Which we'd put to use for when we saw "The Avengers" for a second time after the electricity went out in the theater the first time we tried to see it.)
watching this movie in theathers was an experience, we were all just holding our breaths there was no sound at all coming from the audience lol we were just as terrified of him
I remember seeing this in theaters with my brothers and cousins and everyone the theater had great reactions. It was a great experience. Fedé Alvarez is a great director. I was already a big fan of his Evil Dead remake before I saw this so I was very excited. Panic Room was definitely the biggest inspiration for this movie (even down to the characters) and also has some immaculately directed and edited sequences.

Yes! So happy to see you guys liked this one. If you liked this one HISH should be next. Honestly such a good film utilizing the one location and tense scenes.
A movie that a lot of people have forgotten about is the people under the stairs. There’s always that one house in the neighborhood that your parents told never to not go near and that movie really explores into that premise which I think is cool. Directed by Wes Craven also
Such a brilliant movie. With the Evil Dead remake and Don’t Breathe, Fede Alvarez proves he can build tension and scare the hell out of us at the same time. I look forward to more of his films.
Awesome reaction loved it y’all were great can’t wait to see y’all react to part two 👍😎
really interesting idea that if "money" hadn't said the comment about knowing what was in the basement or even just mentioned wanting the money, they could've gotten away without dying
Now you guys have to check out The Collector! It’s a very similar concept, not quite as well executed, but still very good (and very intense)! Don’t Breathe is absolutely fantastic, in my opinion. It was THE most silent theater experience I’ve ever had.
Best reaction channel on RUclips
Keep it up guys 👍👍
Another brilliant and entertaining video, ta guys
I really enjoyed this film when it came out. I love your break down of the film, enjoy it just as much as your reaction.
The blind guy is also great in VFW, Veterans of foreign War. A real funny and blody peace of film.
Please react to The Descent!
watching this movie in theathers was an experience, we were all just holding our breaths there was no sound at all coming from the audience lol we were just as terrified of him
They’re making a sequel of Don’t Breathe
they are just looking for money. this ending is a perfect ending for this movie.
Yup, They just released the trailer the other day.
The fact that he is blind and so lethal puts him in the top ten of monsters. He doesn't even have a super power like most monsters.
Guyes, I've just subscribed to your channel. I'm loving it. Yuotwo should see Case 39. It's amazing
This is my favorite reaction from you guys so far.
thank you for incredible movie ratings.
It's home alone gone t**ts up haha
The only guy who didn't want to go , went because he was a simp for a girl and he paid the price.
Lol yup. Maybe that should be a life lesson :-/
i would have dipped and called the police if I was him. after hearing that second and third gunshot there's no way I'd have gone back in.
Big up to CinemaRules for actually liking this comment. Respect women (and everybody), but respect yourself most of all and don't be a simp.
Is caring about someone "simping?"
@@d3l3tes00n Idk if your Somme to is genuine, but just in case it is, I’ll say this: it’s perfectly fine to do things for someone, especially if it makes you feel good. But if nothing is ever reciprocated, that just sucks and I think it eventually takes its toll. And that leads to the part about having self respect.
"But he tracked down that other women"
".... oh no"
same
I saw this as part of an "October-marathon" last year and it was one of two movies that kept me at the edge of my seat. The other one was The Green Room. You should watch that too!
This is one of the best modern horrors along with The Descent, The Ring, Hereditary and Midsommar. Great review and reaction video. I'd give this an 8/10 for sure.
Hereditary was great until the head scene. Midsummar was a poor rip off of an old christopher Lee, Edward Woodward film.
@@orangewarm1 Disagree that Midsommar was a "poor rip off" of The Wicker Man. The Wicker Man is a better film, but Midsommar was still a decent entry in its own right. Especially for modern horror.
I highly recommend the French original versions of “Martyrs”, “Inside”, and “High Tension”. They are grotesque and subtitled but well worth it. Miss good horror films like these.
The Holy Trinity of french horror movies. Amen.
High Tension was my intro to that genre of French filmmaking and it was one of my favorites!
Oh god I don't think they could handle these tbh
@@vavedern8860 Martyrs is kinda depressing lol. But the two others are fine. Good gorefest :D
High Tension is bad, trade for Livide or Frontiers XD
It's a great example of where a filmmaker knows he doesn't have much clout, and writes/executes a story that can be told effectively with a tiny budget. I loved it. Tight movie with a novel type of villain.
