TRYHARD Painting a Forgeworld Troggoth Hag

- I have been sitting on this Forgeworld Troggoth Hag for far too long. Looking at the amount of work this resin model was going to take always put me off of the project. BUT, in the last video I did some fun work with Swampy Orks and I really wanted to continue in that theme, so the swampy Hag had to come out! This was an incredible model to paint, and I absolutely recommend picking one up if you can find one. They have been in stock on the FW website as of this recording, but you never know with them. Otherwise they are going for stupid money on eBay.

This was not a paid sponsorship, I was provided a wet palette and painting handle to test. More on the handle later, but the palette is absolutely 10/10 from me!

She's absolutely gorgeous :-) I like the way you found excuses to throw some pink, purple, and orange in there.
All the colors!! Thanks man :)
"gorgeous" lol
That cheeky little starfish. Well done Casey!
Watching this and getting excited for her return to the old world. Beautiful job!
That little pet snotling in the knot hole is hilarious!
Those little details make this model so fantastic.
I had to go back and look, I missed it first time around somehow. lol
Fantastic work Casey, the eye is really something to be proud of!
Thanks! It’s not too often you feel good about something so small :)
excellent job !
That's some Squidmar level painting (especially on the face)! Amazing work.
This turned out so absolutely, disgustingly gorgeous! I love the orange and blue combo, and that eye! Amazing work.
So this is how naked grandma looks like in fantasy world
Just listened to paint bravely and had to drop by to check it out - so much cooler than I even expected!
Nice! Thanks for listening, and comin by to see it :)
I’ve been watching your videos for a few weeks now. Watching your entire process from the sonic cleaner bath to the final rescued outcome is very satisfying. Wonderful work and this one really stepped up your showcase of talent and eye for detail.
Damn this is my favorite thing you have done yet, awesome work
Absolute perfection! Never in my life will I have the balls to do a resin pour on the base of a model i´ve spent that amount of time on.
Top notch work, mate. All the extra time and effort really paid off
It's always a joy for me to watch your videos every time they release, Casey. and this was no exception. She's hideous, and I mean that in the best way! I feel as though I'm reaching a point where my skills are getting to where I actually like about every other mini I paint, and it's because I take my time to focus on details more than ever before. Keep up the great work, sir!
Came here after listening to the paint bravely podcast.
The airbrush detail work always blows me away. I'm just not there yet.
Fantastic model and wonderful paintjob.
Love the swamp basing you used for this video! This and your chipping/rusting technique you used for your death guard gave me an idea for a miniature I’ve been sitting on.
Geez this model was looking awesome already by like 6 minutes into the video. Really nice job love it
Thanks Casey for all of the inspiration you have given me by creating my own Ultra Marine army out of all second hand and ebay models that I have rescued.
Stunning result and you sure painted an eye-catcher. Get it? Eye.. *runs along*
That is one excellent paint job and that eye is great. Love it
Awesome video, great tips and love the base. Amazing job on the eye.
This was the best painting job I have seen in this channel! I can feel your enthusiasm. Great job!
Absolutely amazing, one of your best yet. That resin pour really tied in the mini to the base
Such an awesome model! And her rules are powerful as well.
One of your very best paintjobs - it's amazing!
Your videos inspired me to buy some old tat off e-bay last week, picked up a dozen vintage space marines, 2 bikes and a half metal Predator tank thingy from 1993 for £20.
I am stained blue from stripping the old paint off with Dettol (like Simple Green but available in the UK) the house stinks of antiseptic (Dettol again) but we are almost ready to reassemble and paint up my first squad of 40k troops.
I listened to your description of this model on the podcast while scrubbing minis with a toothbrush, it looks way better then it sounded....
Love your channel man, you and Brent keep me inspired.
the idea of someone sculpting that giant Hag Tiddy is hilarious to me
That is epic! Damn that looks good!
Here's a tip with Milliput. When you are mixing the Milliput, you can substitute up to 50% of what you need with Play-doh.
Get your two parts Milliput, and an equal part Play-doh and mix together.
This does several things.
It helps by making the mixture more supple, gives you more time to work with, and helps you save a bit of expensive Milliput for future projects.
It dries like Milliput, and you can still sculpt it like Milliput. You can even still sand it like Milliput.
Brilliant tip, I'll have to give it a shot.
@@TheDrewcas I can't claim it as my own idea, I saw it here on RUclips somewhere.
I've heard people mixing in green stuff, but this is the first I've heard of playdoh.
Doesn't it rot? Or go mouldy?
I had to throw some out, with fluff growing on it, my kid probably didn't wash their hands before playing with it.
@@sasserine When i've used green stuff with Milliput, it cures but is still a little soft/flexible. I've had the same little tub of Play-doh for a couple years and it isn't moldy. Maybe not as clean as it once was. When it starts to dry out, i just use a some water and knead the Play-doh to get it soft again.
Maybe your play-do got a little food in it, and it got moldy.
Who on earth dare to ditch such a lovely lady
Wow great looking model some of your best work matey
i would have been so pissed with that paint spill at the beginning.
very nice and well done, it's stunning.
It sucked, but then again since it pretty much got right in the palette I used it all week…it was still so much though 😂
It sucks when that happens, but at least it was on the wet palette. That way as long as you don't let the palette dry out it should last a little while.
I'm late to this video, that being said this model is INCREDIBLE. The resin pour is mindblowing. Great job!
Rubber tip sculpting school ;) Love your videos buddy! keep 'em coming! :)
Amazing job Casey!
W O W !!! That is amazing!!! Can't find any words... I'm absolutely stunned.
Wonderful job, glad you didn't have any negative reactions with the resin. BMC seems to always get weird reactions after doing a wonderful vignette.
Thanks for sharing, I am always inspired by your rescue projects and love seeing old and worn models become new again!
Great video. Really really came out great.
That’s SO badass! Love it.
Lovely job, this model is fantastic, definitely my favourite GW model, and you did really well with it.
Outstanding work!
This troll hag, skin wolves, and the Carmine Dragon w/ Amethyst Wizard are some of favorite ForgeWorld sculpts from The Old World.
Best model you've done to date dude! Looks epic!
This paintjob is really outstanding!
Always great to see an update from you, man! Keep up the great work!
GIve this man a demon - a golden one, that is! Really nice work. Looks awesome! You're such a great inspiration :)
Wow wow wow! This is amazing work
Absolutely excellent effort and outcome man! 🤟🏻
Mate, another fantastic project.
The base, the eye, the colour choice all work great.
Wow this is incredible !!!! Looks really great!!!!!!
That’s just beautiful! One of your best paint jobs 👏
I can’t even play this in fantasy and you’ve made me want one, such a good paint man!!
Amazing paintjob! And the resin pour came out great!
fantastic job ! It s worth waiting two weeks !!!
For me, the choice to make those lighter thin-skin areas was brilliant, giving the bulk so much more depth and character
That looks goddamn awesome!!
Sometimes your paintstyle doesnt meet my taste, but this beauty certainly does!!
Great work man! I really like the soft colour transitions on the skin, overall colour choice is also on point!
Looks better than any of the examples, great job! Super swampy
I was always scared to touch the larger models from GW and since I got an airbrush they are what I prefer to paint now do to the fun details.
This one turned out to be pretty good - gj!
Great work as always, you a te truly inspiring for noob painters like us!
Thanks for the video! I recently ordered one of these, and you’ve provided a lot of inspiration! 😁
Been excited about this model since I heard you talk about her on PB!
I absolutely adore the colorscheme and the basedesign you used for this episode. She really looks like a hag of the swamps... how else should it be. I'm looking foward for your next concepts. Thanks a lot!
You have an eye for detail.
*Waits for applause*
Now I want to get some river and stone trolls on the go...
Fantastic work by the way! One of your best!
One really sees the extra work you put into this model. Great job.
Casey, it looks amazing! Awesome work!
This is an amazing model and a great paintjob. Well done!
Thats phenomenal, the resin really does elevate it.
Awesome work. Funny too see that the AoS Models also have this extreme Warping....
Cant wait for my redgrass palette xl!
I think it’s just forgeworld all around, which sucks, cause they have some cool stuff!
I think this is your best model on the channel
crushed it.... what a rescue... 👍
man you have been KILLING it lately. Keep up the good work! and don't stress about everything having to be off eBay lol. We love your videos regardless
What a freaking gorgeous job! Hard to say about an ugly 'ol hag but man you absolutely knocked it out of the park!
Whoa the trick with the white on the scales was so clever.
That's a damn good eye sir.
Amazing job! Congrats!
Awesome paint job. Really makes me want to pick up some trolls!
Fantastic wark man
great work as always, using this clip foe a d&d encounter :p
oeff that green paint spill, I had the same happen to me with scorched brown, sharted all over my desk
Hahah, hate to see it happen, but it definitely does!
Amazing paint job man!!
At like 10:00 when you're doing the washes the details on her shoulder really looked like a puppy face to me for a second.
Also the result on this was SO NICE I love the colours you used!
Great job, Casey! She looks awesome!
Awesome job with that net bag with the octopus!
Beautiful!
That paint bottle spill hurt me on a spiritual level
Looooove these resin kits. Thanks!
Outstanding!
Beautiful work
You definitely painted this bravely
This looks so awsome! I always look forward to your videos since I only discover you a over a month ago
I think this is your best model to date and that is saying something
Nice job on this one, I think its one of your best yet. :)
Awesome work.
"drop bottles are soo much better" hahahahahahaha nope... :D i know that feeling :D
Looks fantastic! Well done - I have a question, I cant figure out how to create a barrier for a resin pour (I dont have a glue gun) Could you do a video where you show and explain that part? I feel like your the best guy to do it - Thanks for considering
I'm not even sure a glue gun was the best option. I've seen people use regular PVA, once that dries then they come back with more around all the edges just to make absolutely sure. Luke Towen from Boulder Creek Railroad uses resin in a lot of his projects, he is probably the best resource to see it more often.
one of my fave models too, should get one before FW decides to discontinue it out of the blue.
