Damn god of war has dragged me into the depths of Norse mythology
Nice. For me it was Marvel's Thor comics.
Dude, dragons got me into that n every mythology in general lol
I know right the comparison to the Bible and the destruction of the giants is shocking.
Please elaborate
Thor is black, lemme know when you get to that point.
23:08 mimir: nothing is more vile that a child that kills their parent
Kratos : *SWEATS NERVOUSLY*
Kratos: Well...unjustly perhaps...what if said parent is a blood thirsty tyrant who made the lives of everyone, including that child and his siblings, miserable? ...theoretically speaking of course.
He fears that his son will become like the tyrannous monster he once was. He does not fear death or being killed by his son.
Lucius Beast sweats in booooi****
Kratos sweating: Boi!
Nero : still better than being called a *DEADWEIGHT*
What causes most problems in Greek mythology? Zeus couldn't keep it in his pants.
What causes most problems in Norse mythology? Odin and Thor being racist towards giants.
Chris Bueno Well at least Zeus left great offsprings through his actions. Odin simply sealed his fate in Ragnarok.
CAN'T KEEP MY D I C K IN MY P A N T S
Not entirely Zeus' fault, if there's anyone to blame, that would be Ares and Athena, the former, for being so obsessed with conflict and making Kratos the ultimate mortal warrior by having him kill the two most important people in his life, and the latter for making a fatal miscalculation and taking a big gamble with the use of Pandora's Box.
A Ghost Without a Past Athena was not evil. By all accounts prior to her corruption, she was the noblest of the Pantheon.
She was, but still, she miscalculated that Kratos would draw power from the evils, instead of hope.
I have a feeling Kratos will absolutely despise Thor, for he is exactly what Kratos once was, and is everything Kratos fears Atreus will become. The Thunder God will likely go after the boy out of desire to spill Giant blood, and the ensuing battle will shake the nine realms to their core.
Da Shieldmasta what doesn’t makes sense to me is why does Thor love killing giants if he himself is half giant it just throws me off I mean he can’t be a completely violent bastard in this world
J Double C
3/4 giant.
Thor is.
let's not forget that Kratos and Atreus killed his sons.
Kratos was never like Thor. Kratos killed for vengeance . Thor killed for glory.
J Double C From what Mimir described Thor with his stories and this is just speculation; it would appear that Odin may have 'programmed' Thor to become the ideal Giant Killer using the magic that Freya taught him to twist him from birth (much like he did to the Valkyries) so Thor is normal in a sense but whenever he sees a giant he goes full-on terminator mode where he is probably unaware of what he is doing.
"Mimir of the Bifrost Teats"
Legend
"So I'm sitting there, bifrost on my titties"
Tits
@random commenter Mimir might be put to rest sometime later. The ending with thor appearing at kratos' house happened in the future and we didn't see mimir
Lol if that was possible then we would have a hard time getting to Jotunheim
Mimir is likely inside the house.
The mother’s ashes were so sparkly that I honestly thought it was gonna bring the giants back to life
They will
the will, in god of war 5
Atreus' future wife too.
That's angel dust
@@WholeWorldViral no , the ones we saw at the end are good as dead , Surtur and his fire giants are still around and it is them that will bring end to asgard . this time i wanna see kratos teaming up with surtur and not go down like with gia . dont wanna see same shit repeat twice .
We have Atreus saying "Not all Giants where big" early in the game, yet all the corpses in Jötunheim are as big as Thamur.
Atreus' mom was human-sized, yeah, but in mythology Jötnar could shape-shift. For all we know the mother was mountain sized as well, but choose to remain tiny all the time.
Abdias Zuniga great comment because I was wondering this. So Giants could possibly alter their size?
Ares Yes. The Jötnar Utgardaloki, Thiazi, the unnamed Stonewall Builder (who in GoW is called Hrimthur) and the most famous Loki where well known shape-shifters.
The Corpse Swallower of Helheim was said to be a Jötunn that took the form of an eagle.
Abdias Zuniga that corpe swallomer is the bird in hel?
Jules Benemerito I think so, yes.
Abdias Zuniga imagine Kratos having sex with a mountain-sized woman
The father destroy the Olympus, the son destroy the asgard
ayasaki kazuma like father like son
The grandson will destroy eigypt? Or japan? Or england?
Cristian Ojeda the grandson is the world serpent lmao
Well, Loki is too young anyway and Kratos directly kill Baldur instead Loki indirectly kill Baldur
ayasaki kazuma this is not the biological son of kratos.
“It begins, with an ocean of blood!”
“Finally, a story worth hearing”
When I heard that I was like goddamit kratos
Classic Kratos
can fairy tail vs devil may cry be a crossover gme on ps4 and ps5
please please please
33:51 The lore says after shutting the path to Jotunheim, only the serpent (Jörmungandr) and the guardian (Faye) will remain in Midgard. It also says, 'When doom befalls the indestructible (Baldur), only then will Faye be able to return to the realm of the Giants.
Is that the translation of the code on the right? If so thank you very much. This is incredible
So to sum it up. After Thor and Odin were casted out of Jotunheim by the Giants and Tyr. The world Serpent and the guardian(Faye) were the only ones giants left in Midgard after Thor's genocidal rampage. After the death of Baldur by the hands of Kratos, the family of two were finally able to spread Faye's ashes in Jotunheim; Land of the Giants so she could finally rest in the place of her birth.
Where do the giants go after they die?
Dread Warrior That’s a good question.
@@windghost2 I've been wondering that ever since I started learning about Norse mythology
You think if Surtr, "never sleeping, always honing his blade", might win against Thor and Odin if he took a little nap before the fight?
In Ragnarok, Surtr actually fights Freyr, and he defeats him as the rest of Odin and Thor's army perish. Then, he burns down the nine realms, so he does actually win
I have the feeling Surtr is kratos in GOW5. It goes like this: kratos die killed by thor, his soul goes to underworld. Since he already commit genocide there, he is all alone, so all he do is honing is chaos sword while hoping there is someway to return to the world to help his son. Meanwhile atreus raging in the world for losing his father, he will then create the world serpent with freya as a weapon against the asgard. Then the battle between the world serpent and thor fuck up the fabric of space and time so that kratos now able to escape underworld. Then we finally play as kratos again, destroying odin, thor, the entire asgard draining all of his life and godhood. Then the scene like shown in the wall happen: kratos fall with little bit energy left while atreus holding him. And then they fuck
@@filiphovland2462 he is like kratos version of the scandinavia
@@ASSassINS111111 u had me in the first half
@@elpadrino402 lol yea wtf
Mimir: It is said that when Jormungandr and Thor battle at Ragnarok, they clash so violently that the tree of life splinters, casting the Serpent back through time, even before his own birth.
Kratos: That is madness!
Me: Oh like you didn't travel back in time before you were born huh.
Wait do you mean when(spoilers for GOD OF WAR 3) Kratos killed the sisters of faith and used the strings or something to go back to kill Zeus when he killed Kratos
The Harp in god of war 2 Kratos teleported back to the Great War so he can find the aid of the titans before they would all be wiped out by the noble phantasm of the Blade of Olympus.
@Question -101 i only played only a little bit of and to add on to that I was kid so everything is a bit foggy but thank you anyway
Kratos sounded legitimately dumbfounded when he heard that
And yet there are still people who are asking the question how is Jormungandr alive if he is Loki‘s son and Atreus is Loki, like seriously did they not pay attention to the story. 😂
i like how kratos wasnt mad at faye when he found out she had secrets. he trusted her and believed she had her reasons just like him
was just horrified on what the giants fate were after going to jotunheim.. I only wished that there still survivors in the sequel
Yeah, one question remains, how did they die? Some sort of space time hijinks?
J.M. Obyx as what kratos said "I do not know.."
It was said the story after trading Freya for Hammer and conceal thor and get to jotenheim it was said that thor goes berserk and rampage and slayed and murder all the giants that's when Freya cast a powerful spell to bring thor back to midgard but probably ot was too late when she said she dont want to get involved in this massacre and killed all for glory for his father and for asgard. Just like kratos who killed for glory because he was to do so for his oath for ARES and for helping him to defeat on the battle back in GAD OF WAR 1 and then He killed for VENGEANCE. After the incident for killing his own family. I REALLY HATE PEOPLE PLAYING GOD OF WAR WITJOUT KNOWING SHITTY THINGS ON THE GAME.
maning04 dont worry in the future atrues will get a time travel stone from the vainr and he will use it to go back in time to tell the giants everything so he will lead giants to war to Asgard along with surfr just like how kratos with in time to bring the titans to fight the Olympians. and on top of that mimr even mentions that the vainr has a time travel stone
incinerator950 Yeah, I too think Thor didn't kill all of the Giants in Jotunheim during that incident, and even if he did, there was later an exodus of Giants in Midgard migrating back to their home realm.
So something is amiss here. Either something else invaded Jotunheim and killed them all or the Giants are alive, but hidden behind cloaking magic. Remember that Atreus/Loki thought he heard voices for a moment when crossing the bridge on Jotunheim? I think that's a clue.
I always thought some gods are assholes but goddamn Odin..
Niggy He makes Zeus look like a saint lmao.
KỳNam Văn Atreus will probably kill him when he gets older
Remember this is pretty much fabricated for the sake of the game, they even call the Jotnar "giants", so it's not found in real myth :D
@@Lupinemancer87
I thought that Ice Giants which were the inhabitants of Joutenheim was actual Norse myth. I've read that several times. I was actually happy that they said Sutr was a fire giant, cause in Norse myth he is counted as such, instead of being portrayed as a demon-god. Even in Norse mythos, Loki is half ice giant and half vanier, to who him and Odin played in the forest as children, and then swore a blood oath to each other, thus making themselves "blood brothers".
Giants have ALWAYS existed in Norse myth.
Unless you mean the word "Jotnar", then yeah, that's a first for me.
KỳNam Văn Odin Will most likely get killed by Tyr’s offspring(s) and/or Atreus/Loki.
37:07 there are so many people who completely miss this part. Baldur didn't know Jack about greek gods. He just thought Kratos was Jotun.
We know that , the reason why Baldr said " I thought you were bigger"
Nah pretty sure he does know the Greek gods. Thing is why should you care about a now dead pantheon and their killer who’s completely disappeared from sight after it happened, especially thinking he died? Makes sense he forgot.
Think he learns half way of sort. Buy Odin is also quite clear: we both now have a better idea of who we are dealing with.
This plot is making very loud time travel noises and I'm concerned.
Next game will most likely be like OG GoW 2. Kratos will have to time travel. This time most likely because Thor kills him, many years pass in the real world when he comes back and everything went to shit.
Robert Wiech oooph
You Shouldn’t be, god of war has already tamed the time travel plot once and I’m more than certain Santa Monica can do it again. It’s also entirely possible that the time travel is a huge red herring. This game goes out of its way to beat you over the head with foreshadowing that not only claims time travel is happening/has already happened, that it honestly leads me to believe that it’s almost too obvious for time travel to actually be happening.
THE SERPENT SAID HE ARTEUS SEEMED FAMILIAR CAUSE ARTEUS IS LOKI THE SERPENTS FATHER....AND WHEN THE SERPENT FOUGHT IN RAGNAROK HE GOT SENT BACK IN TIME BEFORE HE WAS BORN WHEN LOKI WAS A KID
Admin Roblox that is madness!!!
THIS. IS. SPARTA!
OMG NO ONE KNEW!! HOLY FUCK TELL US MORE!
C A P S - L O C K I N T E N S I F I E S
But that leaves a few questions. If Loki is still a kid, then how come Mimir talks about The Binding of Fenris, his other son as if it has already happened? And if Tyr is dead, how can he be a live later to bind him? And where does that Hel, Loki's daughter, and Sleipner, Odin's horse and another of Loki's children? Honestly, this is very confusing, more so then the Greek version where all the Gods already existed and wasn't going to exist in the future. I hope this gets cleared up in the next game.
40:17
I like how the designers put the hand out in the middle; it's such a striking thing to see a very *human* appendage touching the horizon, that you start to look around and see the destruction wrought
That was what prompted me to look around
"It started with a river of blood"
"Finally a story worth hearing"
I understood that.
25:45 Mimir is synchronized with Kratos hitting the crate
B o n k
haha, epic
Story enhancement
I always feel like it was an intentional detail, as that happened for me too
I heard him say “ FUCK” 😂😂
I really like this game how they change the perspective. Especially the giant perspective. When human only see that the Aesir is good guy protector of human kind, giant are bad and so on. Yet we see another side of the story. I mean, in the war sometimes there's no absolute good and bad. The game like telling the story or history about aesir is good because it's written by them or their ppl. Yet we see the opposite, the untold story.
They took a big twist at the mythology too. Like with baldur how freya either knew he was going to be killed or saw that he would die by someone, cant remember what it was, so she went around and made a pact with everyone around the realms that no one is to harm baldur. God of war made him invicible, untouchable, noone could harm him. I was like WHHHHAAAAAAT?!?!
dio fanzury what do u expect?? this is GOW of course the gods have to be dick heads it would b a boring game if the gods are good they dont have to follow the mythology thier just borrowing it
Token Black I think there's tons of draugr because of the valkyries being trapped and not in Valhalla escorting dead people there, so the dead people become draugr which I think is stated ingame
Milbox R And it was Odin that caused them to be corrupted and locked up so he probably wanted this for some reason.
steelram 98 actually it was freya lol
Thor and Odin will pay for what they did to the giants.
TheBlackSwordsman87 They shall also pay for fenrir
yes man but we might also need Guts too to help Kratos in this battle
that be so sick, shitting blood thinking about it
AND dont forget FREYA hates kratos now and Probably she knows Loki is Atreus and A half giant that Thor will come a take him and rescue him from asgard. OH MY KRATOS LORD!
NeoPsychosis 1567 atleast you know
@20:40 world serpent just chillin on the background 😁
He does that in game time to time. The serpent must really like kratos and the gang.
Mr. Mcgee facts 🅱️
Lol He’s probably thinking “Wait is that Dad?”
The female singer 41:15 is Eivor. Nobody mention it and i believe she deserves some recognition :)
I think Mimir knows way more than he puts on, Kratos is probably gonna die like it was foretold on the wall of Tyr and that in turn will make Atreus/ Loki wage war on the gods and bring about Ragnorak
Oh I'm pretty sure Mimir is holding back on information. The reason why however, remains to be seen. Sure hope its not for a possible betrayel.
The mural does portray Atreus and Kratos doing some spell/incantation made clear with the 'speech bubbles' (for a lack of a better word).
It's God of War. For all we know, Kratos dies, ends up in Valhalla and carves his way out.
At this point we can't be sure it's kratos as the mural "kratos" lacks some characteristics that kratos has. It could also be a one of the giants? Maybe a God? I doubt they'll kill kratos as God of war wouldn't be God of war with out him in it.
Caer Nyralim I hope it’s not sinister aswell but from history proves the story of GOW never ends on a easy and peaceful note
Caer Nyralim Well he's just a severed head, he's not really in any place to betray Kratos
0:38
Mimir: I was fond of every giant I ever met.
Kratos: *ANGRILY TURNS*
Yeah but Mimir said he never got to meet Faye. She was only a myth in Asgard. Thor himself couldn’t find her
Thor and Odin is more cruel than the Greek gods Kratos killed.
I'd say they're even with Zeus. Both Odin and Zeus had people wrongly imprisoned, both murdered others, both were egotistical douchebags. Thor would be even with Ares. But I do think Odin was more psychotic than any of them
TitanGT66 Odin makes Zeus look like a saint.
True
TitanGT66 Zeus prior to his corruption by the evils of Pandora's box was strict but not a complete asshole. What is Odin's excuse for his actions???
I know. It's not a competition...
2:45 "have I told you how I killed the Sisters of Fate?"
XD
Different realm, different rules
Kratos didn’t really kill all the sisters. He sent the youngest two into a realm of some sort
@@OGHaloSpartanII Still he defeted fate so that means something
@@andresneira637 ...like I said different realm, different rules but got to admit that be a fun game, you can like play hours of fun changing the fate in God of War series lol XD
"The giants called me... Tom of Hiddlestons"
I never thought I could hate both Odin and Thor after playing god of war.
This isnt the Avengers
This is this version.
@@EluSivICZeROxAwe 💀💀
It's weird really. Thor and Odin aren't meant to be seen as good or evil. Thor and Odin did both good and evil things simply because they could, because they were Aesir.
@@foolslayer9416 Yeah. Germanic paganism (umbrella term that includes a lot of Northern Europe) has Odin as an ambitious ruler, both wise and ruthless, but Thor was literally just a party animal who got into trouble with Loki in many stories. While Loki did technically become brothers with Odin, he and Thor went on adventures that included Thor disguising himself as a bride to get his hammer back from a troll prince.
Mimir is like that good uncle that tells you stories
Mimir: "... for there is nothing nature so reviles as a child who kills their parent..."
Kratos: "Listen here, you little shit..."
That view where you see the dead bodies of the giants. Beautiful but tragic. The concept artist who imagined this is on a whole different level.
I like how Kratos calls the World Serpent being cast back in time as "madness" but killed the Fates and used the strings of time to throw himself back to the point in time where he died to Zeus, only to save himself.
I think the thing Kratos found unbeliavable was the part that Thor did this using raw power alone. That's... concerning, to say the least.
Thanks for posting this and framing it in such a carefully cut way.
31:15 as Kratos and Atreus are walking up the stairs. Its such a beautiful moment and the OST fits perfectly. I can imagine the ending of Kratos story as he walking up the stairs to the light to become the one and only true god of all. damn that would be the most beautiful moment in video game history
Holy Shit, those are all dead Jotnar!! And all Mountain sized! That's a hand!!!
That shit gave me chills imagine seeing dead corpses of Giants
KNChoudhury I'm waiting for a giant to just wake up in a mountain range in the modern day and realize it's the wrong Era and just pretend he wasn't there 😂
That ended with a GIANT conclusion
The exit is that way
Booo, bad taste!
Get out
mimir of the bifrost teats
I have a feeling Surtur will die and Atreus/Loki will use the fiery Sword just like his father who used the blades of olympus
makes zero sense .... the blades were made for kratos
The Blade of Olympus was made to end the war between the gods and the titans. Zeus made it to end the war. Get your facts right.
Drangleic Lord I meant the final of GOW3
I Just realized its like Great grandfather to great grandson due to the fact
Cronos used a Scythe to Take of the genitals his father Uranus (God of the Skies)
Zeus Using a Sword to Kill of the Titans and Defeating Cronos
Kratos Killing his father Zeus and Defeating the Gods with the blades of Exile/Chaos
And possibly Atreus Killing his father (Maybe?) And using the Fiery Sword against the Aesir Gods and Asgard
Bruh, surtrs sword is as big as a mountain.
When talking about the world serpent being sent back in time
Kratos “that is madness”
Bruh you literally went back in time
this channel is so underrated, the stories are interesting i like the ones about thor the most
25:46 The bonk was perfectly timed
I wish we could see Jotunheim in it's glory days, its such a beautiful place.
I wish more games included this type of storytelling I love it, imagine if they had this kind along with doom eternals environmental, that would be dope as hell
I know this much I love the stories being told, but the more and more I hear them the more and more I’m not liking Thor, he seemed less than a god and more of a giant killing Terminator, I mean like in the story of the stone dancing giant everyone is having fun Thor walks in and SLAAAAM dead giant, when he shows up in the story truly it’s gonna be something to see The Titan Slaying God of War vs The Giant Smashing Norse God of Thunder
I think it’s awesome!
I did however learn these stories as a kid so I probably relate more to this than the American version. The same goes for The Little Mermaid, it’s a sad story but wonderful.
Thor must have some reasons, he protects Asgardian people's.
That’s all Thor was in real Norse. Him and Odin were absolutely evil, but it’s funny how Hollywood makes them into superheroes.
@@litledevel15 They weren't but whatever you say tard
9:28 even Kratos was surprised
The way mimir told Thamur's story.....😥😥😥
You mean jormungandr
Something tells me Faye and Tyr set this whole thing in motion as the key to ensure Ragnarok and the destruction of the Aesir and the Vanir as a way to ensure the survival of the Giants. Atreus was the key to make sure Ragnarok occurred, and now he knows who he really is.
“Fate is another lie told by the gods. Nothing is written that cannot be unwritten.” SPOILERS
It’s Interesting he says that because it could be possibly alluding to the end scene where it reveals the prophecy of Kratos dying by Atreus or Thor (i don’t know) if it is that’s bad ass to know lol
Bat Guy aa
Bat Guy kratos wasnt dying in the prophecy lol. its a optical trick they pulled.
MillionShadesofDarkness really? What was really going on in that picture?
Or it could be alluding to Kratos killing the sister of fates himself
It’s not kratos, or at least we as the players have no reason to believe that was kratos in that mural for a couple reasons. For starters I don’t think the leviathan axe was anywhere in sight, no way that axe is ever parting ways with kratos or Atreus considering what it means to both of them. Secondly, if that was supposed to be kratos in the mural next to Atreus, then where were his red tattoos that were very prominently shown in the other murals? No reason for the tattoos to not be there. Thirdly, it would be so painfully on the nose for that mural to be depicting kratos’ death that it’s almost certainly not that. The mural is so deliberately placed at the end of the game kratos even has lines that would leave you to believe he’s thinking “oh shit guess I’m gonna die again, that sucks.” But that’s not the case. The novelization of the game even states that kratos thinks to himself looking at the mural of Atreus and the dead person completely confused because he himself cannot identity who the person in the mural was supposed to be. So it clearly cannot be kratos himself.
Can we have audiobook made of stories told by Mimir? I would listen to these a whole day❤️
The god of war audiobook is entirely told by mimir
Skadis double crafted feet of the hunt sounds like gokd treasure for the boiiiiiiiiii, along with Sutrs Sword laced with Jormungandrs poison, Groas book of knowledge.
“Mimir of the Bifrost teats" hahahaha... If he ever get that chance that would be hilarious.
Can't wait until its Odin's and Thor's turn to feel the wrath of Kratos
DivineLightning
Not much for Kratos to be wrathful about. He doesn’t just casually kill people in any of his games, you know.
@@OtomostheCrazy Yeah but I imagine he would do so in protection of the boy.
I think the new story will be kratos actually losing to Thor in the beginning of the story. I mean Thor isn’t an easy threat at all.
emarythomp if he killed zeus i think thor will be light work
@@kobedagoat6395 if thor can send a big ass snake back in time and kill mountain sized giants. Then it wont be easy but its possible
It's even scarier when you rewatch the 3 Thor MCU movies and it's partially how this game is depicted. Thor really went around to other realms to basically "keep order" and destroy all combatants that would deem Asgard as an enemy. Mjonir really is a giant killer
Man, I love your channel. Here everybody is able to learn and dive deep into the Norse Mithology and God of War stories. You are worried about get every detail of the stories you're focusing on. Great job.
Man....them Giants laying dead on the mountains at the end makes me feel uneasy!
It's kind of scary. You see beings large and powerful, only for them to be stricken down and laid a waste.
Hey VGS! Thanks so much for uploading all these videos about God of War. I’m not into gaming anymore, but I love these stories. Keep it up!
When atreus was revealed to be Loki, I almost shit myself.
43:13 I thought for a moment there that is was Sunny singing that as if to take Atreus take over the song of his mother, but it's actually Eivør that's just how good she is. Making it sound like Atreus is singing it
Ragnarok: Atreus summons all the Giants from the past like his father did
ODIN! YOUR REIGN IS OVER!!! I BRING THE DESTRUCTION OF ASGARD!!!!
Our story begins in a ocean of blood.
kratos- finally a story worth hearing about!
XD
skull2470 it’s funny because Kratos is familiar with “The Sea of Blood” in one of the previous GOW games.
I can spend days listening to mimirs stories and I love his voice too
Jotunheim as we see, with the massive graveyard of giants is so evocative. Superb design, suberp writing, everything. 2 years later, I still call it the one perfect video game.
The game was awesome and everything. I really wish we could’ve gone back to this realm and I wish that at least one giant was still alive.
But am I the only one that’s going to point out that the leviathan axe was built to combat Thor? The fight between Kratos and Thor is gonna be badass
Yes. Remember the dwarf twins said they made the axe for Faye as a way to make up for making Mjolnir and watching Thor use it to slaughter the giants
Mimir: the serpent was sent backwards through time
Kratos: that is madness
Also kratos: altering the strings of the sisters of fate
I’m shocked in how much I enjoyed this video, my visualization made it so interesting.
From my understanding about Atreus is,he's part Giant and part Greek God which makes him a God Giant? Also,I heard this from another comment on separate video on God Of War saying that Greek Gods gets stronger as they get older. If this is true about Atreus can anyone just imagine how powerful Atreus will be once he reach his 50s.Talk about overpowered..
Gotta love Mimirs sense of humor ! Mimir of the bifrost teats ! I about fell outta my chair
Thor and Odin have it coming big time, I can't wait to see Kratos get his hands on them
I love Norse myth, and while I prefer thinking of the Aseir as noble gods, I do think they did a great job reversing the perspective here. Seeing all those corpses... damn.
It’s crazy that during all of this .. Thor and Odin were probably murdering the remainder of the jotnar
So wait. Why was Atreus with a pack of wolves? And without Kratos? Does he fuggin die? Is this all after or during Ragnarok? GOW 5 please hurry up
FroDude we don't know yet. But if that happen, seems he will bring the curse of kratos to destroy of asgard like his father who destroying Olympus.
And about the wolf, loki will have fenrir as his son, so it's make sense when he have blessing from wolf and friendly with them.
FroDude you have as much patience as a minute man
You can't rush perfection. Not to mention the game just came out. Wait a year.
The pack of wolves could also be leading Loki to Asgard as Odin has atleast two wolves.
Mr. Cuddlesworth We'll be waiting longer than a year. Normally a massive triple A game like this takes up to three years to develop plus a year of promotion and distribution. So we'll be waiting at least four years.
You have spent a lot of time to collect this... Great work!
The father son bonding in this video is wholesome
I love how you changed the intro music. Really changes the tone of things
You cut out when Kratos said, “...Reflect longer.” at 21:09, his best line with Mimir :(
The world serpent, literally the son of Loki recognizes Atreus and Mimir mentioning the Serpent could have traveled further back than his own birth. How did I miss this lmao
9:28 the only time kratos care about someone else besides his family.
i like how these stories are set to make Odin and Thor look like pieces of shit so when the time comes to destroy them we don't feel bad because we're used to them being good characters....
this is what makes the universe of GOW so cool and interesting because it's realistic...if gods were real they would most probably be assholes and not the superheroes we portray them to be...power turns people into assholes why would gods be any different?
Polytheistic gods to be exact.
THEY WERE NEVER GOOD CHARACTERS.
Marvel completely changes a crap ton about mythos. I don't know why some people think nearly anything about Marvel is relevant to the actual mythos. Rule of thumb. Gods are terrible, terrible beings in nearly every mythos they are in.
Vossler Henrick yeah remember in Thor Ragnarok Odin wasn’t this wise king and hella were gonna rule the realms but Odin stopped hela ruling!
@@kinggenejohnson from what I’ve read Hestia(Greek Goddess of Family)was really nice, and Hades(in actual mythology not GOW)was a faithful husband to Persephone and was much nicer then Zeus and Poseidon ever were, Demeter was a loving(I’ll be it a little overprotective)mother to her daughter which is much more then we can say for Zeus, Hephaestus tried to be a faithful husband to Aphrodite(she cheated on him with Ares)what I’m trying to get at is that wile most Gods were definitely terrible not all gods are bad
A nice little theory I have is that in the gow universe the Norse pantheon is stuck in a constant time loop that only Odin is aware of but because of kratos coming to Midgard it disrupted that loop and that caught the eye of Odin and so Odin wants this version of Loki ( Atreus) because he has two different magical bloodlines in and he thinks that this could stop Ragnarok ending the loop
No matter how much I play this game, am away from this game, these stories always draw me back in. Truly a gaming masterpiece. Honestly a piece of art.
3:06 all the stories are great but this one gives me chillz
Hmm.... I think I'm noticing a pattern with the Jotun's myths. Let me try one, and see if it fits...
".....And then Thor killed him too."
Drawing some very obvious parallels to Thor and kratos.
The most surprising thing to me is that Odin commissioned a statue of Thor considering how badly he treats his son
That Thrym story particularly terrifying to imagine. All the Jotnar just there for a wedding and proceeding to be killed by Thor.
Mate, I appreciate your work, two days straight I’m watching GOW
38:20 The top panel painting.
Huginn and Muninn on top of Mimir's tree before he got his head cut off. That's might have something to do with the next installment.
I love how mimir says it’s the giants that to do in odin cone ragnarok yet they are all dead
The view from above is amazing
9:27
That is madness.
*Says the guy who killed the sisters of fate and went back in time to prevent his death by Zeus*
In Norse mythology, *Ragnarök (/ˈrɑːɡnəˌrɒk/)* is a series of future events, including a great battle, foretold to *ultimately result in the death of a number of major figures *(including the gods *Odin, Thor, Týr, Freyr,* Heimdallr, and *Loki*), the occurrence of various natural disasters, and the subsequent submersion of the ...
I would cry so hard knowing that not only my mother but also my entire race was gone.
Awesome videos! Love the GOW lore
This game story telling is incredible I seriously hope that ragnarok still has stories in it
In one of the caves Atreus says that just because they are called “Giants” dosent mean that they were huge. So I assumed they were just normal or slightly bigger people. Kratos’ wife must have been normal sized. But in Jotunheim all the giants corpses are gigantic. I’m so confused
Giants can shape shift
The hunter giant's father shape shifted into animals to reach her how to hunt
In real mythology Loki is a full blooded giant and he is known for shape shifting
@@toob_noob4381 I think in the actual lore based off those two poems (which is where we got all of Norse mythology as they are the only surging documents pertaining to the mythology) giants can be normal sized and big
Maybe there are other corpses, they're just much smaller, so you can't see them from the top, only the big ones
Anyone notice how Atreus’ ash was more sparkly than when Kratos spreads it?
It's like how only when Atreus touched the wall did it react and reveal the murals, or like when his tattoos all started glowing when he got the rune. Obviously Atreus has natural power that triggered his mother's ashes to possibly bring back go life the Jötunn since they made sure to say earlier in the game that bringing something back to life was way harder than re animating it like Mimir. Atreus may actually be powerful enough to revive the Jötunn and Faye sacrificed herself for that.
Indeed a master piece
“ Odin would’ve traded his own wife for a strong cup of beer 😭”
The wall said: Death
Father
Betrayal
???
We can guess that eventually Loki (Atreus) will eventually kill Kratos who might betray everyone and use ragnarok to kill everyone or Loki might kill kratos and betray everyone and use Ragnarok.
Either way death means ragnarok and death is coming and atreus is inovled. So we must wait for the creators to give more content or lore to help us develop a proper explantion for this twisting adventure.
Maybe the death of Kratos as a FATHER, but the Ghost of Sparta will be reborned.
