Very interesting....I have an apple display on a Mac Mini. While the Mini might not last forever the display will (hoping). BTW. If your bride uses Mac OS and wares you may consider the M1 Mac mini. Very powerful machines, be sure to spend the extra $$$ and get the 16gig RAM. I have been using that configuration for about a year and have zero complaints. Thanks for an informative video.

One question though - did you use the in-built Thunderbolt cable from the monitor, or an Apple extension cable (2m) plugged at the back of the monitor? If you and your wife are using the monitor, does she then use the in-built cable + magsafe for her Mac, and you the extension for your PC?

Thanks. This looks like it potentially solves the problem I have (to connect my Apple 27" Thunderbolt display to my PC). Could you clarify one thing - you say you connect the GTX card's DVI output to the Thunderbolt EX3 card. As I understand it, that EX3 card has 3 ports: 1) a USB 3.1 type C port, 2) a USB 3.1 type A, and 3) a mini Displayport IN. So I have 2 questions - which EX3 port did you connect the GTX DVI output to? Also, did you introduce any adapters between the GTX's DVI port and the EX3's port? Thanks again.

Does anyone know if it's possible to connect 2 thunderbolt displays to a windows PC?
I was able to connect one display to my windows PC because I'm using an Asus thunderboltEX 3 PCI-E card. However, I bought another thunderbolt display, connected it to my first one in order to use daisy chaining, and the second one doesn't work.
Is there something I have to do to get the second one to fully work in terms of software, or do I need another adapter? The speakers on the second one work, but just no image, and even the thunderbolt software for the asus thunderboltEX card detects both displays.
