Just like everything, threes do not live forever and there are trees with long lifespans and other trees that do not even live 100 years we have seen this just outside the gates with the pests killing all the trees. 17 years ago , I bought a little old house , built in the 1930s' . A little fixer-upper, here in the Rheinland.. I dreamed of the fun and commradery , renovating this house and garden into a little home, only to find out too late, that my partner has absolutly no interest in doing that. 😂... When I see how much can be accomplished with the right peole on ones side, well, I don't know if I should smile or cry... Smile! It’s better to go alone than to drag someone along who doesn’t really want to be there. To some a dream can mean something you make sacrifices for and work towards, for others it’s just an enticing idea at a moment but when effort is required the dream fades quickly.

After giving you instructions to smile I’ve come back to ask if you are ok. We’re miles apart but despite the distance I can sense that you are feeling low. I’m an old lady and watching Dan build is uplifting. I don’t know why I find it so at my age except that I enjoy creating and building something from nothing myself and find it satisfying. Keep all the black crates from the plant delivery.
They are very sturdy and make excellent storage crates for root vegetables and bulbs.
One day you’ll have a vegetable garden.
You can use one of the rooms in your basement as a root cellar.
The metal racks fit the storage crates. They can be used in the root cellar to store potatoes, carrots, onions or tubers ( dahlias, ranukulas, sweet potatoes wine)
You can save a lot of money on plants for future pots/planters when you can winter them over.
Since the basement has windows, you can even store geraniums down there in winter and set up plant racks with grow lights to grow your own seedlings.
Have you considered setting up a raised bed near your yurt? You could grow some basic vegetables.

What a great job organizing!! I love it! Like you say makes working easier! My dad who was born in 1927 now passed away, he would always say " a place for everything, and everything in its place"!😊😊😊😊😊😊

I find it very thrilling! I love when things are all organized. A place for everything and everything in it's place. No searching for nails or screws, etc. You know where everything is.

Everything is looking great and Nick is awesome in all ways.
The gardens are going to be spectacular in the next year. I have enjoyed the continuous rebuild of this amazing old girl and the gardens together. They will be jewels of pleasant viewing when it’s all said and done Dan.
You, Nick, Calvin, Cameron and any one I’ve not seen are doing an amazing job.
    Nice organization too.
Absolutely I agree all of us need our private life. Just love everything you’ve accomplished so far. ❤❤❤

As someone who has his own shop/ woodworking business I can absolutely agree that a good cleaning/ organizing day is really satisfying every now and then. And then you start the next project and the chaos returns. 😂. You’ve got some solid scraps there. So many project options when the chateau is settled.

Use the shattered remains of the old panelling as templates to put new exact copies back - or, better yet trim the manky bits off the surviving panels and blend them in with the replacement ones.
