Nick our hero. ❤
Yes every episode is pro active and a pleasure to watch.........
Sweet gentle Nick planting flower is a beautiful sight. Just love him.
Me too, he's such a beautiful, peaceful, mischievous soul. 😂 . Many blessings to you and yours. ❤
He’s the BEST! ❤
Cute, too.
"What's on the labels won't be what's in the bins. We all know that." 😂 Universal truth, that.
That’s funny.
Have you seen Amaury’s work shop …… Stephanies cousin …….. highly organized ……. a great craftsman
When it gets embarrassing, I just turn the bins around 😂
Right along with “the quickest way to find a lost item is to buy a new one” and “the most permanent solutions started off as temporary fixes”.
We all know Dan is a little A.D.D. and he cleans in spurts.
Love seeing Nicks sense of humor popping out here and there! He’s so much more than an Arborist!
I'm sure Dan eggs him on! Nick has quick come-backs!
You’re done planting AND it’s raining!!! 🎉 AND you are all organized in your workshop 🎉🎉🎉
And the double-glazing on the windows has held up! You'll have a nice dry workshop.
Patience has never been my virtue and I sometimes feel I'll go crazy waiting for the roof to be completed. I'm just so invested in this restoration and enjoy each installment. Dan, you and your team are simply amazing!
He is a gardner for a couple weeks......no work on the Chateau. Sucking up views from his Garden women for views. NO roof still on the building.....
I just love Nick....he has it all. Intellect, knowledge, charm, humour and he sure understands hard graft!!!
I think he does it to use the big machines. They are so cool.
I’m addicted to this channel--many of us love vicariously through your hard work and love supporting your journey! Having an organized work space long term decreases hrs hunting for that bit you cannot find!
Nick is such a work horse! Organized saves sooooo much time in the long run
He wastes more time just sweeping........nothing geets done in a week between broadcast.
Organizing every now and then is sometimes the very best way to spend a day.
It clears the cobwebs from the brain 😅
Just organizing during a rainy day, huh?
Amury will be so proud of your organization!
My thoughts exactly!
Not sure about that
has Amaury ever even been to the Château? It’s so strange that for the longest time we never see them together any more. Hope it’s just busy lives.
@@janinejohnson801 not seen them together since Dan left
He was there for one of Dan's first meals on his new tree picnic table.@@annegiorgio5602
I hope you treat Nick to a slap up meal to celebrate all the planting and relax a bit over the weekend.
This has been quite a milestone in the renovation of the chateau - well done 🎉👏🏻🎊
I reckon a 4 star with jacuzzi would be on my list.. 😂
Slap up meal and 5 or 6 pints!!
@@carolineslater1731 A jacuzzi should be on the "to install list". Imagine all the sore muscles after all this work. And, it would be a great male bonding experience....LOL
@@marytaylor9185 Lol after working a long day with one of my mates I certainly wouldnt want to relax in a hot tub and "bond". No offense to those who would. But, a lovely lady or two would be my company of choice. 😉
@@StreetTruckinTitan Ah ha! Along with a martini, shaken, not stirred.......you're the James Bond type.
Love the organization!! First safety and now organizing things. Dream come true for this mother.❤
I keep watching to see if he will ever wear gloves. I finally started wearing them after hearing about spider bites. His hands might be tough enough where a spider would just give up trying to bite him. 😆
@@sippa5 yes, why don't they wear gloves - especially for all the woodwork?
@@sippa5 spider bites ????
@@micam.1136 with sharp sawblade, no splinters!
@@johumm455 Yes, it can happen if the spider is squished against your skin. I found wearing gloves while working in the garden saved my hands in other ways also, even tho at first I missed the feeling of earth in my hands. I'm not afraid of spiders and I'm the one who helps my friends get rid of spiders. 😄
Bet you’ve never been happier to get rain now that the plants are in 👍🏻 organized makes doing the job so much easier. Looking great
I can't say enough about the joy this site gives me. Your channel is a huge part of my life. Not only are you restoring a shell of a building, you're planting , with Nick's help a mirage of beauty.
Nick and Dan chemistry is my favorite❤ both of them are hard worker and funniest 😆 Nick deserve a room in Dan chateau....with a beautiful view on the garden he worked on.❤
Love those old wood panels still there, keeps the Chateau alive. Great world done, restoring order. Yay Nick.
Would be lovely if he could keep them
I'm one of those weirdos who loves and gets excited about some good storage and organization. It's so satisfying!
You have a boring life.
Dan, it is looking good ! It must be very rewarding for Nick to be planting for a change and not cutting down, cutting back and removing! For a change he is creating and planting something that will be there hopefully for a very long time !
I agree, but I don't think Nick ever cuts anything down that is not necessary and improves the overall growth of things
@@MWaite-xy4my I hope you did not misunderstand me, I do not see Nick as the "destroyer" , his work as a tree surgeon is very important, identifying the ill or dead trees, making space for other threes to grow and generally tidying up what was untouched for 40+ years in this case. Just like everything, threes do not live forever and there are trees with long lifespans and other trees that do not even live 100 years we have seen this just outside the gates with the pests killing all the trees. Just like the Chateau the grounds have now also been totally transformed and doing this now, rather when the Chateau is finished is a brilliant idea !!!
I do agree with you. I was just commenting on Nick's commitment
17 years ago , I bought a little old house , built in the 1930s' . A little fixer-upper, here in the Rheinland.. I dreamed of the fun and commradery , renovating this house and garden into a little home, only to find out too late, that my partner has absolutly no interest in doing that. 😂... When I see how much can be accomplished with the right peole on ones side, well, I don't know if I should smile or cry... (Smile mostly 😊) Dan and Nick are such a dream Team... watching them, lifts my spirits, every time... and after 17 years, well , my own little Chateau is coming along..
Smile! It’s better to go alone than to drag someone along who doesn’t really want to be there. To some a dream can mean something you make sacrifices for and work towards, for others it’s just an enticing idea at a moment but when effort is required the dream fades quickly.
After giving you instructions to smile I’ve come back to ask if you are ok. We’re miles apart but despite the distance I can sense that you are feeling low. I’m an old lady and watching Dan build is uplifting. I don’t know why I find it so at my age except that I enjoy creating and building something from nothing myself and find it satisfying. I do it with cardboard, glue and fabric to make a Barbie house for my granddaughters, you have a big renovation project so get stuck in and feel better. You will!
@bernicehorne3827 bless you for following your intuition. I do it too, sometimes. I used to think I was being self indulgent until feedback on one post told me otherwise - they'd been suicidally low. Even a little encouragement can go a long way.
You must have made some progress in 17 years. You're not going anywhere, so it will all be done one day. One day. I've been telling myself that about my garden for a decade now. Heigh ho it is improving.
Oh, my, yes. Getting organized is very exciting. It's an accomplishment in itself, because it's not only the good feeling of it being done, the value of added efficiency, but it's also a milestone in itself.
We choked on our coffee when Dan walked behind Nick while he was squatting planting shrubs & said "Lovely Balls!" ❤️🙏
You can see why Dan left the pieces of panelling and plaster. When he swept away that dust to reveal those beautiful old tiles, it was like glimpsing a lost world. Magic.
Keep the paneling
Everyone loves Nick. Even the dogs!
What a sight to behold, swept floors, shelves built and stocked and the last plant in...oh and the rains...welp, time for a beer I reckon...CHEERS...
Well Dan, I found your channel a few weeks ago and started the play list of everything and just watched it every night while i was at work 13hr night shifts. I must say after 267 videos im still here are eager for the next one! You all have such a great attitude and perspective on the enormity of the project and even adding to that task the videos and we do appreciate it! Ill look forward to the next one and already have kind of an image of what it will look like one day in my head!
Welcome. 😊
Love Mother Nature cooperating with free watering! 🌿
Keep all the black crates from the plant delivery.
They are very sturdy and make excellent storage crates for root vegetables and bulbs.
One day you’ll have a vegetable garden.
You can use one of the rooms in your basement as a root cellar.
The metal racks fit the storage crates. They can be used in the root cellar to store potatoes, carrots, onions or tubers ( dahlias, ranukulas, sweet potatoes wine)
You can save a lot of money on plants for future pots/planters when you can winter them over.
Since the basement has windows, you can even store geraniums down there in winter and set up plant racks with grow lights to grow your own seedlings.
Have you considered setting up a raised bed near your yurt? You could grow some basic vegetables.
Why not a green house?
@@garnierchristian3589 if he has the space on the property, that would be great. He mentioned that he gets very strong winds up there.
He’d need a solid structure. Maybe he can get a Hartley Botanical Greenhouse. They are absolutely gorgeous.
Came for the clean-up . . . . . . stayed for the plumbers crack.
😂😂😂
It was a sight to behold!!
@@veepotter307 A sight to be held for some.
Ha! I missed the second part of the show…. Had to go back for split take!!!😂
🤦♂
A good tidy up is so satisfying.
Someday Dan you will be organizing the drawer for forks, knives and spoons. You'll get there. ❤
What 😂😂😂😂 😂🤔🤔🤔🤔Mmmmm nah 😂😂😂😂😂
Well… he’s a proper cook , and even has a cooking channel. I’m going to try his little soufflé à la fraise soon.
The chateau is really beginning to show some real beauty! And , the garden will be a”showstopper “ by summer!
All the planning for the garden is going to pay off in a big way. Nick worked so hard to finish it.
Gardening and organizing are great to watch.
It’s lovely to see you grow with your challenges.
Organization makes your work so much more efficient.
Even better, the metal racks and bins are all recycled.
Enjoy a well deserved weekend and enjoy a good meal with Nick.
He is such a hardworking and kind soul.
Your mate Amaury would be impressed by your tidy workshop. The Gods must be smiling on your and Nicks efforts in the garden to send the timely rain. 😅💖
Every single night I come onto RUclips to see if there’s an update. Always chuffed to bits when there’s a new one up. Feel like a junkie.
I think leaving those bits and pieces on the walls is a great reminder for how far you've come.....like when you started with your chop saw on the ground and now you've got so many cool tools that they need organizing.
The gardens are looking so good.. my favorite part is the dog giving Nick a kiss❤. So cute..
You’re blessed for all the rain you get there.
A good clean up and knowing where the tools are is an amazing feeling!
Been waiting a lot time for this to happen. So good.😃
Much respect to you (and Nick) for a long days work, then your editing a video for us! Must be exhausting. 😅
WoW! Who needs therapy with a poet like you around ! Your chateau is magnifique. Bless you.🥰
Neatness! Storage! Next thing you know it will be...safety! :)
Hey, he put railings on the stairs, what more do you expect?
Organizing the construction site is just one notch under the amount of satisfaction the completed job gives.
so nice to see Master Nick planting new trees, bushes and flowers, he is usualy the one who is taking out everything, seems he likes to give back to the forest
Just getting better at every step, I can’t wait to see the garden in all its splendor, looking up at the chateau and smiling with pride to be a part of this amazing story!
Shades of Amaury, the lovely new tools need a lovely organised setup. The convenience will be worth it. Essential and very satisfying.
Yes, it is so nice to have your things in order and how time-saving it is when you can ask who will pick up an item that is THERE.
So nice to follow your little renovation project, see all the little progress being made in all areas
You'll love having all your tools together and knowing exactly where things are. Less clutter in your life means less clutter in your brain and clear thinking makes for amazing results! Great job and really happy for you!
❤❤❤ this is so nice, having everything at you finger tips.
Gotta love it!!! Everyday a new adventure with Dan the man.❤❤❤
Nick is a man of many talents and levels of emotion, a renaissance man, indeed. Great friend for you, as you are a rare find in this world as well. Your aerial safety Mom officer.
And not only are they rebuilding a Chateau, making a beautiful garden, they are creating probably the best workshop ever..ever day another interesting job...so good to see you ❤
Organization make life so much easier, saves time, brain energy and gives incentive to keep going.
You boys are doing amazing things there! ❤
Morning cuppa with Dan & Nick, what a way to start the day. Many thanks for another enjoyable vlog. I agree with you Dan before you said anything I was thinking the panelling gives the Chateau a lived in feeling..With the rain arriving just as the planting finished I think you have a Camelot situation. The Chateau & grounds are magical. Enjoy your weekend ❤
Hey Dan, I think you should repair the Old Woodwork in the Entrance Room. ? I am sure you will do a Great job on it. The Old woodwork looks amazing.
Exactly Dan, it takes so much more time to do a job when you have to hunt around for everything tou need.
Nick is a bonus!!!
I love you both but Nick is such a beautiful soul. Dan you have the perfect person to work for you. You complement each other. Love love the effort of organising the entrance to the Château but after looking at what you have to do, you'll be picking up and reorganising a few more times in the future. And that is what it should be anyway. Again another good day of work. 👍
Nick is amazing not only does he chop them down but he plants them as well. With the help of the girls.
A work of ART!!! Both the workshop and the gardens!!! 🥰🎶🌻🎶❤️🎶🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦🏰🇫🇷🇫🇷🇫🇷
No gardening until autumn?? You may have to **replant**🌿 the stuff Anna 🐾🐾 digs up 😂❤
Those dogs are gonna have so much fun for the next 6 months digging up all your expensive plants.
It is looking fabulous Dan and Nick. What a team you are.
Good man Nick 🌱🪴 everything planted now 👏👏👏👏🧑🌾
It is definitely interesting. Your channel is the one show my four year old daughter and I watch together that both of us stay interested.
Watching from Sydney Australia
Love seeing Nick he is so adorable and makes it seem easy to use that huge machinery. Thank you Dan and Nick for always keeping it fun for us. Luv the pup's ❤
Oh my, tidying up, and sorting and organising......what an episode to quell my OCD urges!!
What a great job organizing!! I love it! Like you say makes working easier! My dad who was born in 1927 now passed away, he would always say " a place for everything, and everything in its place"!😊😊😊😊😊😊
I find it very thrilling! I love when things are all organized. A place for everything and everything in it's place. No searching for nails or screws, etc. You know where everything is.
Love the plant bins being put to good use and the April showers were the ultimate reward for an epic planting effort❤
Love the tidying and organizing-Bravo, Boys❤❤
It is incredibly exciting…remembering the room before. You and your aides are amazing. Always smiling never angry or miserable. You are simply the best.👍
Definitely needed done! Glad to see you getting organized for the next big step!
Dan. It's so great to see you back when you say....tomorrah! The project looked like it's got so much energy and great plans now you have more experience of the building.
Now we need to get you to 500k subs.....come on people don't watch for free. Just subscribe.
Everything is looking great and Nick is awesome in all ways.
The gardens are going to be spectacular in the next year. I have enjoyed the continuous rebuild of this amazing old girl and the gardens together. They will be jewels of pleasant viewing when it’s all said and done Dan.
You, Nick, Calvin, Cameron and any one I’ve not seen are doing an amazing job.
Nice organization too.
Absolutely I agree all of us need our private life. Just love everything you’ve accomplished so far. ❤❤❤
As someone who has his own shop/ woodworking business I can absolutely agree that a good cleaning/ organizing day is really satisfying every now and then. And then you start the next project and the chaos returns. 😂. You’ve got some solid scraps there. So many project options when the chateau is settled.
I hope you tease Amaury over your work shop.
😂😊😅😮
Wow.. decluttering into an organization station!! Looks great!
Dan The Man!!
It's nice to see the garden going in now, which means before long you'll have beauty surrounding you .
Always keep the Magic around, Dan! This chateau is coming alive!❤
So satisfying seeing it made so neat and tidy. The paneling is like a ghost of yesteryear and a vision of the future in one.
Always nice to know where your stuff is. The garden will be beautiful in summer!💋
Tools Organized! Looks good and the landscaping is great. Thank you Nick for helping Dan. Always fun to watch
Great work! There has been a huge transformation since the day you discovered your 'roof-less situation' hidden in the wild.🍻 cheers!
It's hard to find a carpenter who tidies up after himself. What a find you are, Dan! Great job!
Use the shattered remains of the old panelling as templates to put new exact copies back - or, better yet trim the manky bits off the surviving panels and blend them in with the replacement ones.
Perfect weather for planting.
If there's such a thing as an honorary doctorate in (chateau) restoration - you deserve one Dan.
Great positivity and the skills you are developing daily are inspiring. Well done for bringing back this piece of history. :)
Your a star Dan ❤
Yeees! Just before bedtime! 😂 🙏
Dan is the man. There diesn't seem to be anything you can't do. Bravo! Live your videos.
Nick deserves a nice, long warm shower. After a cold day nothing better warms you up.
And after that a nice meal with a glass of wine.
Nick gets a nice hot shower at his own home, not sure what Dan does though 😢
Dan you rock!!!! Greetings from your friends in New York!!!
Is Jeepers Creepers coming back?
Hello from USA❤
Congratulations on a great tidy up and organization of your workshop! Nick, the cheeky gardener, has done a super job planting and Mother Nature has watered it all. Blissful! 🙏❤️
Well fair play to you Dan, it’s taken a millennium but you finally have a neat, tidy and organised workplace.😊❤
I feel confident that the organized workshop will not stay organized for long.
Dan, it won’t be long till you Can’t call it a ruin anymore
Nick is a super guy & great friend. Love the tidy workspace. Thanks Dan, take care. 😊👍🏻
Thanks for the 'etiquette, Junipers horizontalis' ; )) ! And Best Feeling ALWAYS, after a days Work of gardening, the sound of Rain!
