Dan, you should be singing 'Noggin on Heaven's Door'.
or "Noog' on wood". by Amii Spruce-art ^^
😂😂😂😂
🤣 Love your comment.
@@karenmorrison8112 it's the universal love for noggins that brings us all together.
What about an álbum...i add noggin going change by love for you, glen mentiroso,1980s.
The chateau should be renamed “Chateau de la Noggins”. 😂😂😂
Chateau du Caboches noggins)
can you stop doing so much drugs? I literally could not think of a worse name
😂
No, please, this is France
@@lizdavies264c’est une blague j’imagine qu’en France vous connaissez! 🤪
Dan started with a spade and wheelbarrow with a semi flat tire to machinery and amazing tools. How his world has changed.
To think that a year ago, I had never heard of a noggin and now I’m so excited about them! 😂
Sad
@@lizdavies264but funny and true for a lot of us. 😂😂
😂😂
@@lizdavies264what a miserable comment
It's good to remember the true meaning of noggin day and not just get lost in the feasting and the gifts.
I enjoy most the feats of strength and maths calculations races! 🤪😉😊 but the feasting is 👍👍
And we are **blessed** to have so many noggin days in one year.
Don't forget the egg-nogg'n 🇦🇺
😝😝😻😻👌👍🙏
Novel idea for transporting the noggins. Using your brain to save your feet. Not only are two rooms floored, I am too!
Work smarter not harder
He really used HIS noggin on that. 😇
😂
Is it me, or is Dan getting broader through the shoulders and chest?
Someone suggested that in the comments and he replied!
The clamp carrying trick was genius!
I think it was suggested in the comments 😊
It shows Dan has a handle on the Noggin issue
Wasn’t possible until he put in the stairway/rampway.
One Man Assembly Line ❤
Live the noggin purses.
We're totally floored by your accomplishments.
😂😂😂
🤣🤣🤣
🤦♀️🤦♀️🤦♀️
Reopening the bbq area was so uplifting. Like a parks and gardens season opening. One day when your smoking cigars in the den, whilst spying a winged beast from your monocular through the French doors of the balconette. You’ll remember the times you lads all sat around drinking, smoking and farting sharing a laugh and showing each other calluses, thinking about who planted what trees and Ofcourse, if you screwed in those last lot of noggins that time 😳.
No really, how fondly you will recall these times with your fellow chateau builders. You’ve all grown in wisdom and knowledge n mateship together. Those forests will always be a home to those memories.
After all that gardening I was so happy to see a NOGGIN video again !!!
Next week will be fantastic, it will be like going all the way to the beginning again ... just faster, better, more automated !!!
Yes, from an experienced construction professional's point of view, he wasted time on the landscaping which he should have held back to next year. Now he has realised his error and is doing the back section asap.
You're working smarter, not harder. The new equipment has made things easier for you too. I can hardly wait till the second roof goes up.
SAME!!!!!
The roof is tricky..maybe with one done the second will be easier..let's hope so😊
I love how you keep transforming this sad ruin, into something a person can live in. Amazing work!
Mowing your lawn like a regular home/chateau owner.
Cannot contain myself, super excited for that 3rd monstrosity of a wing...
Its the main entrance and center of the bulding, not a wing.
@@happykt Doubt that it was ever used as the main entrance, the turret (technical term: avant-corps or risalit if you're german) with the granite columns and grand arches is far more suited and was always used exactly for this.
To be fair, I’ve been so looking forward to the next part, it looks fascinating and I love the window sitting all on its own surviving all the weather throws at it. Take care 🌸
What an achievement. Completely roofed by the end of the summer! Wow.
It is really exiting what have you achieved almost by yourself in such a short time. Keep it up!
I’m lying here in my hospital bed wishing for more noggins going in and feel a little bit cheated. But well I did enjoy the bit that you did show us. Lol. You are getting to near the end of things there, it’s very exciting and can’t hardly wait until Monday. Have a great weekend Dan.
Sending you very best wishes for your health. Great to have Dan to take your mind off things!
Here's to a quick return to better health & home.
@@tinycotswoldcottage thank you dear, hopefully I’ll go home tomorrow and go to see a specialist to sort me out. Thank you for your kind thoughts.
Sending healing hugs. Love ❤️ 🇿🇦
@@penelopemayson6530 I’m ex South African so I appreciates your thoughts. I’m in Utah USA now though❤️
Using the large clamps to transport the noggins is using your noggin wisely. This is exciting! 👏☺️✌️🐾🐾🇱🇷
I think creating floors in the middle section will give the chateau greater strength.
Once again, you absolutely amaze me with your ingenuity by clamping several noggins together and carrying them like a purse 🧨🧨🧨🎆🎇
Haute couture straight from France. These days, the stylish man of the world carries handy men's bags from Louis Nuiggon. ;)
💕Up up & away to get all the roofs on together making you watertight for autumn & winter💕
In his latest book "The Chateau and Me" well known TV presenter and historical Chateau renovator Daniel Preston remembers " I have never had thigh muscles like that before or since he chuckled"
Grand staircase to a landing at the central window, splits into stairs on each side above the entry doors but won’t constrict the height, and staircases continue in those above door spaces. May not work for your space but a girl can dream!
Please like and subscribe, lets get Dan to 500K
OMG ONLY 8k left!!! 🎉🎉🎉
80K views and only 15K likes. We can do better than this, people.
Cant happen! I'm even thinking of leaving the channel. I've been watching the same thing for two years - how he puts some beams and that's it. I'm fed up. It worked without any plan, antilogically and without consistency. I don't know how green and environmental organizations haven't jumped on the bandwagon of timber waste yet? You and Dan stay to watch the floor joists being put in for another two years, and when it comes to furnishing, write to me. I guess I'll be retired by then and have plenty of free time to read another Good Morning
Yeeeees❤️❤️❤️And Nearly 500000 subs.. i started here with a few hundred years back
Well, you can do it Dan, you have accomplished so much in a relatively short amount of time. When I first saw the building, I thought it would be a miracle to be able to resurrect it. A miracle has happened in the name of Dan and his mates. You have the vision you have the ability and you’re doing it really really well. Thank you for the videos Dan I do enjoy watching the progress. It’s a beautiful area, beautiful gardens and I love the dogs 🐶!!👏👏👏👏❤️❤️❤️
Chateau looking very majestic against the blue sky..... so far so good. Rhododendrons are a gorgeous colour. You're getting niftier by the minute Dan! LOL
You are a master at putting these noggins in place Dan! So excited for you. All the best. Your grounds are looking so nice. Can't wait for this section to get done!!! All the best.
Oh Dan you lucky boy having all those wonderful toys to play with how generous of the machinery people it's certainly made your life easier, I bet your helpers are happy to ,that front bit looks as if it's going to topple over, hope you get it sorted before it does, onwards and upwards great work as usual,
A Noggin Suitcase! How lovely🎉
Using the clamps as noggin handles. WELL DONE 👍😀
The next month will have some great videos and make a huge difference in moving forward. Can't wait!!
Keep up the great stories and vision of your work Dan, … I am getting a bit old and slow but there is no bloody way in the world I am going to disappear under the grass until you get this chateau fully renovated !
I'm sooo excited we are getting soooo close to the final "5" floors... the ROOF 1,2,3 go on!!
I am bouncing with excitement! It is so thrilling to watch you accomplish every single step even if it's just cutting noggins that is a big step forward! I can't wait to see what happens on Monday, I'm going to warn you though, I'm going to be waiting very impatiently for it. Lol! I hope you guys have an amazing weekend!
This episode showcases the man snd his mission, in the joy of his fullness(?) This is one of the happiest Dans that I’ve EVER seen. I started following as you were stealing shingles from one barn to put them on, but that’s another time and another chateau. I’m happy for you, and your happy life is infectious. Thanks for sharing your life, work, and passion, as always. ❤️☮️🏰
I wish you would produce longer videos, I'd dang sure watch them. Y'all take care.
So exciting! Thanks for the update Dan. Very pleased you’ll be roofing in summer not the depths of winter. When you and Nick were finishing the lining in gale force winds - omg that was scary!!
Using your noggin is mostly what it's about, including the simplifying of moving the noggins from where sawed to where they will be installed.
Maybe thinning out the trees has helped the flow of underground water to fill the pool?
I was wondering if someone in the area has opened a dam on one or more streams and water that was being held back might be flowing again and are once again filling up the underground water table? It's just a thought I had....
@@bluebird1239 Couldn't say, however, from the looks of ariel videos, the house is sitting on top or a small mountain or large hill. I doesn't seem likely it would be in position to receive runoff from upstream. I suspect it will dry out as the summer gets hotter and dryer. Dan needs to get busy and do as much lyme, mortar and plaster work as he can while he has plenty of free water.
Good morning! Good afternoon! Good evening! 🎉
Every day of work you do bring the end that much closer, keep the faith.
So efficient carrying all those noggins at one time. Love it.
So amazing to be reminded of how far this project has come and also how far it has to go. Dan your get-on-with-it attitude is inspiring and many of us mere mortals would have been daunted by the size of this challenge. Also we must remember all the extra work in setting up the camera in twenty locations a day!
All the joy of spring turning into summer. Dan you are a star.
I’m excited to see what this is! The race to the top is on
You've come so far, if you can get the floors and roof on by the end of the year, you've cracked it. I'm so excited like everyone else for you, Dan. 😊🇬🇧
Exciting project, love watching those floors go back in, step by step, noggin by noggin the beautiful chateau is coming back to life again.
I love plans coming into existence.... roof on in autumn.... epic
Clever idea on transporting those noggins! 👍👍
That was definitely the kiss of approval at the end 😀🐶
Loved the shot looking up at the noggined floor. Scrumptious!
Love the use of the clamps to carry the noggins. I'd never have thought of it. But now I know what to do if I ever have to do something like that.
That is the cutest ride-on lawnmower that I have ever seen. So glad that you got one Dan. A Noggin day.....Yippie!! This chateau is really coming along very quickly!!
My 85 year old Mum is now watching and looking forward to each new episode.
Hand in the air everyone and sway - “We are the noggin’s, we are the future, we are the one that make a brighter day so let’s start noggining!” 😂😂😂
1:53 Finally... Noggins, the musical !!!
dont encourage him.
Lol Dan you are the only one with noggins. Your dogs have so much fun.i cant wait to see Nick and you to take the middle on. Ill see you Monday
Orange pant guy (Calvin) will be here too. I'm wondering if Cameron will be back, not heard anything about him.
Go for it guys. It’s been an amazing process so far
“The nice summer sun” ….. I hope you feel that way roofing during the summer heat
Love seeing the old footage along with the current work …. You have come so far in a short time!!!!
Hey, Dan! Good to see you today!
Dan it seems is is a genius
Big Dan, thank you for the Beatles noggin song, that made my day, been a Beatles fan for 60yrs !! We'll see ya Monday
So fun to discover hidden spaces. It's a castle 🏰 most everyone would love. Bravo for chasing the dreams we can never fulfill.
I would love to see Dan leave an open area on the 3rd wing to run a materials elevator. There will be tons of render alone that will need to be lifted up to the upper floors before this place is finished.
It's really amazing that you've come this far so quickly.
What beautiful grounds now that you have created the garden area and made some paths through the woods.
I love this project. Monday will be exciting!
There was Noggin the Nog, and Nog Bad the bad, but you are probably too young to remember. Looking forward to the arrival of the Viking army and watch those floors fly up.
You’ve invented NOGGIN CARRIERS!!
Onward and upward we go! Loved some noggins today and looking forward to singing hail, hail the gangs all here! Have a lovely weekend Dan!!!
That has to be the most interesting looking lawn mower I've ever seen.
Roofs in summer - such a concept! I just remember you and Nic toiling in the pouring rain - in harnesses - putting on those roof coverings. But it's amazing to see how the chateau has changed in just, what?, 18 months? And the rhododendrons I spied briefly are beautiful!
Dan please wear safety glasses
Hugs to the family
🐶❤️🐶❤️
Can’t wait for this big push 😁😁😁Just look how far you’ve got Dan. So impressive ✅✅✅✅✅✅
There's always *something* to do...
Looking forward to this part of the rebuild. Do it safely. ❤
Ohhhh this is going to be
Exciting whoooo 👍💫
Oh, Dan, what a pretty cement mixer!!
What an exciting milestone Dan!
We are almost done!!!! Pretty soon we will be clothing the Grand Dame in Fabulous Clothes!!
And oh, all the decisions to be made!
The progress is unbelievable! It really will be exciting to see how you etthis part done. Well done, Dan!
I enjoy that you are rebuilding back history instead of tearing it all down and try to rebuild like it was but new they way allot of projects do where I live in the us😢 congrats to you have loved all the progress and where it is now keep up the amazing work brother 💪😎💪
A noggin song! I have tears in my eyes.
Nice voice, and another talent of Dan’s 👍
Better than his whistling! 😅
Dan plays drums so I guess he's musical. Probably has a good singing voice too.
Better stick to whistling! 😬
Ode to the noggin, love it. 🎶🙂
Your working smarter, figuring out the best way to take things up in bulk. Nice.
Hello from 🇨🇦My parents use to say “ watch out for your noggin, or take care of your noggin.”
Well that's using your noggin
My dad would say that when you would say something intelligent, or as he would say... Above your grade level!
Awesome ! Dan , I can`t wait to watch it all.🥰
This summer is going to be so exciting. I can't wait.
I cannot wait to see you reconstructing the third part of your chateau. I think that will be the most interesting one! Bonne chance!🍀
maybe there being fewer trees sucking up the water means the water can now fill the pool
Haha Love the Noggin Carrier and tune I hope our Noggin excitement takes the boring out of the task for you!
amazing progress after seeing all the debris and foliage in the chateau
I'm french, and It's really Amazing what you do! You give me motivation for my home! Thanks you for the rénovation for the french patrimoine !
At one with the noggins 🙏
Hey Dan, great idea with the clamps for carrying the noggins! There is a tool for carrying bricks as well. Your clamp idea reminded me of the brick carrier I used when I was tending a bricklayer.
Keep on keeping on Dan!
Yes, I used that brick carrying tool, trying to remember if we called it 'brick tongs', maybe something like that? It was metal, adjustable and maybe carried about 10 bricks or so. I see they are making the tongs out of plastic as well now. Also there is a tuck pointing tool that is various widths depending on the width of the mortar joint that Dan might want to use if he has exterior brick that needs to be seen with a clean mortar joint. I have never seen any videos with anyone in France using the narrow tuck pointing tool.
Exciting stuff Dan! Enjoyed your noggin song & your noggin carrier 🙂
Oooh That is exciting, the whole team together.🎉🎉🎉🎉
