This was the best game I ever played in my life. As a little kid, this was all I played whenever I got home. I 100% completed the game, and did the next. Ahh, those were the days...
I recall standing at the edge of the cliff in this level from where you could see all the places you had visited before and just let this music play. It was pure magic~ Always used to calm me down as a kid, even on the worse days...love this soundtrack.
really? this level had a design that it was almost impossible to get lost, there are only 2 roads at start and they connect like two times, now the real map where you can get lost is spider cave
This song is my favorite but it always gives me the biggest nostalgic heartburn ever because this is what got me into games in the first place... And why I love listening to game music
I know you posted this 2 years ago m8 but your soooooo not alone. I specifically go back to this track cus I genuinely feel a huge rush of emotion when I envision this game and being a child. Nostalgia is a very cruel mistress..
It took me years to finally find that Power cell that was in a frozen block of ice , and the only reason I got it because I was randomly throwing yellow eco out of frustration for not finding it , and I was lucky in enough to be in range of where it was hidden and I got it by total accident 😂
What I totally loved about this game was it's great soundtrack with every location. This has to be my favorite. Snowy Mountain is my all-time favorite location because it reminds me of all the times I played this game on a snowy day. Ironically, Boggy Swamp reminds me of all the times I played on a rainy day
i love the atmosphere of this level i love the soundtrack back in my child hood i loved snowy mountain level after the horrible spider cave which im scared of spiders
I get a little heartburn for a second by having those flashback as a child when I was 5. Now I'm 19 years old, I remember the era of Jak adventures from Jak 1 - Jak X Combat Racing. Fun moments that I can't never forget.
You know what made the ice floors even worse? The Hopping Snow Lurkers; The ones that you find in the cave ambush on this level, they'd always use to knock me off at the slippery bridges... Don't even get me started on those slippery bridges.
This is my favourite level in the entire game. Look at the horizont up in the snowy mountain when its night.... There´s no other beautiful game that beats this....
Strange how no elves appear in this level. Makes it more deserted and strange. Especially when Jak wears that casual outfit, i'm sure that he'd froze to death.
I would listen to this piece for hours! Loved the game and series. Got this in 2005 and would watch my sister play this, finally picked up the mantle after her and beat 1-3. Never got around to finishing Jak X (loved the OST in that game for sure) but driving was not for me or how I envisioned a Jak game to go. Lol definitely remembered those pesky snow lurkers jump scaring me - those jerks. Loved my childhood for sure!
Up to this day I'll always remember how as a child, I was running from snow lurkers and that demon iceboi, on my last health, and I ran behind some trees. Yeah. "Some trees". You remember them now, dontcha?
remember and still do would get lost in the music and stare at the final Area's tall towers. not only were they menacing and foreshadowing things to come, but it was also beautiful, the music and the fact you can see all the area's you visited in the game, that was probably some of my favorite memories playing the original jak and Daxter.
i remember being 5 back in 2001 when this game came out, and my friend, who literally lived the mailbox over, brought this game over and his memory card. He was at this level and it was the first time id ever seen this game in action. He let me and my brother borrow i. I had no idea how far into the game this level was lmao...
This takes me back fifteen years ago, when I started playing the series as one came after another. This was one of my first PS2 games back in the day and obviously still my favorite at heart. Now I'm 18 and I will never forget how much I enjoyed this when I was younger. The first J&D was always the best videogame in terms of its score and music and we're already leaving 2017. Time flies way too much for these sort of videogames.
This was my favorite game as a kid, to this day it's still great to play on my ancient PS2 I grew up listening to metal and Wintereisse by Coldworld always takes me back to this game haha!
jak and daxter was one of the first games I ever saw when I was little. I really hope they make another jak and daxter because its defiantly in my top ten favorite video games.😍
I wandered around for 2 hours trying to find ONE orb. And I got it walking thru the snow by pure chance. I almost cried. I'd walked in that area multiple times
Just recently 100% precursor legacy again and the magic still hits, snowy mountain is one of the best level designs and layouts in any game I’ve ever played. I still remember finding the path behind the trees that leads to the yellow eco switch for the first time as a kid, I was blown away 😂
This game has best ambient music ive heard. You can hear the wind howling here and the spider cave theme sounds like water dropping from the caves ceiling
So much nostalgia here. I remember being obsessed at the age of ten. The feeling of being far into the game yet not quite near the end was exciting and the massive adventure this felt like was just so huge to me as a kid. I beat the game right when it came out again on ps4 in about 12 hours total. Still one of my favorites of all time
I remember that i was end game around christmas/new year period in 2005. This theme will forever remind me about that period in my life. Christmas at the grandparents. long gone now..
The infinitely spawning Snow Lurkers here kinda scared me as a child. Part of the nostalgia I get from this amazing game was remember how I'd kill a couple Snow Lurkers then jump on the blocker/run for safety.
I still remember how i got lost on snowy mountain. After hours I was finally able to get back down and i went straight into the spider cave. I thought snowy mountain was bad but this... oh ma gawd I was lost for days.
The frozen waterfall caused me so much rage as a kid, specially with that button-switch with the barrier near it. If you angled yourself in the wrong way, you weren't able to stop in time to avoid falling off of the waterfall, since you were walking on ice.
Ice floors, Snow Lurkers who'd spawn infinitely, Hopping Lurkers, oh and those two Precursor blockers that would bounce you off the edge to certain death. This was the real shit back then.
Did you know that if you look closely in the background from one of the ice floors (the path to the Lurker-infested cave) you can see Gol and Maia's citadel with the surrounding dark eco silos in the distance?
I remember trying to scrape up easy powercells when I was younger and I got utterly destroyed here imma get this game again and i believe it will be a cake walk
I’m convinced that kids who played this hate current generation games, just like me. We compare it to this game. Don’t even get me started on jak 2 and 3
ugh i always get a headache with the loud bear/sasquatch stock audio the yeti and ice lurkers make. this was a pretty n-ice snow level with ice physics that i'm actually not annoyed with. least favorite lurkers are those goddamn bunnies! they can rot with the metal-mantis and krimson guards!! and my most favorites are the glacier troops, they just look menacing and cool and i like their red eco-esque attack
yeah shame all youtube soundtracks for the jak and daxter series are in bad quality, till now, ive uploaded the soundtrack of the entire trilogy and jak x in high quality
This was the best game I ever played in my life. As a little kid, this was all I played whenever I got home. I 100% completed the game, and did the next. Ahh, those were the days...
Facts
Mee to man
Seconded!
This and metal were the best on ps2 to me
im played this beautiful game 34 times 100% i love this :)
I recall standing at the edge of the cliff in this level from where you could see all the places you had visited before and just let this music play. It was pure magic~
Always used to calm me down as a kid, even on the worse days...love this soundtrack.
same with the cliff on jak 2 outside the portal in haven forest, overlooking the city
Got lost so much on this level.
sebastianali are you guys serious? You don’t need a map with how genius the level design is.
@@sebastiankulche I really don't think Jak's level design is that complex dude. You can 100% it in less than 8 hours if you're thorough.
really? this level had a design that it was almost impossible to get lost, there are only 2 roads at start and they connect like two times, now the real map where you can get lost is spider cave
@@SaberRexZealot Change my mind, it wasnt too bad. Only the Spider Cave was a pain, but the rest is a masterpiece.
It's painful, beautiful though
This song is my favorite but it always gives me the biggest nostalgic heartburn ever because this is what got me into games in the first place... And why I love listening to game music
Yeah, I've slowly realized that modern pop culture really sucks compared to things like this. Why isn't there a radio station for video games?
same man this was my very first! All the way back in 2001
I know you posted this 2 years ago m8 but your soooooo not alone. I specifically go back to this track cus I genuinely feel a huge rush of emotion when I envision this game and being a child.
Nostalgia is a very cruel mistress..
Game music suck ass now compared to before 2010
I Will Never Forget This Awesome Game :´ )
It took me years to finally find that
Power cell that was in a frozen block of ice , and the only reason I got it because I was randomly throwing yellow eco out of frustration for not finding it , and I was lucky in enough to be in range of where it was hidden and I got it by total accident 😂
Damn it you really spoiled it for me now cause I was just planning completing this game 100 percent
What I totally loved about this game was it's great soundtrack with every location. This has to be my favorite. Snowy Mountain is my all-time favorite location because it reminds me of all the times I played this game on a snowy day. Ironically, Boggy Swamp reminds me of all the times I played on a rainy day
So peaceful and relaxing.
Until the lurkers start chasing you
i love the atmosphere of this level i love the soundtrack back in my child hood i loved snowy mountain level after the horrible spider cave which im scared of spiders
dont play Jak 2
XRT-3XREME-C0M8ATG4M1N9 PR0DUCT1ONZ I hated Gol and Maia's Citadel the most.
+MusicStarBoo90 lmao or any other one, the first one is the best
@@ilovevolcomtk I think the third one is worth checking out. Jak 2 isn't that good, but Jak 3 is pretty great.
I get a little heartburn for a second by having those flashback as a child when I was 5. Now I'm 19 years old, I remember the era of Jak adventures from Jak 1 - Jak X Combat Racing. Fun moments that I can't never forget.
I feel you bro, i still remember all 600 of those hours spent on Jak X Combat Racing, let alone the 3 other games
Now your 23
@@Makkaru112 now hes 26/27
Listening to just this track alone makes me nervous, I'm still terrified of the ice lurkers popping out of the snow whenever they want D:
They always scare the shit outta me
The thing i hated the most about this level: Ice floors.
You know what made the ice floors even worse? The Hopping Snow Lurkers; The ones that you find in the cave ambush on this level, they'd always use to knock me off at the slippery bridges... Don't even get me started on those slippery bridges.
Or trying to hop on those force field things, getting bumped and falling off the level.
No shit sherlock.
svennetjes
Salty much?
+Tycro Rogers He doesn't know what it's like to actually play the game and feel the music. Not with that attitude anyways lol
snowy mountain is my favorite area in this game and the music for snowy mountain!😍
Had this game on PS2 and bought the Trilogy. It's the only game in which i've got a platinum trophy ^^
Caillouverarscher I got my first platinum trophy in this game :)
+LockerGremlin GG
I beat the game, then got all the power cells, that was my first gold.
Caillouverarscher it’s on PS4 now bro
Lovely game & lovely song! What I like most was the flut-flut ;)
the 'flut flut' lmao
I got a real laugh from that. Yes, flut fluts were a thing
This is my favourite level in the entire game. Look at the horizont up in the snowy mountain when its night.... There´s no other beautiful game that beats this....
Ahh, such nostalgia
Such a beautiful song
It’s a shame the environment is one of my top 5 least favourite levels in the game
I mean like I forgot the song but when I heard it again I remember the entire song like a freaking flash back! Love that feeling :)
Hurray for infinite Snow Lurkers -_-
Now if you excuse me, I will undergo a major nostalgia attack now. :D
Strange how no elves appear in this level. Makes it more deserted and strange.
Especially when Jak wears that casual outfit, i'm sure that he'd froze to death.
I guess Green Eco protects you from frostbite or something.

I think of this song whenever I see snow falling outside. It's so perfectly matches snowy weather~
Man childhood nostalgia is killing me rn
Adult life been so hard lately. Longing for the days of coming home and playing ps2 all night, no worries..
❤
This will forever remain my favorite level
Holy hell 9 years ago jeez
@@prohawkk and I can confirm it still is my favourite level. :3

101 powercells.. 100% the game.. 3 times..
I think it’s time for the 4th.
This game is an absolute masterpiece❤️.
The first game has always been the best one ever. I agree.
I really love everything about snowy mountain including the sound track
When times seemed simpler.
Hearing this VGM kind of reminds me of when I was 2 years old going snow boarding where I was born in Buffalo, New York. The year was 1996.

Flareon girl Me too!!
Flareon girl I got a ps2 for Christmas so now I can play all the Jak and Daxter games.
gamingWithArvin cool!
Flareon girl thanks.
this was by far the HARDEST stage to get all the precursor orbs in
The underwater city was a pain too. Having to slide into all the boxes
I wandered around for 2 hours trying to find ONE orb. And I got it walking thru the snow by pure chance. I almost cried. I'd walked in that area multiple times

Even in 2017 this soundtrack still kicks ass
Ahhh another long lost song of most of our childhoods
MAKE A FUCKING REMASTER OF THIS GAME PPPLLLLLZZZZZZZ
Justin Perry they did on ps3
It is also on PS4.
I love this Soundtrack so much.
This song is the only reason why I played snowy mountain.
