    I have followed all your videos and have to admit, attempt to duplicate your process because your method makes so much sense to my brain. As I mentioned before, it is so inspiring to me as I love the way watercolor behaves.
    I always look forward to your videos. You mentioned that the drawing process for you is a form of meditation. All of the art process is that for me. But didn't realize that until you described your perspective on "the process" to me.
    Please keep them coming. Thanks for sharing!

    Thank you for your videos, I am new to painting and love watercolors. You are giving me courage to take that first leap to paint my first picture. I was snapping photos of wildflowers, today.

    Thank you for your very thorough presentations. I've dabbled with watercolor off and on over the past few years. Came across your website and videos when i was researching the best way to stretch watercolor paper, and have found them to be most excellent. In the past i've just winged it and that is how the paintings turned out. Have really been inspired by your presentations and have been putting your instructions into practice with much improved results. Thank you, thank you. Just wanted to know how grateful i am for your taking the time to provide these inspirational videos.

    Your instruction is superb I only wish that my high school teacher finds your channel where ever she is because she so loved watercolor and tried to instill that love in me unfortunately what she loved was the paintings and truly had no technique or true understanding of the basics you share so generously. Her instinct was don't waste, use only the seven basic primary colors to achieve ever color needed for the composition, and draw all details in before applying any paint. I find her instruction handcuffed me into admiring the paintings instead of experiencing the joy of creation but I am retraining myself thanks to you.

      Hi,
      It’s important to tackle painting head on and get right into it. Once you start working with the materials you will gradually make discoveries and find your own path. I hope my videos provide people with enough technical information and guidance to give you them the confidence and support to start painting. It’s great that you’re painting again, and thanks for watching my videos!

      realisticart Great news. You are on my RUclips subscription so I won't miss any videos. Do you usually make a smaller version of a larger one?

    • @realisticart
      @realisticart  10 лет назад +1

      Hi Linda,
      Sometimes, but not always. Since I didn't include anything on how to lay out the drawing in the larger watercolor because it would have made the video way too long, I thought it would be helpful to do a quick study and include the drawing stage. The quick study also helped me make composition decisions for the larger piece, and I'll be doing more quick study watercolor videos.

    You know that I love your work and style of painting flowers. And I am astonished to see at the beginning of the video the large piece of watercolour paper because it deviates from your small and tiny works. Is it possible for once making a timelape of such a great painting. I don't know if it is possible to use the same techniques in large sizes. ;)

    • @realisticart
      @realisticart  10 лет назад +6

      Hi Eric,
      I’ve been thinking about doing something like that!! My large paintings require approximately 100 hours of actual painting time! Time lapse is a good idea! Right now I’m working on an instructional digital painting video with time lapse elements, and it works nicely. For a large painting maybe I should just position the camera and record the entire process. Thanks for your suggestion, and for watching my videos!!

    Another great video thanks!! I use aqua-brushes with watercolour pencils have not tried the paint inside did you premix in a pot then pour in or did you put tube paint into the resevoir and add water to the aqua-brush??

    • @realisticart
      @realisticart  10 лет назад +2

      Hi Nick,
      An aqua brush with watercolor pencils is a great combination! I premixed the paint down to the consistency that I normally use for my washes, and used a large eyedropper to fill the aqua brushes. Once the brush is filled with watercolor paint, it’s important to shake it occasionally while painting. Glad that you like this video, and thanks for watching!!!

    Your work is absolutely beautiful. I love your work. I have a question for your. What kind of paper do you used in this painting or better what is the brand name of your pad? It seems not to be shrinking on you.
    Thanks for your videos they are wonderful and your voice relaxes me.

      Hi Iliana, Sorry its taken so long to answer your question. I've been away from RUclips for awhile, but I'm back and will be posting new instructional videos on a regular basis.
      In this video, i'm painting in my Moleskine Watercolor Album, Large, Black, Hard Cover (5 x 8.25) . I use this for sketching. When I'm not painting in a pad, I use Arches, cold press 140 or 300lb watercolor paper. Thanks for watching.
