Maybe learn what the fuck you're talking about before spouting off. The metallurgy on the VSKA is severely flawed, no "proper taking care of it" will fix it. The only way to properly take care of a VSKA is to throw it in the trash or sell it to a tard like you who thinks you're getting a great deal.

    I bought a VSKA three days ago, while I have yet to fire it, I have taken it apart to give it a good clean and lube.
    ~I think the VSKA is well built, inside and out. The stock pistol grip feels good in my hand.
    ~My VSKA has a single-stage trigger with no take-up at all. It has an icicle kind of crisp break and I love it much.
    ~Century Arms has a bad reputation with their American made AK Rifles, but given the materials the VSKA is made from, I'm hoping for better results. It has the appearance of a well made AK Rifle.

    I think it’s a classic beauty and American made, good choice. I picked up the RAS AK-47 from them (I think yours is better) to replace my WASR I regrettably sold. AKOU may down play them but for my use it’s fine. Thanks for posting!!!👍🏼

    • @GBGuns
      @GBGuns  6 лет назад +4

      Thank you for that comment. Some people look at the AKOU tests and only their tests. I would too if I planned on going to war with my AK and abusing the snot out of it, but for 99% of us those tests are simply impractical and not applicable.

    • @TheRoadhammer379
      @TheRoadhammer379 6 лет назад +3

      Impractical? Shooting 5000 rounds is unrealistic to the two of you? Are you trying to imply that AKOU doing push-ups with a rifle is a contributing factor to trunnion damage, soft metal on bolts peening over or locking lug deformation? Graham, this comment by you had absolutely ruined any and all credibility you had. If neither of you consider any of the aforementioned issues a genuine problem, then you are both delusional. Any ak that fails a GO-NO GO test after 1000 - 5000 rounds is a pile of shit.

    • @TheRoadhammer379
      @TheRoadhammer379 6 лет назад

      Downplay them? If a firearm cannot survive 5000 rounds, without swallowing a NO GO gauge, then it's unsafe... period end. Enjoy your American beauty, and while you are at it, go buy an I. O. INC or C39v2 and enjoy your unsafe firearms.

      @Jim Morrison Your c39v2 has numerous vids on swallowing a NO GO gauge, it's a real winner. You might have a good one, but others say different. Loose rivets on trunnion, excessive throat wear and other issues. Most people who like Century are fair weather shooters, shoot a few times a year and put it back in the safe. People who tend to dislike Century actually owned one and the hate is genuine.

      Some folks subscribe to an issue non gunsmiths had with early production guns. Production has changed greatly (I documented this in Ballistic Magazine) and have spoken with people who build AKs. The early early (first 100% American made) guns had issues. The modern models don't.

      Yes, to finally gather enough craftsmen to produce an American AK en masse isn't easy. It requires more skill and care than assembling ARs, and sadly that's hard to find in the US these days. Lots of great American craftsmen, even a few great AK builders, but to produce the numbers Century does is a feat!

    My son Just bought a Thunder Ranch VSKA AK. Turns out Century Arms is still a Garbage Gun Maker! 15 years ago I bought a Century wsar10 ...Sights were almost as crooked as the rivets....a few year latter i bought an RPK ... a bigger version of the first AK...fast forward 12 years and the sights are straight but the rifle wont even work. My son tried to load a round and the action jammed without firing a single round. Took off the Dust cover and removed the spring , Needed a mallet to get the action open, What we found was a scratched shell and even worse a nice impact on the primer with no trigger pull. He is trying to get it back to them but they don't want to answer phones and has to resort to Email. Point is RUclipsrs Get cherry guns to review .... You and I get Garbage guns to buy! I suggest You pass on any gun made by Century Arms. 3 rifles over 15 years, each and every one was crap!

    • @GBGuns
      @GBGuns  3 года назад +1

      Primer indentation happens whenever a round is chambered, just like an AR. If there's not a spring to hold the firing pin back (which some AKs have, but most do not). What was the ammo? What type of magazine? Was the magazine properly locked?

    • @johninphx9360
      @johninphx9360 3 года назад

      @@GBGuns it was tula ammo. The strike was deep but not enough to go off. The stuck in chamber problem is still happening with dummy rounds too. Need a mallet to get it open , no ammo loaded everything seems to work fine .

    Until Ak Operators Union get done with their testing on Century Arms VSKA, I am not going to buy it. For the C39v2 rifle was a total fiasco using cast metal in many of their parts. This made me decide to buy Arsenal AK-47 SAM7SF rifle, which in my opinion is far superior to anything Century Arms have.

    Well what other choice do we have if we like ak47 it's either try and buy a 1,200.00 dollar and up ak47 which is hard to do because even if you got the money people are always out of stock or these lower end ones that companies skimp on and don't make right. Back in they days there was good ones all over what the hell happened like maadi I spelled that wrong but o well. And Bulgarian and polish hell it's even getting a little hard to finde wasr any more. Now we are getting stuck with this bull shit junk. All we want is a God dam ak47 that is a fucking ak we want it made right with no skimp and made with good parts no cheap ass cast parts or 4140 shit for a bearrle. What I want in an ak47 hammer forged bearrel that's chrome lined, steel trunons front and back steel bolt and bolt carrier not shitty cast, rivets to be properly fitted good trigger that's ak spec no canted sights a mags that fit properly, stocks that stay tight, and good internal parts. How the fuck hard is it to make a gun right. We all need to stop buying this junk shit till they get the hint we want real ak47 not no cheap as junk we need to tell the companies we not spending a dime till they come up with what we want a a reasonable price with no skimping on shit. It's sad people put down the wasr but I never had one fail and they are still better then the newer shit that comes out today.
