Addiction is only about willpower, some people can resist, some cannot, survival of the fittest, which we’ve got nothing left of in our solidary societies. If people didn’t get help for their aedictions, especially lethal drugs, those people would just die off, leaving the strong behind, keeping humanity strong by giving the strongest genes to the next generation, and not bother soecity with their issues. Sorry, but I don’t have any compassion for these people. The help is there, but it’s up to them to get out of it at the end of the day. The middleground is of course people paying for their own treatment, but in my perfect world, lifestyle medicine wouldn’t exist, only healthy lifestyles. People become weak and lazy knowing that their parents, family, society, and healthcare system is always there to save them. We should have a serious debate about “survival of the fittest”, cause we can’t keep going spending 1000’s billions of dollars each year on healthcare and alike. And the climate could really also use fewer humans living on the planet, just an objective fact.
@ncard00 Society is so stupid, and honestly their help is useless, I've been to thousands of therapists, psychologists, I've talked to so many people and my mental health is still messed up, you say that because you don't go through any real addiction, or some mental illness that can disrupt 100% of your life all the time, and that's it. The show Euphoria is meant to portray the ups and downs of addicts especially at an age where you are trying to figure life out, with that being said it doesn’t hurt to show a little remorse and humanness for others even when you don’t understand, and hopefully you’ll never understand what rue and other addicts have to go through. I like Euphoria, but season 2 was a major retcon of season 1. The writers say how much fans wanted Rue & Jules to be together and went with it. In season 1 Jules cnleadly isn’t as into Rue as Rue is into Jules. It’s a story of unrequited love/attraction-which is something everyone can relate to-but just a modern version of that story, with a black nonbinary person and a trans girl.
