Camping - On the Ground Fire

- Spent some time camping in the high desert. Decided to build a on the ground fire instead of using my pop up pit. Typically I prefer my pop up pit because it's easy to setup and have the fire positioned exactly where I want it. Since I would be spending a few days in this location I took the time to set up a on the ground fire.

Your Primal Outdoors - Camping and Overlanding, I am living the van life in my Ford E350 4x4 Van traveling around the remote public land system in Oregon
Daisey, such an awesome dog. Wheeler is missed also. You were blessed with those wonderful animals as companions.
Another excellent video.
I may have mentioned in a post some time ago, my father's name was Wheeler and his mother, my grandmother, was named Daisy. My current canine friend is an English Cream Golden Retriever.. Caesar.
RIP to your Wheeler and a salute from us to you and to your Daisy.
I love seeing Daisey she always makes me smile after losing my old hound dog it was just to lonely so 2 weeks later i went to the pound and pulled another old dog and he's just the best buddy i love the old ones there special. I enjoy watching your videos keep them coming & save travels always
Thank you so much for sharing Daisy (and Wheeler) with us!
Found your channel through Donald, really love your videos. Both of you dont have annoying music, no aggressive "LIKE AND SUBSCRIBE", just good, natural content with beautiful scenery and narrative just like when having a chat. Also what I just discovered: It says a lot about a person, when the person is overlanding in the middle of nowhere, and still uses a helmet for the bike. I love that. Brain first, looks are much less of a priority.
I think Daisy just loves hangin out with her human. Wherever you go…she’s glad to be there. Great shots of her relaxing in her bed next to the van.
Loved the video- we look forward to seeing daisy each time you post.
Growing up my family had a golden retriever that lived 16 years! He seemed so old but was always such a good boy. Your Daisy reminded me of him.
Always look forward to your videos Jason. Great scenery, great camping, great getaway for me. And great food!
I appreciate your care for you pup ❤️. Very nice 👌 video.
Daisy is a good girl. She's had a good life. Thanks for sharing!
Steve.
Jason, impeccable cinematography...as usual. Always well done.
This cannot be overstated. He does a fantastic job.
😎👀 Couldn’t ask for a better best friend than Daisy👍✌🏻
Loved this video. The beauty, the serenity, the amazing love between you and Daisey. Thank you🐾💛
You can thank us for the pile of firewood which we left there. Looks like you are the first visitor since we were there, so cool to see this spot again here in your video! If you want a flashback see our video, Winter Camping: Trip to Pine Ridge. Thanks for the video and hope you are doing well.
Now I gotta go check that video out too! 👍
Get over yourself. definitely NOT going to check out your video now.
I love your videos, Jason, but for whatever reason this was a top favorite. I suspect that Daisy had much to do with it. She's special to many of your viewers, I for one. I am a van lifer but my van is not equipped to go in any 4X4 required terrain. I'm happy to stick around the beaches and National parks. However, I am an explorer at heart and traveled around the world backpacking, mostly in my military years (16 of 23 spent overseas). I noticed you changed brands of whiskey. You got me hooked on Pendleton. I shop a lot at Trader Joe's and it is stocked there. Keep producing these incredible videos as they keep me enjoying the evenings wherever I spend my nights.
Daisy's sweater is classic.
Awww sweet Daisy girl!
Just thought I’d drop you a note and say hi Daisy looks like she’s still doing OK van looks great cool that you’re rocking an E bike finally getting nice to get out here in North Michigan I’ve been doing a lot of work on my truck thanks for the video ok 👌🏼🔥🤠🔥Camping Russ out
editing, music, daisy everything is perfect. watching it is like meditating
Keep hugging Daisy.
Good luck.
Old daisy looks like she’s ready for a nap about five minutes after she wakes up. I can relate…
Daisy your a good girl, sweet puppy. I’m glad to see you.
Living vicariously thru your stomach! That looked like great camp food but I'm getting heartburn just from watching! Cheers!
I waited days to watch this edit, for some reason 🤷♂️. Masterpiece! 👌
Thanks for sharing your idea of securing the canopy to your car. Great idea!
Great cinematography, I feel like I'm watching a movie. I'm trying to get this good!
She’s looking good for her age, but time is catching up for her, which is always sad with our pets. Great video from Indiana
Thank you Jason always love your content. Thank you for sharing your life and adventures I know it’s not easy..
Daisey is so so sweet.
Daisy is still doing it! Cherish these times.
I really like what you did to your van! It really looks like the perfect vehicle to go out and explore nature with. Also really cool that you decided to get the older model. I have the same one myself (mine is from 94 but stock). I'm leaving home today to travel from Amsterdam to Portugal. Fingers crossed 🤞
How much does it cost to build a van out and add 4 wheel drive if this is what he has and with the lift and bigger tires
Awesome video. Loved not only the video production but also the relaxing guitar music tied to it. 👍🇨🇦
Daisy best co-pilot/buddy, high desert of Eastern Oregon always epic spectacular views sunrise and sunset views are beautiful, keep doing what your doing brah love your channel, hang loose see you on the next one, will keep an eye out 👍🤙👊
You sure find the coolest spot , it is so breath taken totally cool
Dude at 7:47 that fire pit is amazing. The old one was terrible and in like 15 minutes it's perfect. Awesome skill bro.
All very good points. There is an art to vehicle camping. where is the wind, where is the sun, where is a good place for the fire pit.. but number 1- Get the pup water. that's always my first thing. After doing this for over 9 years I've learned a thing. lol
Hello 👋 Jason, greetings from Northern California. It's good to see you and Daisey again. You certainly eat some fine meals in the outdoors. You treat Daisey like a canine princess. All the best to you. Stay safe and healthy out there. 🤗
This is why I watch your channel beautiful and relaxing. Daisey has such a calming presence, Your videos are a wonderful escape!
Nice views. Daisey must of been tired sleeping while food is being made and eatn .sweet ol girl .
My pups would watch me make it looking at me like is that for us. Lol. Safe travels.
Gosh dang. Just a good camping video. Have fun out there, goodness knows I do!
Love your camerawork.
Nice music! I love the serenity of the desert! Hope your dog recovers! My Friends had the same breed and they fed their dog greenbeans every day to help digestion. Thanks for bringing us along!
Loved this one, super chill.
I have camped in the lost forest area a few times. I believe the pine stands are remint stands from times past when Central Oregon was much wetter. At the end of the ice age that area (fossil Lake) was under 200 feet of water. Climate and weather patterns change. I expect the small pines may have been cut to conserve water for the larger remaining pines. I expect more snow videos soon. Since Tuesday we have over inches of new snow pack up Skyliners. I do enjoy your videos.
Very peaceful thx
LOVE this. Thank you for sharing ❤Music is perfect.
Daisy radiates The Light of Love.
We get Lucky once in a while, don't we...
Most Excellent Video!.
Man, I miss seeing the pop up fire pit… 😂 this area though is my favorite. We just got back from there and watching your video with… sun, ahhh I already want to go back
So relaxing 😌 make more videos plz
Thanks for sharing, My love for Daisy. So long.
In my next life, I want to come back as your dog!! 💕
Your videos are motivating.
Pretty place.
Thanks for the video 😎👍
Enjoy 😊
Nice video Jason, thanks for sharing this video.
Fantastic content. Keep it up! Thank you
Nice. I live at a little over 5k elevation in New Mexico.
Love that camp spot, last time I was there it was so cold but beautiful. I too wondered about all those cut trees. Keep up the great work!
Always enjoy your videos. Daisy is a very special part of your life and we love to see her. Heres a suggestion, make a small change to her eating/drinking routine. Place the water and feed bowl about 6inches higher. Way easier for her to drink and eat.
Daisy ❤... good ol girl! Safe travels Jason.
Great video. As many others have said, Daisy is such a great pup...love her!! I'm heading out moto-camping next weekend and I might have to try polenta with one of my dinners. Thanks!
Awesome video as always!!
Truly Amazing!
Was excited when I saw the alert for a new one, thanks for bringing us this relaxing and wholesome content 🙏🏼
Love it buddy

I need to shoot b roll like you do. Your videos are always visually interesting.
Muy bueno amigo 💪👌👏
..cool video keep up the great content.. Thank you…
Awesome
Like pop up pit nice
Well done…
If the conditions warrant. I always like a good ground fire. Last year I bought a propane fire pit. If the local fire restrictions permit it. In late fall, winter and spring though I love a real wood fire to cook on, sit by in the evening. The guy who started the Sobranes fire last year down in Big Sur was sentenced today. 200,000 burned acres. 14 structures... California Condor nesting/breeding area. Multiple fire fighting personnel injured. 16 Felony charges. 26 years in prison. All I can say is if you have a camp fire, please be responsible for it.
Great video Jayson I like the location you should host a meet up there..😂
Another great video Jason, love watching daisy. Hoping one of your friends in your upcoming videos is Edward, have not seen or heard anything from him in awhile.
This was a superior episode, Jason.
You found a very sweet spot to camp, built a great fire pit, and went exploring on the e-bike.
It’s bittersweet with sweet Miss Daisy, though. She’s such a gentle soul, and obviously loves traveling with you.
You do such a great job accommodating her old age infirmities. Just wondering if you ever feed her an Advil or an aspirin to ease her pain.
Wishing you both well, and happy travels.
Start including your deer hunts on your program 🙏🏼
Glad to see you allocate time to just shut the camera off and enjoy time to yourself
Could you please share the coordinates, beautiful place for a few days camping while staring at the heavens! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Hey buddy I love your channel I live on a trawler in the Keys coming from Boston and Maine all the way down the Intercoastal Waterway we live the same way off-grid solar system generator propane you don't survival of the fittest hunters and gatherers I love the life I have a chocolate 13 year old Labrador Retriever just like yourself she's getting real old and real slow and so am I so I stopped slow down with her and we take it very slow I really enjoy your videos I've been doing that since I was a kid between the mountains campgrounds camp and the other half of my life at sea keep up the good work I love it keep them coming to stay dirty and muddy and keep your bar lubed🐟💯⚓🤙🚣💪💦💦
Thank you for another awesome ep. I always enjoying it. How old is Daisy again? She seems old but such a lovely dog. I love her name too.
Yay!
Świetnie! Pozdrowienia z północnej polski :-)
In the video you left your doors open. Are you ever worried about bugs, snakes, or other things getting in?
You need to get back together and do another colab with Chad from Living the Van Life, both are such great channels
You don’t know till you Dan-O!
You are the biggest advocate for the BLM that I know of and for that I commend you.
I find it interesting that people find it ok for Land management to cut trees to save basically a desert, but if bushcrafters cut 1 tree down, everyone cries like babies.
Great content and just like the simplicity of just showing how you live and work out on the road (or lack of one). Interested in your e-bike as I looked in your FAQ page but didn't see it listed. I have been looking for one but haven't seen many in use out on the road like the one I see you using a lot. As you well know...there are tons of info on the internet as well as RUclips but no "practical usage" that I have found where someone is not reviewing it because they it was a paid review. Any info you could provide would be awesome and much appreciated.
That looks way more fun than flying from London to Austin today. Really like that knife you use!
We camped not to far from that location last year at this time
Great video Jason! How much water does your rig hold? If you days before I might have missed it.
It's like watching a documentary. I am VAN CAMPER of Korea. I admire your VAN life. Can you tell me the type of camera? sony? canon?
