Yaa, great video. My fave part is you having to gear down from 37 to 115 time. I am making video of me having to gear down too. I drive WesternStar w/525 cat x 18 speed and on this hill I hit at 90km/h, I shift every gear down from 16th(7 hi) to 9th(4th low) to 30km/h. (66,000kg's) Scania V-8 Sound is like orchestra music, classical and beautiful. thanks joey
Great video! I am jealous of you. I have driven in terrain like this in Oregon and Northern CA with a full sized tanker -- with a Freightliner Cascadia with a 13 liter Detroit DD13 and a 10 speed Eaton Fuller tranny. Your Scania sounds a LOT better!!
Of course it does! Its engine, transmission and dive axles are all made by Scania, not a hodge podge collection of parts from third party manufacturers . . .
Climbed this hill with my Isuzu Giga 500, had her tuned up to 590hp, use to hit her at 95km fully loaded and lug her right down to 4th low 35km on the steepest hill man that truck could lug even with 50 tonne
swedengines. Dere svensker skal ha skryt :) Dere er veldig flinke til å bygge lastebiler !!! :) Fortsett med det ! For det kan dere virkelig :) For en herlig V8'er lyd ! Her jobber scania'n skikkelig hardt ! :) Scania og Volvo for alltid !!! Så får vi Nordmenn ta oss av Oljeletingen og Oljeboringen !!! :) :) :)
Iceeeen yup i guess it's nice to have 6x4 and on the 6x2 you can always lift the trailing axle to get more grip but if you're driving a 4x2 tractor + trailer than i guess it's either chains + skill or luck + skill :D
Look very strong on climbing hill, in malaysia, old scania 143 single axle can only keep maintain their rev, slowly going up by gear 1 or 2, with the load 40 ton or 50ton .. speed even slower and human walk😂 sometimes he take a little rest half way up, but scania keep going up, no problem al all.. you should try to put your camera on the roof pointed backward, and make sure exhaust tips also inside the camera angle
Yes you get to see the "world" and it's nice for a couple of years. But honestly, it's just roads. Literally the same where ever you go, some snow, hills, straights . Wouldn't recommend it to my worst enemy.
The load was silicon metal, has enormous mass and loaded in bulk on a walking floor. So it was no higher than a couple of cm spread out evenly over the trailer. Like a heavy go-cart. Fun ass hell to drive. Especially later when i got a full air ride, tuned and QUIET 620 😎 (that exhuast gets anoying after 15min)
On the map it seems RV77 has a tunnel. Here You're diving the road that is considered now as bike trek. Wasn't the tunnel available at time of filming?
Well I think it is fun ☺. As long as you have over 500hp it doesn't seam to mather on that hill. I drive a tuned 620 now that leavs 730 behind and it doesn't really go any faster up there than that old 580

My thoughts when the truck went on a protracted ascent:
-Come on baby, you never let me down, you can, I believe in you!!!
Scania power!!!!
Be a great film man! I have been there also with my Volvo-FH 400!!! It's a big mountain!!! But beautyfull landscape! Greats from Guus, Holland.
Scania V8 sound
That's a serious climb you have there, it's never ending 😂
I really really need this sound when i drive my 12 volt desk to the top level.
Fan va mäktigt

Good for you and the Iveco, luckily I never wasted more than a week of my trucking career in a Stralis
@@Iceeeen Isuzu not Iveco
👍👍👍
Boa viagem pra vc amigo legal demais ❤️♥️
this must be one of THE coolest roads to drive on when it's snowing or has snowed!
Done that on the same road for years :) You should see the view over the edge- I think it's like 200 meters straight down.
väldigt fint ljud och bra klipp! =)

Fweeee beautiful sound full chat
Any videos of the truck pulling up there taken from the outside as it passes? I'd love to hear it from there, sounds great.
great video! this road must be a real challenge during winter, I guess hard chance to pass it without chains
No problem without chains as long as you got good winter tires and 6x2 tag or 6x4 truck. and now how to drive.

Kaktus Jack
4x2 trucks don't have anything to do north of Denmark. Stupid EU regulation on how a truck should look.

Sorry but quit driving a couple of years ago and never ever going back so not possible.
Ohhh, but experient you get on this job is not everyone can get it, so luck 😋.. sokay

Bra klipp, precis så ska det låta om en Scania v8=).
mys ljud
NIce even police officer look at u :)
Lasse stefanz at the beginning??
Is the power difference between scania 164 580 and r620 very large
its 48t+ total weight, truck, trailer and load :)
Snorting Scanny V-8 barking through straight pipes, what she like on really twisty roads loaded to fifty tons or more?.

They started building a tunnel the year I quit driving, guess it's finished now.
i wonder what his average fuel consumption was?
+Gert Putzeys just connect a fire hose to the engine.... you get the idea!
Just out of curiosity, are you going full throttle up the hill? And if so, for how long can the engine hold on
Yes? What else? If you can't use full throttle there is something wrong. Especially on a bone stock slow 580.
Its a truck. They often use full power - designed to do so.
Unlike car engines these diesels are designed for low speed high torque applications.
Звук как у старенького ЗИЛа)
This road is not for fun, been there done that , in a scania 164 with 700 horsepower .
Well I think it is fun ☺. As long as you have over 500hp it doesn't seam to mather on that hill. I drive a tuned 620 now that leavs 730 behind and it doesn't really go any faster up there than that old 580
Sounds like a washing machine with a brick in it.
