Bill Scott hated working on these projects for John Sutherland. He said, "I kept trying to tell them I quit, but they kept stuffing my mouth with money." UPA director Bill Hurtz noted how because Scott was a vice president for the company and hobnobbed with tycoons, it was not his finest hour. Finally, after four years of working there, Scott quit. This was different because the other companies who hired him then fired him.
Scott would eventually lampoon such tycoons when he wrote for Jay Ward.

Empire building made fun. I like how they are "invited" to the special presentation, but there are soldiers with space 'laser rifles behind them forcing them there.

It literally is by dictionary definition. I'd say it's strange that we couldn't see it back then, but this sort of stuff is put out even to this day.
