Don´t know why expected "wood stove chimney" to be more of a portable object :S Nice to see the inside of your place though!

Ha! Yes, often they are freestanding -- this one goes up through the interior, though. =)

Great tip! I wish I could do that but my stove is a fireplace insert so I can't get to the chimney liner from the inside.

Ah yes -- some just don't access well from the bottom. I've always swept from the top before, but in our new place the roof is a bit steep for my comfort =)

Ha! How cool is that? Seems like a fun profession if you aren't bothered by heights =)

@ReWildUniversity He also flew helicopters and had a hot air balloon business! I don't think he's afraid of heights! 😂

I would be whimpering on the bottom of the balloon basket, lol!!

So did it work? I'd be hesitant to try something like that. Even some of the pros around here end up making a mess. John

It did! The messiest part is pulling the rods out afterwards, because they have a coating on them, but if you just hold a rag right at the edge of the bag where you are pulling them out and clean them as they emerge it's pretty mess-free =)

Ok, I get it. On the other hand, I have a fireplace, so I'll stash the stove trick for ?future? use/advice, and avoid hiring anyone as long as I can. After all, we have very few fires unless we need to use the fireplace for emergency blackout heating. Thanks for sharing. John@@ReWildUniversity
