I got trained in AWS but i didn't get a job coz no one was hiring a less experience guy. So i switched to another field. After 2 years when i see this video, i got goosebumps. I too had a dream of becoming solution architect but that dream never became reality.
That's the problem with "Architect" level IT professionals. Nobody wants to hire 2nd-tier Architect. So the strategy is to work in the AREA you want to be the "Architect" as a non-Architect then when you're are a good non-Architect, then you suddenly become the Architect.
Best strategy need plan if you want be more valable on cloud get certification on Linux and CCNP as fundation. AWS Cloud architect knowlege will open you the door. ruclips.net/video/u9hTxTzrxcI/видео.html
@@notsecure you have to have an IT background though, don’t you? Or a degree or something related to IT or any technical field… i am a health care professional, and would love to get into aws. I am taking the ccp exam next week, and the solutions architect asap too, But i dont think i could do more than sales in AWS, if I am lucky enough to get there. Right?
@@zetarnr Normally yes, but these days there are shortage of AWS professionals. So as long as you have the Solutions Architect Professional (not Associate) cert, then you will get hired.
@@notsecure thank you. Do you actually have any news of someone who followed this path and , although not having any IT/ engineering degree , got the SA professional certificate, and got hired? i came across so many different opinions/comments. Thanks a lot 🙏🏼
Goals: after COVID-19 lockdown, work in Seattle as an AWS SA
You can do it bro! All the positive things to your journey.
Good luck. I want to work as web developer in Mexico city :D I hope we both make it
Nice goal! Are you certified yet?
I just acquired the AWS cloud practitioner certification after two weeks of hard studying. I am currently working on the Solutions Architect certification and my dream is to work for Amazon as a solutions architect one day
Hi may I ask did you have IT background before the exam
@@ayanahmed4425 just basic IT Networking knowlege
@@besratmekonnen5886 what are you doing now? Where did you do your certifications?
@MilkShakeFryDip Well you just did a basic certification that will get you nowhere.
@MilkShakeFryDip Update? what're you up to now?
Great video. It encouraged me.
Just started as a Solutions Architect a month ago, been loving it so far
Did you start as an apprentice or right on the regular position? How is your normal routine in a normal workday?
@@yroh768 Started right into the regular position. Routine consists of developing content for a customer either for teaching them an aspect of the AWS cloud for them to use on their platform, validating their current solutions either on the AWS Marketplace or they're providing their customers, helping write blog posts either on new updates/launches, building demos and new technologies internally for other employees to use. A lot of the material about SA role sounds like PR "we're customer obsessed and revolve around the customer" but it really is true, when we build demos we need to think about how it's relevant to the customer
I like how AWS showcased its diversity in this video
AWS is one big melting pot as of now. Everywhere i see aws its always Diverse in my opinion. Same for the IT industry as well.
On purpose.
I work in tech and I'm currently taking an AWS Solutions Architect course right now. My goal is to land an AWS SA job here in Atlanta when I'm done.
Let's hook up bro. I'm also working on the same thing and I am based in ATL.
Hi Okey, hope you good. How far have you gone with the AWS Solutions Architect course? i'm sure you have probably certified by now.
Working on my AWS SA in Indiana i'm getting there!
I'm a Software/Solutions Architect (Non-Amazon) -- I can, with zero hyperbole, say it's the best job in the world.
If I were a billionaire, I'd do it for free.

Cool! I wish to be part of your team someday!
Amazing!!
This is so cool!!

what are some skills you need before pursuing aws ? i currently have mcsa ccna ccnp ccna sec. im getting into linux and python now. anything else id need to learn ?

You seem to have a great IT background. I would get a course on udemy or Linux academy. The courses the walk you through the services you will need to know for the test.
Due to the ever dynamic AWS architecture, what resources would you recommend (at this time) to study for the AWS Certified Solutions Architect Associate certification? A simple Amazon search brings up books that are reviewed as outdated and not a good single source of training.
I recommend A Cloud Guru course, it is 18 to 22 hour video training, I've watched twice during last year vacations, read a recent Sybex book (released Oct/16) which you can find in Amazon.com and some good time doing labs within AWS, lots of hours will help learn the concepts, have a feeling of how technologies fit together (A Cloud Guru has lots of labs, also AWS documentation has several step-by-step docs). And to be update with exam contents, check the exam blueprint, read and know the white papers on Well Architecture, Security and Store. Good luck and success on this road.
I recommend cloud Guru course as Rodrigo said it's one of he best courses out there, but if you want another option you can visit cloudacademy dot com or linuxacademy dot com, both provides certificates to add it on top of AWS official certificate if you would like to.
Thank you both for your replies!
Linux academy!
You should check out ACloudGuru on their website or via Udemy.
Just got my AWS SA certification. Now what ?
I want to move into this career space at AWS. Just got my cert!!

Pardon my ignorance, but is there a difference between a AWS Solutions Architect from a Cloud Solutions Architect? I am looking to start an associate in Enterprise Cloud Computing. Want to see if it all falls under the same umbrella.
As far as I can see, AWS would be the cert that comes directly from taking the AWS Solutions Architect exam while the other seems generic and maybe includes questions regarding Azure and others? There is also the AWS Cloud Practitioner, so that is a separate, more general entry level cert if that's what you're referring to in comparison?
Well why was my application not accepted? Zero feedback is stupid.

I am a network engineer and I am thinking of AWS SA but I have zero knowledge of programming and scripting. Does this profile require coding and programming language skills?
nope
is this the same as a cloud engineer?
Not quite. It's a focus more on design, planning, and implementation, hence the "Architect" part of the piece.
Less of a focus on the ongoing maintenance and support aspect, as that would tend to be done by other teams (Managed Support etc.). It's more about planning, and bringing existing workloads into the cloud, and making them much more efficient, while controlling or improving cost. Cloud engineers are more about the ongoing maintenance and support aspect, but it is a very broad definition, so can't really be constrained too much. There is overlap.
Venturi Life Such a good explanation!

Wtf is this job about except "moving the needle", "listening to the customer."? You just spoke about a big load of nothing
go and research what is aws solution architect before talking shit. you have to provide the best cloud solution to your customer to suits his needs.
It’s sad she didn’t get to be a ballerina and the other guy to be in movies.
Customer obsession? Who has that? It sounds good from a vendor point of view, but I like more the concept a concept like "Responsibility, Ownership, Trust". Obsession?...come on.
This is a promotional video, not an informational video. Disappointed.

Gonna be honest, Shashi is hard to understand.
Ok. first of all, Cloud service is not for saving money. don't confuse people, pls. :) it's more for scale-able.
Tun why do you believe you wouldn’t save money using Cloud?
Customers most definitely save money going to the AWS. Think of the infrastructure cost - cooling, power, contracts for purchasing hardware.

I think Solution Architect is not a real job. What these people were talking was just a bunch of horseshit. They are just throwing in some jargon.
arrh these all look like cheap less than 100k employees, big deal if you have a SA title and get paid nothing, SA get paid well over 185K.. does aws pay well, i met allot of SA and they are not experienced at all, when i check thier background they have no experience, helping a smalls startup setup a website on aws, pfft big deal, try delivering a few million project for a bank
I'm wholly impressed by this material. The book I looked into with these themes was incredibly thought-provoking. "AWS Unleashed: Mastering Amazon Web Services for Software Engineers" by Harrison Quill
