- Yes this is exactly how we do the laundry in the Northern Scandinavia. I've been asked to do a tutorial for a long time, so here you go ;) ♥

the temperature of cold water in the washing machine is +15 degrees, and the temperature of cold water in the river in winter +4-+5.
Synthetic clothing does not withstand drying in the cold and begins to break down. Just as it will begin to break down when heated.
So only 100% cotton can be air-dried without the risk of destruction.
Still i believe Jonna was sarcastic about this video. At Rusland we take cold water from well and wash clothes at home at a temperature of +20, with further drying in the unheated part of the living room at a temperature of +5 - +7. We are talking about rural conditions, of course.

My dad was from Denmark. Fighting snow to do laundry was beneath them. They just sent it out to Norway and it came back a week later smelling like herring. Everyone was happy with this arrangement. But then he moved here, to Canada, where we also do our laundry in the snow. After watching this video, I feel so Scandinavishly confused.

Fun fact I just learned that Scandinavian countries let their baby sleep outside in the stroller i think that’s why they don’t get cold easily or fall sick. In my motherland it’s the complete opposite with our tropical weather different seasons. Just fascinating to learn how people live at the other side of the world.

We do actually have recommendations for that we don't let them be at too cold
It is very good for the lungs. Doctors used to recommend this in the USA to parents, when doctor's were doctor's and not just drug dealers.

My wife is from Finland. They put their clothes out to dry just like this in winter, no joke. Still makes no sense to me. She says it “freeze dries” them.

I live in the Midwest, USA, and I do my laundry with a machine. But I have been line drying my clothes year round for twenty years. They just take a little longer in the dead of winter. Actually, the air is often drier in winter than in summer.
Sometimes jep .. i prefer two lines (on 1point) . Fresh Air its much better than a dryer . Never use mine

I grew up in South Australia, spent 35 years in tropical The Northern Territory, and moved back to South Aust. to retire - we're experiencing cold snap (10°C / 50°F) and I AM FREEZING TO DEATH! Watching this video is awesome.

Maru She went to Great Effort to Image and Act Out how her ancestors had to wash clothes by hand,and one cannot get clothes clean in freezing cold water. When she Ventured out in very cold windy, snowy weather without a coat and hat and a dress on one would know this is not a Reality Show. I have not watched many of her videos and seen the inside of her house. Does she have all the modern amenities of washer and dryer, Gas or Propane for heat and a septic system that has to be maintained in rural areas where she lives. I see she loves to Garden and raise some summer food, is there a Grocery within several miles for items you cannot freeze or are in cans. How about the Internet and television, I am not informed about these also. The quality of Her Videos are Excellent from the Scenic Country that is Hers.

Indeed, because it would be difficult to ship a washing maching through snow like this, or you can probably drop it off using airplane, but most appliances wouldnt survive the first trip and end up buried in snow.
