Sequels rarely work, just a quick way for the studios to fleece the “sheeple”for a quick profit. S&B#2 was unwatchable, I can only imagine the torment the audience (those that did not walk out) had to through to get through this pile of 💩
3 did have some good action sequences, but the humor was way too brief to be enjoyable, and the inclusion of some sexual content and related nudity hurts the overall clean (other than very salty language and innuendo) series. Although the one scene where Buford unexpectedly faces a Nudist colony was somewhat funny (and PG enough since it wasn't a sexually-themed scene). Nudist (cheery): "Welcome to our colony! We can't allow clothes, though. Will you take yours off?" Buford (alarmed by the sight): "I wouldn't take my clothes off in front of my good wife, Wilhelmena!" Colony (sad): "Awww..." I found Smokey and the Bandit(less) 3 barely amusing at best. Plotless and somewhat sexist at worst. I hated when they visited a brothel-like hotel where there were orgies briefly, but graphically visible, given the fact the past two films did not have much sexual content or any nudity. Too dirty since the first two films were targeted for audiences 10 and up. What is the target audience for this one? It's definitely too unclear since there is hardly much swearing, but has too much sexual content and nudity for the PG rating it bears (even a little too edgy if it was released after PG-13 was created). The extremely brief appearance of Burt Reynolds shows how better presentable this movie could've been had Universal not been so impatient working without him since he was working on "The Best Little (Cat)house in Texas." {The PG title for the TV edit, I don't curse} I don't think it is worth the 17% it has on Rotten Tomatoes, but I definitely rate it well under the 60% ”fresh" ranking. I enjoyed seeing more of Big and Little Enos Burdette, especially what their shenanigans looked like outside of the main storyline. Seeing Buford being bored with retirement is definitely an amusing concept that I think holds up well in terms of his character. Getting to know more about Junior is an additional welcome and why Buford is constantly berating him makes total sense. But they portrayed Jerry Reed's character, Snowman, as too easily happy, and somewhat dumb, unlike the first two films. His girlfriend is so obnoxious, unlikable and clueless. The storyline does not much make sense after Buford accepts the Burdette's offer. This feels very relevant to today's unneccessary "reboots" like "The Lion King", and sequels like the 2015-19 "Star Wars" Trilogy. I will rank this original sequel better than them, since it did at least include the original cast, no glorified special effects, real action stunts, and keeping the majority of the original cast. But to say it is a good sequel or movie is a flat out lie, because it ain't. Here is how I rank this film. Acting: 2.5/4- Even though duller than the first and the characters felt like shells of the original, the quality of their performance within limitations of the film's terrible writing did shine through, except for the aforementioned Snowman. Writing: 1/4- Where's Smokey's salty language? There's not nearly as much here that made his character so hilarious and lovable in the first place. The story is terrible and cheap, and I just wanna kick that obnoxious girlfriend of Snowman's out of the car on the Highway. She's better off not being in the film and safer on the highway. Stunts: 3/4- the stunts in this film were decent, even if flawed. It did feel consistent with the Smokey and the Bandit series. Perhaps the best scenes in the movie. Overall: 2/4 (45%)- This movie is just too weak to be entertaining enough and no Burt Reynolds means no good sequel. As a movie overall, it is okay to watch once, maybe twice depending on the mood. But if I had the chance to see it again, I probably wouldn't.
Burt was busy filming Stroker Ace plus neither he nor Hal Needham were interested in another Bandit movie. This was only made to milk more money out of the franchise and Jackie Gleason wanted an excuse to be in another film because he was towards the end of his life and loved playing BTJ. The whole movie has a completely different tone than the first two because of the script and the direction. The only reason Burt had a cameo at the end was because he showed up on the film set to say hello because they were filming close to his house in Florida and the director begged him to stick around and get something on camera since he was there. You can tell he and Jackie Gleason improvised their brief scene together. Try and find the much longer unedited version of it from the TV edit of the film. They should have left this version in the final theatrical cut.
Priceless! XD
RIP to the legends Gleason and Reynolds...
And Reed
Also, Mike Henry who passed in Jan. 2021. Great movies and cast!
Daddy, my face is all white. 😂
I loved the scene where Buford jumps through the milk truck soaking the Enos's ! Lol
Scary how Jr looks like Joaquin Pheonix after he got sprayed with the paint.

The only thing this needs is better quality of video.
Does anyone know what I'm trying to say?
Would rather watch 3 than 2 any day
3 kinda copied 1. Snowman picking up a girl on the side of the road she changes clothes like frog did.
They should've stopped at 1!!!!!!!!!
Best joke? Apparently this movie has an extremely low bar.
It’s very low..
THAT WAS THE BEST SCENE? DAMN, THAT MOVIE MUST SUCK!
It does.

@@UpNorth2000 Yep,
They should’ve just jumped over the shark on the car.

Can you elaborate further

@@TokyoJoe703 hahaha.
For the "girlfriend," it's unclear if they're together like that or not. There's no intimacy between them like the real Bandit & Frog.
There is no such thing as a good scene in that film. Loved the first film (my all time favourite), disliked the second and hate this one.
