Kenny And I both grew up as teenagers on 160th street between Ft. Washington Avenue and Riverside Drive in upper Washington Heights Manhattan, NYC. We met through both our interest in music, and through the kids we hung out with like Frankie Lymon, Tiny Tim, and George Carlin in Washington Heights, who we used to sing with at one time or another together as a group, or with our school mates and friends Kenny Rankin, Jimmy Conway, Ronnie Espasito, Johnny Costa, and Freddy Wells, and I. We would sing in the hallway next to the poolroom hall on top of the Lowe's Rio Movie Theater on Broadway, and 160 street, cause it had a great acoustical sound, and gave a great sound to our group singing Doo Wop songs at the time. Kenny had a God given natural talent he could sing, thought himself to play the Guitar and Piano, and conga's. I use to hang out with Kenny at his apartment on Riverside Drive where he lived with his Mother Elizabeth, and sister Genie. Kenny was the one who gave me lessons on the guitar and really got me interested in music. Which led eventually to my singing and recording with other groups like The Spirals, and ending up with a group called The Chevrons. Kenny went on and became one of our most talented Singer/ Song writers and Guitar players of our time. Kenny's ability to take a song and improvise was spectacular, and unlimited in scope.
Whit each song Kenny gave us his interpretation and his improvised melodically, turning an ordinary song into a Beautiful poetic musicale!
Kenny Died to young, he had a lot more to give and accomplish, but we are thankful for what he did give us in his Beautiful songs, and Music.
Kenny You are surely missed!

My wife and I met in 1975. Living in Brooklyn we saw Kenny perform in Central Park many a summer night. There is no other performer to compare to Kenny Rankin. He is an original and we are all blessed for his life's work. I am convinced he did his version of 'She's a Lady' just for me and my wife. Be well.

this song reminds me of my childhood days..this was actually a theme song of one of our (family) favorite radio drama entitled "Ang Tangi kong Pag-ibig" in DZRH back In early to mid '90s. the song speaks for itself but what I have for this song is happy childhood memories with my papa, mama, and kapatid..we always tune in to the radio drama and all the other programs of DZRH.The song is not just about romantic love but also love for family. now, im away from home, the loneliness is very hard to bear. There are few nights when I am with my patient and my tears would just fall uncontrollably. I wish those nights I am in the loving arms of my mama. and I know she will comfort like no one does. but then I thank God that I have a family to inspire me. this song will always be a song of my heart.

This song reminds me so much of my mother.. She died giving birth to my youngest brother. I love her so much and there's not one day that I didn't miss her. What I'm reminded all the time is that i'll live longer without her than with her and no one knows how much I'm affected by her absence, I hide it all the time. It's a really hard thing to accept it, so I think I can never do it. -- I guess what they say is right, "The pain never really goes away, you just elevate and get used to it"

This month july 03 2015 i just learn that my first love got married,. I feel so sad, mad, jealous,.. I wish i could bring back 12 yrs ago and correct my mistakes, selfish, naive, childish thing.. But i'm married man and i love my wife,. If i could bring my self 12 years ago i could correct things it's all my fault i was a guy with no life thinking only greed for both of us i never thought that day she will left me empty handed,. Since she left me i promise my self to be successful i was hoping that one day she will come back to my life,. I tried everything sending flowers and etc but nothing happens not a god damn a THANK YOU!. There is a night i was so drunk and i called her home phone no. she answer it she just hang off the phone,. I realize she is not interested with me anymore... But then i never give it up... My company manager told me i need to go training in san francisco for training 3months, and i was very interested i hope one day i could see her in SF,. But in the end i haven't see her i just realize omgosh what the heck i'm thinking the San francisco is a huge land, but i knew her parent address i went to that condo apartment i was in the parking lot thinking should i go or not to go! i checked her facebook and adding her as a friend but she just rejected me or ignored me,. since then i lost hope maybe she is not very interested with me,. So i went back to illinois and i meet my lovely wife after few years we got married and bought a single house in illinois.. and i love her so much and she love me so much. The day she got married i add her as a friend and she approved it...

I can still remember my dad. I cannot forget the man who was always there for us when we are troubled. He died thinking of his family and not himself. Until now, my mother still misses my dad, she is still hurting and couldn't move on. I just keep quiet and don't say a word whenever she tells me that she is going to be with my dad soon.

OR iniwan ka ng lalake/babae? WHY feel so lost...GET out of it..
lahat ng yan nangyayari dhil sinusubukan ka lang ng Panginoon. wag kang basta-basta nlng susuko. ang buhay na yan ay biyaya galing sa Kanya. wag mong sayangin. npakaraming tao sa buong mundo na naghahangad na dugtungan pa ang buhay nila sa kbila ng mga pghihirap na nararanasan nila, tapos ikw pgsasawaan mo lang? di ka ba nahihiya man lang sa ngbigay sa'yo nyan? npakasarap mabuhay kung alam mo lang. kelangan lang matuto tayong magpasalamat sa ano mang natatanggap natin. biyaya man yan o pasakit..

Dhil hindi pwedeng ipasa mo na lng sa iba ang buhay mo - sa mga taong khit hirap na hirap na ay pinipilit pa ring mbuhay, sa mga taong ayaw png iwanan ang mga mahal nila sa buhay, sa mga taong hindi pa sna dpat namatay, sa mga taong masasaktan dhil sa pagkawala nila, alam mo un? ang iba hndang gumastos ng milyon mabuhay lng tpos ikw ganyan lng sasabihin mo? @MrJANFRITZ ,you know what!?tumingin ka sa malaking salamin at pakatitigan ang sarili mo.mayroon kang mata na nakakakita,may bibig na nakapapagsasalita,may tenga na nakakadinig at may mga kamay at paa na nakakagalaw.what i'm tryung to say is maswerte ka pa rin kaysa ibang nilalang.wag ka mawalan ng pag-asa ang buhay ay hindi laging madilim at darating din ang time na lahat ng dinaranas mo sa ngayon ay malalampasan mo din.believe me dahil nanggaling na rin ako sa hell......
@bryceian06 haiiiizt.... mgulo talaga.. kung bkt pa pnagtatagpo, kung sa huli'y magkakahiwalay rin nmn o ndi rin pra sa isa't isa... cguro para mas makilala mu lng rin ang sarili mo... at maging handa sa mga darating pang pagsubok sa buhay at upang maging matatag na rin kpg dating ng tamang panahon...kung san ang nararapat sa iyo ay naandyan na..
para maging matapang, matatag at mapaglaban na rin at masubukan ang sarili, cguro.. kaya ganuon,... pero... bkt pa kc kailangan msktan ng paulit ulit..
brod ako rin ilan beses na ako dumating sa stage ng depresion, ilan beses na ba ako nabigo, umangat at lumubog na ako, lumaban ako pra sa mga anak ko, nmatay ang mrs ko, natangal ako sa pgging pulis ko, kinasuhan ako lumaban pa rin ako, dasal lang walang imposible sa taas, habang may buhay may pag asa, tandaan mo lahat ng problema may solusyon!!!

@MrJANFRITZ hindi ka nagiisa kaibigan sa nararamdaman mo...marami tayo...pero pinipili parin ang makibaka at kumapit sa pangako ng Panginoon...ibigay mo lahat ng hirap na nararamdaman mo kay LORD...at gagaan ang bigat na nararamdaman mo...KAPIT LANG KAIBIGAN:-) Kaya muyan/ kaya ni LORD yan:-)
Thank you for this. My Mom joined the Lord in Heaven last week, and this was the song that my Dad played to her the night before she passed away. She had been battling a rare form of cancer and my Dad was there by her side the whole time, holding her hand to show he will be there for her no matter what. :)
I am in immense grief right now, but this song helps me realize how much my parents love each other. :)
ewan ko ba kung bakit ganito ang buhay ko.. kung maibabalik ko lang ang panahon ayoko ng mabuhay sa mundong ito kung puro hirap at pag durusa nalang ang mararanasan ko.. lord kunin mo na ako kaw na bahala sa maiiwan ko pagod na pagod na ako :-(
