I was 15 years old when I met my first love. But I was still young then and my family broke us apart.He dedicated this song to me and i found solace everytime I hear this. He left, but we were never given the chance to say our goodbyes. And since then we never heard from each other.. And now I'm 29 years old, after 14 years, out of nowhere, he found me again. We found each other again..I can say, our story is one proof that true love has a habit of coming back.. We have the same story. The only difference is that we were both married when we saw each other after 20 years. We never said our goodbyes again but it hurts twice than the first time. But as the song says, its not the years you were together but those short moments you felt what real love is.

Unang marinig ko to,nung bata Ako,mga 6 o 7 years old Ako nun. Di ko lang Maalala kung sa libing ko to narinig. Tapos simula nun,tumatak na Siya sa isip ko,sinabi ko sa sarili ko nun,na pag namatay Ako,gusto ko yan ang tugtog habang hinahatid Ako sa huling hantunga. At simula din nun hinanap ko title,pero Ngayong Gabi ko lang nalaman ang title.

This song is very, very emotional talaga. After the 81 years of existence of my grandfather, he died last April 3, 2022. Malakas siya physically, mentally and emotionally. Di namin expected na ganon ang sasapitin niya. Though he and his family where my mother is her father, kahit pa hindi sila magkasundo ng lola namin, kahit magkakaiba sila ng prinsipyo ng nanay ko pati ng mga tito at tita namin, sobra sobra talaga ang pagmamahal niya lalo na sa aming magpipinsan. Nakakamiss yung panahong every umuuwi kami sa probinsya kada matatapos ang taon, very, very welcoming siya. Di ko makakalimutan mga kwento niya at mga paalala sa aming mga apo. Kahit hindi sila ganong kayaman, kahit ganon kagulo sa bahay nila. Sobrang saya na naging parte siya ng pamilya. Nitong umuwi kami sa probinsya last December, ito na yung huling pagkikita namin na buhay pa siya.
Ngayon, wala na ang pinakamamahal naming lolo na nasa piling na ng mahal na Panginoong Diyos. Hindi siya perpektong tao, hindi siya perpektong asawa, hindi rin siya perpektong tatay at mas lalong hindi rin siya perpektong lolo pero siya ay nag-iwan ng masayang alaala.

Recently, I heard this song on the radio. I was busy doing some chores at that time, then suddenly I heard it. I felt so sad and it really touched my heart. The memories of the past came back. We got engaged after almost 4 yrs of on-and-off relationship. Mahal namin ang isa't-isa and we were so excited to have our own family, pero kinailangan niyang supportahan ang kaynang pamilya. His mother who's working abroad already wants to retire because of her age and his nieces are studying at universities. Di naman sila mayaman kaya kinailangan talaga magtulongan. Masakit lang kasi di ko naman sya pinapili pero pumili parin sya siguro nahihirapan narin sya emotionally sa dami ng responsibilidad na ipinatong sa kanya. Masakit pero I need to accept it. I bought Kenny Rankin's album with this song when I heard it on the radio some 27 years ago. I was in a low point of my life, having been broken by the person i trusted. I understand this is a song of hope and looking at the brighter side of things, but to me this speaks of saying goodbye and hence, whenever i hear this, i can't help but feel sad and alone...
