Western Plow UltraMount Install 07-14 GMC Sierra and Chevy 1500 2500

Here is the complete tutorial to install a western plow mount for the 07-14 GMC Sierra and Chevy Silverado 2007 - 2014 1500, 2500, and 3500. This is the same for ultramount and ultramount 2 truck side mount.

For the frame rail. Thread the nut and washer onto the bolt line up, took a coat hanger and a small amount of epoxy to hold the washer and nut together so I could slide it into the frame rail. Brake away the hanger after it’s tightened.

I found out you can also leave tow hook in there. Just requires a 1/2-13 x 6" bolt, Gr 8 brass, 2 flat washers and a 1/2-13 lock nut. Ideally you can drill extra hole in top of the mount to catch the bottom bolt. You will have to remove hook to get bolt behind it in back of mount.
The hole is centered in bracket and lines up on outside front to back with a vertical wing of frame.

@@The_Rev_Room Shackle? As in the center U part? Not really needed since the Tow hook takes it's place and allows you to crank down bolt without deforming frame. The tow hook has basically a pipe that bolt passes through

67981-2 Frame bracket hardware
#4 6 1/2-13 Locknut
#5 2 5/8-11 Locknut
#6 2 5/8-11 2” Hex bolt -used rear 2 bolts, hanging down -1 ½” bare minimum length
#9 6 1/2-13 1-3/4” hex bolt -used middle bottom and front top hanger bolt, bolts up -1 ½” bare minimum length
#7 4 5/8” flat washer
#8 8 ½” flat washer
Or can keep tow hook and use a 1/2-13 x 6” bolt, locknut and 2 flat washers. Eliminates 2 of the 1 ¾” bolts per side

No it’s all factory except a leveling kit. But that has been on the truck forever and is not needed to put on a plow. This is a 2500 so they can handle it plus I went with a 7ft 6 plow to be slightly lighter to not kill my front end. A few tips to extend the life of your vehicle. @@The_Rev_Room ok, just curious. Because mine seems to sit to low, and the kick stand hits the ground not giving much clearance so I can lock the pin for it.

Just fyi the information in your video is incorrect. The mount is for 99-2010 2500 and 3500(other than 99-2002 classic 3500). This mount is also not for a 1500 like stated in the title. The 2500/3500 frame changed in 2011.

Ok great, thank you. I kinda titles this video for the purpose of the install is the same across all the platforms and to bring in some more interest. I also didn’t know they separated the 99-02 3500 and when I ordered it showed 07-14 2500 and 3500.
