Very much appreciate your video, I have a 2000 Silverado with a first gen ultramount plow. bought the plow for 1k and had a Western dealer set it up for me, cost me another 2k. Well 5 years later the relay cluster quit switching over the headlights. I was going to try and fix the issue but after you got me on the right two wires for the headlights I set it up just like yours, works great now and I should never have to worry about the headlights again! Thank You!
Thank you for your video. I have the unimount plow. I bought a truck with a bad motor and transmission, rebuilt it all and was trying to get the plow working. Lost track of wires over the course of time. I was missing wire from solenoid on bottom left back to battery ground. Once I made that connection, everything worked. I will definitely hook up my lights to a separate switch, as you say, the wires are getting extremely hot. Thanks again for sharing this information 👍
Bravo, guy, I've been letting my harness intimidate me. I'm not much for electrical. But I definitely could do this myself and i'm gonna do it tonight Out in Minnesota, they tried to charge me $1400 to install my wiring.
thank you for the video i was replacing a wire harness from truck to plow the last one had a short some where in it so i swapped the whole thing and got stuck in the meantime made a beginner mistake and never took a picture of how it was wired up by watching your video i was able to get my plow hooked back up only part im stuck on now is when i push up or down on the control it only wants to go down but before it would not shut off so your video helped me figure out most of the problem thank you.
I could use your help from somebody that knows about the wiring in detail. I wired my 3-port/3 plug yesterday without any lighting for now until but before I even got that far the controller lit up but when I hit the raise button my passenger windshield went down and then the controller went dark, I am guessing it had something to do with the switched power I put in my fuse box for the controller hot wire. Then I hit the power button and it came back on but did the same thing until it stopped coming back on, I guess a fuse blew at that point but it was not the switched power fuse for the controller, Not sure what I am doing wrong. I followed the wiring diagram. any help would be so appreciated.

@@joemeehling885 when I wired my unimount to 3 plug ultramount I NEVER TIE IN LIGHTS TO THE TRUCK HARNES... Never have and never will! I always cut the plug look at the schematic and just have headlights working and put it on toggle switch. OK since you already wired-- ONLY THE PLUG from the plow pump TO ONLY HAVE PLOW Functions and obviously the power cable-- u really need to take the valve cover off the pump and send power to the vavles with your power probe. Then go back truck side have ur wife push the plow control buttons to see if youre having power sent through from the controller. I rewired my ultramount to have a 9pin since my truck was already a relay 9 pin. Now if you have the iso crap lol that's WWAAYYY past my pay grade!!!
It's his truck... He knows it works that's all that matters... Always somebody judging Ppl ur talking about his wiring and ur the same guy that probably can't even diagnose a plow in an emergency ... JUST SEND IT TO THE SHOP lmao

Hey Catalina, you help me big time. Thanks for your video. I did the same by removing the grill. I have a 1998 K2500
So just a light switch for the plow headlight. That’s how I’m gonna wire my western thanks bud! HappyPlowin $$$$
Im thinking that that red wire for controller needs to hook up to put on controller. thanks a lot for this video
Does this eliminate the 3 prong port module?
What is the black one that is connected with the red one for? I’m talking about the two smaller ones that are from the solenoid to the battery
Thanks I bought a used plow and wasn’t sure about the wiring.
what harness # are you running to truck?
How many wires go from the solenoid to the battery?
Plain and simple set up. Love it.
Do you know which color wires do what for the lights?
Thank you
