Kenya national anthem is a prayer, asking God to lead, bless, and protect our land of Kenya.
Kenyan national anthem was written by locals unlike other countries which were written by foreigners
Back in the 80s, I went to Centrifuge, a Southern Baptist Church camp and we learned the Kenyan National anthem. And to this day, I can still sing it in Kenyan. It's a beautiful sacred anthem.❤️

I'm just getting around to this. I know I requested for it a looong time ago. Muchas gracias family for honoring my request. The melody came from a lullaby ( _Bee mdondo bee_ ) from the Pokomo tribe. Their language is the closest to the original version of our national language (Kiswahili), which originated from the border of Kenya and Southern Somalia, _Kingozi_ . So despite popular misconception, the Swahili language existed fully on its own as a bantu language before some of the Arabic (along with a sprinkling of Portuguese etc) influence it has today, along the Kenyan coast. 4:49 Black sista can sang indeed

It's among the best anthem speaking about brotherhood, building the nation, but in reality whatever is spoken about in the anthem it's the opposite nowadays, very disturbing and shameful 😢
Man you just described what I've been feeling lately. It's weird. Terrible because if we really stood by those words we'd build such a great, wonderful and powerful nation. Glad to see a fellow mountaineer thinking about this
