Спасибо дорогой Томас, что сделал перевод. Сейчас очень много разновидностей кустарников и без знания не знаешь как сажать и ухаживать. Спасибо что делитесь своим опытом. Всем Мира и здоровья!

I have always pruned with hedge trimmer and they do fine. I find that lorapetalum is a strong plant.

Thank you. This video is what I was looking for. Was wondering if I could prune newly installed loropetalum, and you answered my question. Great video.

I prune mine right after flowers fade. (It is the last week of March here, Zone 7b-8a, and the flowers are almost done, so will prune within the next 2 weeks)

Mine is in full bloom now in march,March, wanted to no if I could prun it at this time, I have 2 shurbs and they are pretty large although I believe they are supposed to be druff , I just want to make them somewhat smaller.... thank you for the video, but it doesn't say when to prun the plant, only informs us not to prun when first planted, mine are 2 years old

I've got one that's about 15'-20' tall that's got mildew/fungus on the outer 1/3. I'd like to get it down around 5' tall

If I grow them in a container and I am in zone 7, do I bring them indoors for winter with grow lights? Or put them somewhere dark and cold?

Do you need to thin out the middle of the shrub for air flow or is is fine just trimming the outer layers?

I prune mine constantly in the summer. they love being trimmed.

I'm trying to grow one indoors on a south-facing window. It did flower but the flowers withered. It seems to grow well, though.
    What could cause this?

Thanks for your question! Our plant expert, Frank, offered this advice: Loropetalum is an outdoor plant so I would suspect that it is not to happy being inside, even though it flowered. The interior air, especially the AC could be causing the flowers to wither quickly.

Just got mine half off at Walmart and the the leave are kinda brown. Are they still ok?

    • @greendynamix

They should be. Our recommendation would be to get them watered and in the ground as soon as you can. Plants need extra watering in the summer months!

Never prune after - what? I turned on closed captioning and it reads 'never prune after inside.'

    • @Alejandro_C62
      @Alejandro_C62 Год назад +1

Install. “It says never prune after install.” Which I guess means don’t prune them after you initially plant them.

  • @pakavanaugh

I couldn’t understand the word after “never prune immediately after(?insol) and also “new plants never (? Fern) it.
