One thing I’ve noticed in your gun guides so far for MW is that once you have your load out recommendations you don’t mention what your ADS speed ends up being in both cases. I can only speak for myself but I would appreciate seeing that metric or you talk about how fast it ends up being. Thanks for the great videos!
For anyone watching this after the May 18th, 2020 patch: the base ADS speed was buffed to 317ms. He made an update video on that patch, too. Stacking up on attachments like collapsible stock or stippled grip tape will improve this further, making this a more competitive weapon.

Out of all the weapons so far, I have the most kills and highest KD with the SCAR. In my experience, it’s a face melter. Not going to list every detail of my set up, but I use Monolithic, a foregrip, extended mags, no stock, and a grip tape. Super underrated.
I got obsidian for that gun And I dropped my first nuke with it too. Imagine using a fully automatic gun that’s a two shot kill to the head - at all ranges.
The mobile version of this game has an attachment called OTM magazine, which helps this gun take a 180 turn from being the slowest killing to fastest AR.
I have a few “buff“ ideas, mixed or used separatly: 1) add upper torso multiplier (like ak or oden) 2) damage increas to 42-38 with 1,49 headshot-multiplier 3) remove 25 round mag and give the stats to the 30 round mag. Add a 50 round drum mag with slower ads- and movementspeed 4) add a 6,5mm creedmore conversion. 20 round mag, same damage and rpm, but streched damage range (like 300 blackout m13 or 10mm mp5) and a bit lower recoil
The scar shoots a larger round than the AK in real life, so why does the scar not have a chest multiplier? Also, why does the scar shoot faster than the AK, when it should be the other way around, due to the scar’s larger cartridge?
The Scar-H/17 shoots faster than most 7.62x39mm chambered AKs at about 675 rpm whereas the AKs shoot at about 600 to 650 rpm. Remember, the chambering of the gun has little to no effect on the gun's cyclic rate. :)
Hunter L96 If it’s very light in real life, they should definitely buff the ADS and movement speed of the Scar 17 to be faster than the other assault rifles.
You’re definitely going to get outgunned most of the time, however with practice and learning how to use it, you can definitely dish out damage and gain the upper hand. You must play more methodically, not run and gun, to see true success with it. I’ve had my success with these attachments: Monolithic suppressor TAC laser Collapsible stock Fully loaded Merc foregrip I avoid sights since your ADS will get worse. Run this set up guys it’s good. I got the gold skin with it, and it feels really good having it gold and not some other weapon like the M4 or MP5 which is all you see. Bragging rights haha.
That means itll get out classed by guns like the m4/kilo and m13 at range. And by all submachine guns up close where as other guns can atleast put up a fight
miguel santana sorry but you're wrong as long as you land your shots its a fast killer. you have to play very smarts as the for mentioned guns have faster handling but if you're smart and know when to have your sights up shot for shot it competes with meta weapons
miguel santana Oh definitely I agree with you. You’re at a disadvantage when you use the Scar. If you’re rushing, roaming through the map and encounter someone chances are you’re gonna lose the gunfight. You must play differently and change your strategy for success. I will say this though, the gun is powerful. A few shots and they drop.
When you say attachments have a “4% movement speed decrease” what exactly do you mean by that? Does it go from 93% down to 89% as just a flat decrease, or is it actually 4% of 93 which would be slightly over 89%? Doesn’t make a big difference for these attachments that have a small percentage change, but on some that increase or decrease speeds by 10% or so it can have a bigger impact depending on how it’s calculated.
So then stacking attachments that decrease movespeed like say barrels, ammo, and stocks, it's 4% of base, then 4% of that, then 4% of that, or is it 12% of the base?
Christopher Bailey Weapons have max bonuses, so no, you can’t stack them all together. After usually two attachments, they stop helping. However, a video that focuses on what the cut off is for each gun stat would be nice, but I think it changes per gun, so it could be a very complex video.
@@Krogort Not to sound like a wiseass, but in case you didn't know, you have it backwards. What Ace is describing is a percent decrease, not a percentage point decrease. If it were a decrease in 4 percentage points, it would result in 89% movement speed, but because it's a decrease in percent, we get a little over 89% movement speed (89.28% to be precise).
Hey bud, I’d love if you also started to include a Sprint Out time, a movement speed, and a ADS time potential in here as well, for when you’ve got all the handling improving attachments equipped! Michael Dearth run longest barrel, sniper scope, rubberized grip, commando foregrip, and an attachment of your choice, then put it on single fire and in hardcore it will one shot to any part of the body from any range
If you can control recoil well manually, 1 attachment for recoup control should do the trick in minimizing recoil as much as is necessary, even for the AK. I’ve done testing on maximizing recoil control and how each underbarrel grip compares to its counterparts and found that merc foregrip has the best decreases in vertical recoil. The others are pretty similar to each other with slight deviations in horizontal recoil but it comes down to what cons you’re willing to deal with when selecting the underbarrel. If you’re an aggressive player, try this: AK47 Merc foregrip Monolithic suppressor 5 mW laser Stippled tape (i think this is the one that boosts Sprint to fire speed) Skeleton stock
Jonathan Murillo would you recommend the ranger foregrip on the mp5 or the merc foregrip to reduce more recoil? Also, ranger says it increases aim stability as well so does that mean ranger is better for longer range combat than the merc?
If you're hitting your shots it is devastating and epic. If you miss just one or two your TTK has now gone through the roof and you're watching a kill cam, sad, lonely, wondering why you haven't cleaned the house today, and why you called in sick just to watch killcams.
The scar was my favorite gun in mw2 and I was soooo excited to see it in mw but I was so disappointed of how it performed. The gun has too many downsides: small mag, slow movement speed, slow ads, and moderate recoil. I just wished they would give it something special. Maybe give it the fastest ads or maybe shoot like a laser like it did in mw2. Man I’d be happy if it’s magazine was a standard 30 and kept everything else the same. This gun is just outclassed by every other rifle. Still, it’s my most used gun.
The quality of your videos is awesome, I use to watch drift0r for these in depths but when you compare your video edits (images , ranges etc) to his which is just white text that anyone could do its night an day , anyway keep up the gd work bro
This really shows you how little the guys who make cod know about guns. As someone that owns a scar 16 and has shot a scar 17, I can tell you that either model weighs less than the average ar15 and especially ar10. The idea that this gun should be that slow and handle more like a lmg is not based in any kind of reality. Let’s not forget the fact that it’s shooting a more powerful cartridge than an ak but they do the same damage in the game essentially
looking back on this gun guide, i would easily recommend TAC laser now, as well as merc foregrip, stippled grip tape, and a CQC stock. the last attachment i find is prefence between sleight of hand, fully loaded, or 25 ammo clip. Scar is underrated in Traditional game modes and really doesnt need a sight, barrel, or suppressor. it can be pretty snappy and deals great damage. You just 100% need two attachments to increase ADS. Recoil is best suited for mer foregrip because you can keep movement speed respectable.
Hey Ace! Watching these Gun guides i was thinking that you should show us the general stats of the gun with these classes! After you set up the class, hows the ADS time, sprint to fire, etc. I think that would be amazing and could add even more indepth to your guides.

Damn, it really pains me that the SCAR isn't as good as it's counter parts in previous CoDs. By far one of my fav assault rifles in CoD history, so I hope that IW decides to buff it some how.
The SCAR is my baby in this game thanks to the MW2 nostalgia I get from it. An unrulely, demanding baby, but my baby nevertheless. I use the heaviest barrel, stipple grip, the stock that improves ADS speed, and then a foregrip of some type. I don't feel the need for the magazine attachments, it got drilled into me in MW2 how to handle the 20 mag cap. With that combo I have great range and slightly improved ADS + noticeably improved sprint out times along with improved recoil. Might need to play around with it a bit more, get the compensator on there at some point. But as is its just fast enough to handle Shoothouse while hosing anyone it can touch. I've had one person chew me out for using the SCAR of all things lol.

Soundar Rajan WW2 and BO4 and if I can find lobbies BO3 as well. I’m mainly a COD player and have been for 11 years. I was really banking on this one being good but nope. Idk maybe there’s some good sales on games now and might play something I haven’t already
I basically playing this game against bots and I don't care about the cosmetic stuff this game haves to offer because if you're not having fun because of some game mechanics then the game is horrible in any way.
Dallas BO4 wasn’t the best game for sure but it’s currently miles above and better than MW especially with that whole micro transactions change and you can get any weapons you want just by playing and earning reserves. MW isn’t going to change except all of these bug fixes they keep tuning and not listening to real feedback, this game is what it is and unfortunately it will remain this way forever
I will say I almost exclusively play HC at this point and between this, the M4, Kilo, and M13, the SCAR has to be my favorite of the assault rifles I've used in HC. That said, after playing some GW, it's definitely not a gun for CORE.

Driftor wnd ace are working together and they wont release guns the other creator has made videos on. Hence why driftor doesnt have videos on the mp7 and ace doesnt have the oden video. It might never get released due to the partnership
I JUST started using this gun last night, because I finished the majority of challenges for the AK47. Treating it similarly to the AK, the Scar isn't too bad. It definitely needs some attachments, I got through like 16 levels of the gun, and still don't have anything good on it yet... but keeping gun fights to the middle range, this gun owns. slightly more accurate than the AK, so for a pretty much stock gun, it can be decent, if you keep engagements on the longer side.
both are pretty similar to each other.. on par in my opinion with each other.. the scar has faster ttk and fire rate, the ak has bigger mag and reload speed, scar has better range (slightly) and better recoil pattern, the ak has better ads and ability to be customized better.. they both serve their purposes for sure and are both great :) especially if you are like me and hate the m4 and kilo users and want to fight back with something reasonably useful without being a scummy shitlord like them.
I’ve been having a lot of success with the SCAR in my games, but you didn’t harp on the other unique attachments such as the bipod foregrip and collapsible stock, the latter which increases movement speed and ADS plus sprint to fire. I like to alternate crouching/standing, but I feel the description of the foregrip works well with this “somewhat dropshotty” style. This gun has been my go-to in terms of achieving high streaks, but I have a much more different setup: - ForgeTAC 20” barrel - Stippled grip - 30 round extended mags - Bipod foregrip - Collapsible stock Although the ADS may still be slower than other ARs, I haven’t had trouble rushing with this set up. I don’t have trouble with picking out claymores and dealing with explosives, my perks are: - Scavenger - Resupply - Amped/Shrapnel (interchangeable depending on my mood) Secondary: Desert eagle - Monolithic suppressor - 5mW laser - 13 round mag - Stippled grip - Extended barrel Lethal = C4 Tactical = Stim I wonder what you think of this Ace? I encourage people to give it a try, I actually rush pretty hard with this albeit I believe my aim is pretty decent. Dunno, just wondering if the stock and foregrip work well, or is it a placebo.
Shehryar Malik I love the SCAR-H, I use CQC Barrel Compensator Viper Reflex Close Quarters stock, I believe 30-Round Magazines It’s weird, but the SCAR gets the job done for sure
If you don't have problem rushing with scar then your ping must be below 20..mine is around 70 so for me its a nightmare to rush with heavy guns like scar .

arber nuka it’s so weird that I’ve had the opposite experience at times, most of my games have been in lobbies ranging from 20-70ms ping (Google Fiber rules lol). I have issues with the SMGs (P90, MP7, and AUG) in terms of consistency. ARs are mostly alright except for the FAMAS which I swear at times needs like 4 bursts to register a kill sometimes (which I know is impossible)

@@mnihs3314 yep, but fal is semi auto, and oden is extremely slow ads and very low fire rate. Ak is the only competitor of Scar in HC. You can use either since you dont really need that many bullets even at worst circumstances.
Small suggestion: could you include in the next review how stopping power interacts with the various weapons? With some it seems to have more impact than with others. For example does it make the scar a 2 stk ? Or does it just extend its 3stk range?
Stopping power doubles the damage on every gun so for the scar it would be doing 70 damage in the 35 damage range in the body. Also Drifter did a video on it.
Yeah as someone stated in the replies to this comment... Drift0r did a video on stopping power, all stopping power on any gun makes the guns do double damage so if it was in the 35 damage range, with stopping power you would be doing 70.. so from the sounds of that you should be doing 1 shot headshots but I am not sure how the headshot damage is affected by stopping power rounds because if the headshot multiplier is still there with headshot damage then you would be doing 112 per bullet to the head for a one shot but idk if it multiplies headshot damages for stopping power or not it may just double the bullet damage and take away the multiplier for 70 damage headshots idk how that works... but in general for all guns stopping power doubles damage.. which makes the deagle and 357 1 shot body shot in closer ranges and turns the deagle into a very nice gun even to use as a primary if your running tune up.
@@sg1reconalpha828 stopping power doesn't double bullet damage, it's a 1.4x multiplier. I did the testing in private match myself. If it was double, a deagle bullet to the leg would be an instant kill, as it's a close range two-shot-kill to the leg, but it's still a two shot, which means it's a lower multiplier. Stopping power has also always been a 1.4x multiplier in every cod game, so it makes sense here as well.

I love the scar. So far I have the kilo, m4, scar, and the ak gold. I didn’t have fun getting any gun gold in this game simply because I was forcing myself to do it for whatever reason. But when I was doing the scar I felt like I was playing with the gun I wanted to play having a blast all the way through. The only thing I hated about having it gold is that I can no longer play with the gun because all the challenges are done and it’s maxed out... I use every once in a while and have a blast doing. I’d say it’s something to do with the look and feel of the gun. It sounds good and looks good, and I love the iron sights. Idk, to me the scar is my favorite ar in the game.
One thing to improve these guides that I notice driftor doing in his in depth videos would be to give the cap on ads time and sprintout time when using all the aggressive attachments. Since I personally always run an aggressive setup it's super helpful to know how much i can decrease those two values before the game caps me.
Thank you so much for covering my favorite gun. I'm running 17 inch barrel but now switching to 20 do to better recoil and no further downside from the 17 inch. Also running camando foregrip with a tac lazer, stippled grip and the stock that just raises ads. With this setup you get an ads almost as fast as an SMG, easy to control recoil and only downside is a lazer beam yelling hey enemy I'm coming around the corner. either way this is a great gun and absolutely shreds at all ranges.
I want to love the SCAR so badly, it was one of my favorites when I was playing the old CoDs. I just can't see it being competitive anywhere outside HC modes :/
You should do the mk2. A setup that works for me is 24 inch factory barrel and monolithic suppressor to increase the 1 shot kill range, stippled grip tape and tac laser to counteract the ads penalty for the barrel and muzzle attachments and sleight of hand because you want to stay close to the enemies to stay in the one shot kill range plus the weapon reloads one round at a time so you want to be able to reload quickly so you can get back In the action as fast as possible
I don't even know how many times he has left out unique attachments. Snatch grip for PKM and now bipod foregrip for SCAR. It's so sad that this series is the most systematic one and he's still leaving stuff out. Grateful, but disappointed.
I LOVE the Scar 17. It's my go to Assault Rifle alongside the AK-47. I dunno why people think it's a weak gun. Sure, it doesn't have a massive strength in some regard but it doesn't necessarily fail in anyway. The Scar-17 has better irons and less recoil, meant for accurate shots limited by a 20 round mag (which doesn't bother me). The AK-47 kicks like a mule and the irons can be obtrusive but it retains a three shot kill to the chest at all ranges. If I recall, despite the poor wording they buffed the ADS speed of the Scar. The Scar is a reliable gun, don't doubt it.
Since bo4 has a "fair way" to gain any dlc weapon you want can you back to that and do gun guides for the dlc weapons. Honestly I'm sick of this game so I've gone back to bo4 and I would enjoy those vids alot more than modern warfare
I hated the Scar whole time when i was leveling it up to max. Then i found out my setup finally - Biggest barrel, compensator, stippled grip tape, ads stock and fully loaded, this class is the best imo.
There Are 2 Stocks For Aiming Stability 1 For I Think Either Aim Walking Movement Speed or ADS Speed then the Collabsible Stock Is Basically No Stock that Looks Cooler that gives Movement and ADS Speed
If you put the bipod on it for the under-barrel and attach a sniper scope/variable zoom as an optic, it is a very competitive long range wpn. Even against snipers in building and you get those headshots. Compensator, 25 RD mag and the barrel that increases bullet velocity, and damage range will add even more power to this long range assault rifle.
I love the Scar H. Used it in Modern Warfare 2 so it's nostalgic to me especially with a holo sight, blue tiger camo and semtex grenade. All I'm missing are the dual wield Raffica's 😆

I actually love the SCAR. Its supposed to be slow and weak compared to other guns but my god it melts people. And the iron sights are straight from heaven.
I have everything unlocked for this rifle except a few camos, I really like this rifle. I think that the rifle maxed out is when you can really modify the rifle for CQB, Marksmen, and general distance combat.
*R* scar h in bo2 shot at 600 rpm had a 3 to 4 shot to kill, and had a HSM of 1.2X which made it a two tap to the head at most if not all ranges... Which is why I said similar stats, of course handling and ads all guns in bo2 have faster handling and ADS than modern warfare rebooted...
The Skar was the second gun I’ve gotten gold behind the M4A1 of course. But slow your play style down a bit and ads before cutting corners and with the right attachments, and it’s a great gun! Heavy hitter for sure at the longer ranges so throw on a high zoom optic or a hybrid for ground war and watch the streaks come in.
Well, I am totally corrected. I ran the CQC setup for maybe two hours and did great, all things given. It was actually a ton of fun on grind and mixed mode shoot house.
I like using the Scar, I’d use it over the AK47 much more controllable with the same stopping power surprised you didn’t talk about the bipod foregrip for the scar it’s a very unique attachment
Hey, Ace! I know you said this gun needs a buff (and maybe it does), but i've been using this as an Marksman rifle. *Longest barrel attachment, Sniper scopes, compensator, merc grip, and free attachment of your choosing* (compensator can be switched out too, tbh preferably for ADS buff attachments:) You can pick off other AR's and smg's out from a really good range. The thing is actually pretty beast if you put it on semi-auto and you have a good trigger finger/ discipline. That head multiplier and range buff from the barrel is a huge plus. Been using it for the bridge, Aniyah, GW, and some Petrograd. It stands out every time.
I think the main edge this gun has over the other comparable guns is that unlike the AK, it’s recoil is really controllable and smooth even at long range despite doing less damage, and it kills with one less bullet than the Amax. The closest thing to it is actually the SA87, which one could argue is better though both suffer from handling issues the moment you decide to stack attachments for range or stability, with the SCAR suffering slightly less. I think a good way to balance is to increase the base range or 3 shot kill potential out to the same range as the EBR since they both use the same ammo.
Ace, you forgot the bipod foregrip, the unique underbarrel attachment for the scar It combines, essentially, the operator foregrip and the bipod, and takes the place of the ranger foregrip It has recoil control, plus even more recoil control when crouching and even more with prone The math was done, it reduces recoil by 51% when prone It increases aim down speed and decreases movement speed as it's penalties Honestly, it perfectly shows what the scar is for, tactical positioning and range, if you like playing smart and destroying braindead rushers, the scar is for you :) -a guy who has an obsidian scar, camo, emblem, and calling card
I think I got some attachments that are really good. The 17 inch barrel, lightweight suppressor, angled grip, stippled grip or whichever one it is that increases ads speed, and a holographic sight. After you learn to tame the recoil a bit, this is all the recoil control you need and don’t need any grip other than the angled. And sometimes I get rid of the grip to add sleight of hand or fully loaded

U can use it in hardcore. 1 shot kill all range. Not as good as ak47 when shooting through cover, but still very good

This thing needs a buff for warzone. Like if I put ANY optic on it and use a loadout suited for long range it literally feels like a 50” Cal sniper.

I have a few “buff“ ideas, mixed or used separatly:
1) add upper torso multiplier (like ak or oden)
2) damage increas to 42-38 with 1,49 headshot-multiplier
3) remove 25 round mag and give the stats to the 30 round mag. Add a 50 round drum mag with slower ads- and movementspeed
4) add a 6,5mm creedmore conversion. 20 round mag, same damage and rpm, but streched damage range (like 300 blackout m13 or 10mm mp5) and a bit lower recoil
Or a 75 round drum mag and you can turn it into the HAMR

The scar shoots a larger round than the AK in real life, so why does the scar not have a chest multiplier? Also, why does the scar shoot faster than the AK, when it should be the other way around, due to the scar’s larger cartridge?

The Scar-H/17 shoots faster than most 7.62x39mm chambered AKs at about 675 rpm whereas the AKs shoot at about 600 to 650 rpm. Remember, the chambering of the gun has little to no effect on the gun's cyclic rate. :)

You’re definitely going to get outgunned most of the time, however with practice and learning how to use it, you can definitely dish out damage and gain the upper hand. You must play more methodically, not run and gun, to see true success with it. I’ve had my success with these attachments:

TAC laser
Collapsible stock
Fully loaded
Merc foregrip
I avoid sights since your ADS will get worse. Run this set up guys it’s good. I got the gold skin with it, and it feels really good having it gold and not some other weapon like the M4 or MP5 which is all you see. Bragging rights haha.
Thats not true. This gun gets outclassed no matter the situation it has too much recoil and slow fire rate compared to other guns
That means itll get out classed by guns like the m4/kilo and m13 at range. And by all submachine guns up close where as other guns can atleast put up a fight
miguel santana sorry but you're wrong as long as you land your shots its a fast killer. you have to play very smarts as the for mentioned guns have faster handling but if you're smart and know when to have your sights up shot for shot it competes with meta weapons

If you’re rushing, roaming through the map and encounter someone chances are you’re gonna lose the gunfight. You must play differently and change your strategy for success. I will say this though, the gun is powerful. A few shots and they drop.

When you say attachments have a “4% movement speed decrease” what exactly do you mean by that? Does it go from 93% down to 89% as just a flat decrease, or is it actually 4% of 93 which would be slightly over 89%? Doesn’t make a big difference for these attachments that have a small percentage change, but on some that increase or decrease speeds by 10% or so it can have a bigger impact depending on how it’s calculated.

Christopher Bailey Weapons have max bonuses, so no, you can’t stack them all together. After usually two attachments, they stop helping. However, a video that focuses on what the cut off is for each gun stat would be nice, but I think it changes per gun, so it could be a very complex video.

If it were a decrease in 4 percentage points, it would result in 89% movement speed, but because it's a decrease in percent, we get a little over 89% movement speed (89.28% to be precise).

If you can control recoil well manually, 1 attachment for recoup control should do the trick in minimizing recoil as much as is necessary, even for the AK. I’ve done testing on maximizing recoil control and how each underbarrel grip compares to its counterparts and found that merc foregrip has the best decreases in vertical recoil. The others are pretty similar to each other with slight deviations in horizontal recoil but it comes down to what cons you’re willing to deal with when selecting the underbarrel.
If you’re an aggressive player, try this:
AK47
Merc foregrip
Monolithic suppressor
5 mW laser
Stippled tape (i think this is the one that boosts Sprint to fire speed)
Skeleton stock

Jonathan Murillo would you recommend the ranger foregrip on the mp5 or the merc foregrip to reduce more recoil? Also, ranger says it increases aim stability as well so does that mean ranger is better for longer range combat than the merc?
If you're hitting your shots it is devastating and epic. If you miss just one or two your TTK has now gone through the roof and you're watching a kill cam, sad, lonely, wondering why you haven't cleaned the house today, and why you called in sick just to watch killcams.
The scar was my favorite gun in mw2 and I was soooo excited to see it in mw but I was so disappointed of how it performed. The gun has too many downsides: small mag, slow movement speed, slow ads, and moderate recoil. I just wished they would give it something special. Maybe give it the fastest ads or maybe shoot like a laser like it did in mw2. Man I’d be happy if it’s magazine was a standard 30 and kept everything else the same. This gun is just outclassed by every other rifle. Still, it’s my most used gun.

yeah, the ak47 is great but the scar seems to be more accurate.
It's the only gun so far that has gotten me juggernaut twice. 1st time I screwed up and didn't equip it for the challenge.
This really shows you how little the guys who make cod know about guns. As someone that owns a scar 16 and has shot a scar 17, I can tell you that either model weighs less than the average ar15 and especially ar10. The idea that this gun should be that slow and handle more like a lmg is not based in any kind of reality. Let’s not forget the fact that it’s shooting a more powerful cartridge than an ak but they do the same damage in the game essentially
This gun would be fantastic if they increased ADS speed slightly, and increased reserves. Change the +5 mag to a +10 without any negative impact.
And change the +10 to a +20 5.56 conversion

looking back on this gun guide, i would easily recommend TAC laser now, as well as merc foregrip, stippled grip tape, and a CQC stock. the last attachment i find is prefence between sleight of hand, fully loaded, or 25 ammo clip.
Scar is underrated in Traditional game modes and really doesnt need a sight, barrel, or suppressor. it can be pretty snappy and deals great damage. You just 100% need two attachments to increase ADS. Recoil is best suited for mer foregrip because you can keep movement speed respectable.

Damn, it really pains me that the SCAR isn't as good as it's counter parts in previous CoDs. By far one of my fav assault rifles in CoD history, so I hope that IW decides to buff it some how.

The SCAR is my baby in this game thanks to the MW2 nostalgia I get from it. An unrulely, demanding baby, but my baby nevertheless. I use the heaviest barrel, stipple grip, the stock that improves ADS speed, and then a foregrip of some type. I don't feel the need for the magazine attachments, it got drilled into me in MW2 how to handle the 20 mag cap.
With that combo I have great range and slightly improved ADS + noticeably improved sprint out times along with improved recoil. Might need to play around with it a bit more, get the compensator on there at some point. But as is its just fast enough to handle Shoothouse while hosing anyone it can touch. I've had one person chew me out for using the SCAR of all things lol.
I use the longest barrel, stipple grip, collapsible stock, 30 round mag, and compensator on mine. Makes it ADS decently quick and handle well but also had decent range and not too much recoil
The scar from MW2 was an absolute monster. Silencer, iron sights and red tiger, all day my good man.

I basically playing this game against bots and I don't care about the cosmetic stuff this game haves to offer because if you're not having fun because of some game mechanics then the game is horrible in any way.
Dallas BO4 wasn’t the best game for sure but it’s currently miles above and better than MW especially with that whole micro transactions change and you can get any weapons you want just by playing and earning reserves. MW isn’t going to change except all of these bug fixes they keep tuning and not listening to real feedback, this game is what it is and unfortunately it will remain this way forever
I will say I almost exclusively play HC at this point and between this, the M4, Kilo, and M13, the SCAR has to be my favorite of the assault rifles I've used in HC. That said, after playing some GW, it's definitely not a gun for CORE.

I JUST started using this gun last night, because I finished the majority of challenges for the AK47. Treating it similarly to the AK, the Scar isn't too bad. It definitely needs some attachments, I got through like 16 levels of the gun, and still don't have anything good on it yet... but keeping gun fights to the middle range, this gun owns. slightly more accurate than the AK, so for a pretty much stock gun, it can be decent, if you keep engagements on the longer side.
both are pretty similar to each other.. on par in my opinion with each other.. the scar has faster ttk and fire rate, the ak has bigger mag and reload speed, scar has better range (slightly) and better recoil pattern, the ak has better ads and ability to be customized better.. they both serve their purposes for sure and are both great :) especially if you are like me and hate the m4 and kilo users and want to fight back with something reasonably useful without being a scummy shitlord like them.
I’ve been having a lot of success with the SCAR in my games, but you didn’t harp on the other unique attachments such as the bipod foregrip and collapsible stock, the latter which increases movement speed and ADS plus sprint to fire. I like to alternate crouching/standing, but I feel the description of the foregrip works well with this “somewhat dropshotty” style. This gun has been my go-to in terms of achieving high streaks, but I have a much more different setup:
- ForgeTAC 20” barrel
- Stippled grip
- 30 round extended mags
- Bipod foregrip
- Collapsible stock
Although the ADS may still be slower than other ARs, I haven’t had trouble rushing with this set up. I don’t have trouble with picking out claymores and dealing with explosives, my perks are:
- Scavenger
- Resupply
- Amped/Shrapnel (interchangeable depending on my mood)
Secondary:
Desert eagle
- Monolithic suppressor
- 5mW laser
- 13 round mag
- Stippled grip
- Extended barrel
Lethal = C4
Tactical = Stim
I wonder what you think of this Ace? I encourage people to give it a try, I actually rush pretty hard with this albeit I believe my aim is pretty decent. Dunno, just wondering if the stock and foregrip work well, or is it a placebo.

If you don't have problem rushing with scar then your ping must be below 20..mine is around 70 so for me its a nightmare to rush with heavy guns like scar .

arber nuka it’s so weird that I’ve had the opposite experience at times, most of my games have been in lobbies ranging from 20-70ms ping (Google Fiber rules lol). I have issues with the SMGs (P90, MP7, and AUG) in terms of consistency. ARs are mostly alright except for the FAMAS which I swear at times needs like 4 bursts to register a kill sometimes (which I know is impossible)

@@mnihs3314 yep, but fal is semi auto, and oden is extremely slow ads and very low fire rate. Ak is the only competitor of Scar in HC. You can use either since you dont really need that many bullets even at worst circumstances.

Small suggestion: could you include in the next review how stopping power interacts with the various weapons? With some it seems to have more impact than with others. For example does it make the scar a 2 stk ? Or does it just extend its 3stk range?

Stopping power doubles the damage on every gun so for the scar it would be doing 70 damage in the 35 damage range in the body. Also Drifter did a video on it.
I know stopping power works well with the Deagle and .44 Magnum, but yeah I agree that it feels like it affects some guns more than others.
Yeah as someone stated in the replies to this comment... Drift0r did a video on stopping power, all stopping power on any gun makes the guns do double damage so if it was in the 35 damage range, with stopping power you would be doing 70.. so from the sounds of that you should be doing 1 shot headshots but I am not sure how the headshot damage is affected by stopping power rounds because if the headshot multiplier is still there with headshot damage then you would be doing 112 per bullet to the head for a one shot but idk if it multiplies headshot damages for stopping power or not it may just double the bullet damage and take away the multiplier for 70 damage headshots idk how that works... but in general for all guns stopping power doubles damage.. which makes the deagle and 357 1 shot body shot in closer ranges and turns the deagle into a very nice gun even to use as a primary if your running tune up.
@@sg1reconalpha828 stopping power doesn't double bullet damage, it's a 1.4x multiplier. I did the testing in private match myself. If it was double, a deagle bullet to the leg would be an instant kill, as it's a close range two-shot-kill to the leg, but it's still a two shot, which means it's a lower multiplier. Stopping power has also always been a 1.4x multiplier in every cod game, so it makes sense here as well.

It's actually one of my favorite guns in the game.
I know it's not great statistacly but I really enjoy the feel of the gun.
I love the scar. So far I have the kilo, m4, scar, and the ak gold. I didn’t have fun getting any gun gold in this game simply because I was forcing myself to do it for whatever reason. But when I was doing the scar I felt like I was playing with the gun I wanted to play having a blast all the way through. The only thing I hated about having it gold is that I can no longer play with the gun because all the challenges are done and it’s maxed out... I use every once in a while and have a blast doing. I’d say it’s something to do with the look and feel of the gun. It sounds good and looks good, and I love the iron sights. Idk, to me the scar is my favorite ar in the game.
One thing to improve these guides that I notice driftor doing in his in depth videos would be to give the cap on ads time and sprintout time when using all the aggressive attachments. Since I personally always run an aggressive setup it's super helpful to know how much i can decrease those two values before the game caps me.

Thank you so much for covering my favorite gun. I'm running 17 inch barrel but now switching to 20 do to better recoil and no further downside from the 17 inch. Also running camando foregrip with a tac lazer, stippled grip and the stock that just raises ads. With this setup you get an ads almost as fast as an SMG, easy to control recoil and only downside is a lazer beam yelling hey enemy I'm coming around the corner. either way this is a great gun and absolutely shreds at all ranges.
I want to love the SCAR so badly, it was one of my favorites when I was playing the old CoDs. I just can't see it being competitive anywhere outside HC modes :/

You should do the mk2. A setup that works for me is 24 inch factory barrel and monolithic suppressor to increase the 1 shot kill range, stippled grip tape and tac laser to counteract the ads penalty for the barrel and muzzle attachments and sleight of hand because you want to stay close to the enemies to stay in the one shot kill range plus the weapon reloads one round at a time so you want to be able to reload quickly so you can get back In the action as fast as possible
I don't even know how many times he has left out unique attachments. Snatch grip for PKM and now bipod foregrip for SCAR. It's so sad that this series is the most systematic one and he's still leaving stuff out. Grateful, but disappointed.
I LOVE the Scar 17. It's my go to Assault Rifle alongside the AK-47. I dunno why people think it's a weak gun. Sure, it doesn't have a massive strength in some regard but it doesn't necessarily fail in anyway. The Scar-17 has better irons and less recoil, meant for accurate shots limited by a 20 round mag (which doesn't bother me). The AK-47 kicks like a mule and the irons can be obtrusive but it retains a three shot kill to the chest at all ranges. If I recall, despite the poor wording they buffed the ADS speed of the Scar. The Scar is a reliable gun, don't doubt it.
M4 remains the most buffed noob weapon.

If you put the bipod on it for the under-barrel and attach a sniper scope/variable zoom as an optic, it is a very competitive long range wpn. Even against snipers in building and you get those headshots. Compensator, 25 RD mag and the barrel that increases bullet velocity, and damage range will add even more power to this long range assault rifle.
So a 7.62×39 is stronger than a 308? This game don't add up.

I love the Scar H. Used it in Modern Warfare 2 so it's nostalgic to me especially with a holo sight, blue tiger camo and semtex grenade. All I'm missing are the dual wield Raffica's 😆

I have everything unlocked for this rifle except a few camos, I really like this rifle. I think that the rifle maxed out is when you can really modify the rifle for CQB, Marksmen, and general distance combat.
So it’s basically a worse version of the black ops 2 scar h...
How can you even compare them,they are in completly diffrent games

@@primexample8912 Stats are nowhere near similar. Damage, fire rate, handling, headshot dmg... arent similar at all.
*R* scar h in bo2 shot at 600 rpm had a 3 to 4 shot to kill, and had a HSM of 1.2X which made it a two tap to the head at most if not all ranges...
Which is why I said similar stats, of course handling and ads all guns in bo2 have faster handling and ADS than modern warfare rebooted...

The Skar was the second gun I’ve gotten gold behind the M4A1 of course. But slow your play style down a bit and ads before cutting corners and with the right attachments, and it’s a great gun! Heavy hitter for sure at the longer ranges so throw on a high zoom optic or a hybrid for ground war and watch the streaks come in.

Well, I am totally corrected. I ran the CQC setup for maybe two hours and did great, all things given. It was actually a ton of fun on grind and mixed mode shoot house.
Why has a mostly polimer gun(scar) slower ads than a steel and wood gun(ak)
Google says scar is 8 pounds and ak is 7. Dont know the balance though

I like using the Scar, I’d use it over the AK47 much more controllable with the same stopping power surprised you didn’t talk about the bipod foregrip for the scar it’s a very unique attachment

This gun reminds me of the fg42 from cod WWII. Huge damage at cost of mobility, way under utilized. Deserves much more love
Why use the merc grip? Isn't Ranger better for recoil?

I know you said this gun needs a buff (and maybe it does), but i've been using this as an Marksman rifle.
*Longest barrel attachment, Sniper scopes, compensator, merc grip, and free attachment of your choosing* (compensator can be switched out too, tbh preferably for ADS buff attachments:) You can pick off other AR's and smg's out from a really good range.
The thing is actually pretty beast if you put it on semi-auto and you have a good trigger finger/ discipline. That head multiplier and range buff from the barrel is a huge plus. Been using it for the bridge, Aniyah, GW, and some Petrograd. It stands out every time.
after leveling scar to 30, I can say this gun is garbo.
I think the main edge this gun has over the other comparable guns is that unlike the AK, it’s recoil is really controllable and smooth even at long range despite doing less damage, and it kills with one less bullet than the Amax. The closest thing to it is actually the SA87, which one could argue is better though both suffer from handling issues the moment you decide to stack attachments for range or stability, with the SCAR suffering slightly less. I think a good way to balance is to increase the base range or 3 shot kill potential out to the same range as the EBR since they both use the same ammo.
Ace, you forgot the bipod foregrip, the unique underbarrel attachment for the scar
It combines, essentially, the operator foregrip and the bipod, and takes the place of the ranger foregrip
It has recoil control, plus even more recoil control when crouching and even more with prone
The math was done, it reduces recoil by 51% when prone
It increases aim down speed and decreases movement speed as it's penalties
Honestly, it perfectly shows what the scar is for, tactical positioning and range, if you like playing smart and destroying braindead rushers, the scar is for you :)

I think I got some attachments that are really good. The 17 inch barrel, lightweight suppressor, angled grip, stippled grip or whichever one it is that increases ads speed, and a holographic sight. After you learn to tame the recoil a bit, this is all the recoil control you need and don’t need any grip other than the angled. And sometimes I get rid of the grip to add sleight of hand or fully loaded
