I remember going to watch the Bay Bombers at Kezar Pavillion as a kid.

One of the strongest men's lineup I've ever seen field by the Bombers, and yet they were used several times. Simply no excuse for O'Connell to laze his ass and not try to mix it up on the blocking.

When the IRSL first started, the teams were really stacked with talent. This Chiefs team was very strong too, but I have to agree that the Bombers lineup was tops in the league.

This is one of the things that destroyed Roller Derby. Bringing back top players from decades past, such as Gerry Murray, was ridiculous and a huge mistake. Murray was in her upper 50s. They should have tried to foster newer, younger stars, and not live in the past to advance it's future.

So, it was a mistake to have Gerry skate, even though she was in great shape, skated well and was used to train the younger skaters? Her knowledge was priceless and the fans loved seeing a legend out there. The IRSL had a number of younger skaters who they pushed like James Paul, Claudia Hobdy, Delores Holmes, Wilma Ryan, Terri Inabnett, Larry Stull, etc., etc.

Isn't Jerry playing against her daughter in law

Yes, Gerry Murray was on the Manhattan Chiefs when the league first started up and then switched over to the Pioneers. She was never on the same team as her son and daughter in law in the IRSL.
