Thank you Vase! This is a great and detailed review of everything in AH LCG, very useful for us collectors! I enjoyed it and appreciate your comments. All the best!
I've been considering getting this for my gaming group but... well, there's a lot of questions that come up from looking at all of the products. While that's thematically appropriate considering the theme... well, it would be a considerable investment. Thus, I thank you for taking the time to make this and answering those questions.
Excellent vid, thanks. I've ordered a single core set and a copy of the Dunwich pack. I'll be playing solo with 2 investigators so I hope I'll have a good choice of player cards
You will. Dunwich has some great staples that a large portion of decks use. Especially mystics and seekers. Plus, it's always nice having a bunch of new investigators to experiment and deck-build with! - Innkeeper Vase Odin - Innkeeper Vase Odin
I don't recommend you get the "Return to" sets until you have a couple of full campaigns. The "Return to" sets don't give you too many player cards and don't add to the story, they just change some mechanics and encounter cards. In other words, they "spice up" the original a bit, but I think the money is best spent on another deluxe expansion first. The "Return to" sets are good, but it is probably the last thing I'd recommend for new players. - Innkeeper Vase Odin
Im just discovering this game myself. Im in canada however and am finding it difficult to find most of the expansions to even purchase. is it possible to play with half the 6 packs missing? And i cant find any of the first 2 expansions unless i want to pay hundreds on ebay does this company never reprint?!....
FFG is kind of small, so they have a very slow reprint process. The best place to purchase packs is online, as there are many retailers that carry all of the packs. Not sure about online retailers and Canada, but that is certainly an option. In regards to wether you can play the campaign with missing packs: you can, but you'll miss parts of the story if you miss a pack. You can always play them as standalone stories too. The way the campaigns work is that each pack is like an episode in a show and the overall campaign is like the main story of a show's season. So most of the packs can work fine individually as short little stories. The player cards will work for you no matter what, and every pack has several good cards, so missing packs is not a big deal in terms of player cards. - Innkeeper Vase Odin
So instead of releasing updated versions with bugfixes they release 'return to..' packs, so you still have to buy both?! Well i guess i stay away from the whole game then.. Thanks for the info
Probably not anytime soon. I love fan-made scenarios and would love to try a full campaign, but my plate is full until at least January or so. - Innkeeper Vase Odin
how much would you say a complete cycle costs? (excluding the Return To Set) Probably going to dip my toes into the core set before the end of the year, but I'm curious what I'm getting myself into.
A delixe expansion is usually 30 USD and each mythos pack is about 15 USD (and there are 6). So a full cycle should run about $120 USD. If you can afford it, I'd say it's totally worth it. - The Innkeeper
I still agree that 2 cores are pretty necessary, but it's becoming less of an issue for some who have most of the expansions and such. - Innkeeper Vase Odin
I have no intention of buying 2 core sets, that feels stupid! I've ordered a single core set and would rather add player cards from buying new campaigns 😀
The card pool has grown tremendously since the game's release and if you have a lot of the releases you'd have plenty of options without purchasing a second core. Although I still recommend a second core at some point, it is certainly not as necessary now. - Innkeeper Vase Odin

@@TwistedTentacleInn Thanks. It's good to know that I don't absolutely need to buy 2 copies of the core game. That just feels like a rip-off to me!
I just got into this game and your channel has been so helpful man thank you so much! Keep up the great work man looking forward to the dream eaters!
Thanks!

Thanks for the review. Do you recommend any of the apps to assist play? (Btw. You’ve got a good voice for Arkham Horror)
Ah thank you! If you have android, I like the Arkham Horror LCG app. It helps track your campaign and such, though it only goes to forgotten age
Is an updated expansion video on the horizon?
Thanks so much! I enjoyed the video
Thank you!

Thank you vase. I recently purchased path to carcosa, but i cant get any of the mythos packs :(
Some of the older ones are hard to find right now. After the pandemic calms down, I'm sure things will be easier to find.

Do you recommend buying the Return to Se to Dunwich with the Dunwich? And just play the Dunwich with the fixed rules to begin with?

great video, agree with your thoughts. I'm playing with Leo Anderson solo The Forgotten Age and it's difficult and exciting at the same time ;)
I really enjoy it, it's a matter of knowing what you're getting into and having the right expectations for it.

@@TwistedTentacleInn I'm guessing each of the mythos packs has an equivilant amount of content to the standalone pack? (2-4 hours for the scenario)
@@jonathonfreeman9233 the standalone scenarios tend to be longer, but mythos packs have player cards (which standalones don't) .

Honestly I'd recommend for anyone to buy two core sets because some decks just aren't playable on anything but easy mode if you don't have it 🤔
I still agree that 2 cores are pretty necessary, but it's becoming less of an issue for some who have most of the expansions and such.
- Innkeeper Vase Odin
@@TwistedTentacleInn so is it possible to play with 4 people if i buy a deluxe expansion instead of two cores?
It is possible, but your decks will be forced to take cards you may not necessarily want.
