      I agree. If you're a fan of Mopar though, you might also want to check out the 1971 Chrysler Valiant VH Charger R/T E38. It's a 265 factory built race car with triple Webbers. Chrysler also did an absolutely gorgeous VH Pacer with a 265. Also, if it's just about grunt, go check out the 1971 Ford XY Falcon GTHO Phase III. It was so powerful that the Aus Gov decided to shut down production of the Phase 4 with only four built. The 1972 Ford XA Falcon GTHO Phase IV is the most expensive Aussie muscle car there is. One just sold for AU $1.75 million. Personally, I prefer the Phase III.

      I'm a Dart fan but there is a close match you hear little about. The factory Mercury Cyclone 427.

      @@larryyeargan9821 I worked with a guy in the 80s who had one and drove it to work every day . Yellow body color with a black interior. They were rare but not as rare as these by far . The other thing about the Cyclone is they are heavy real heavy which gave them a disadvantage to other muscle cars that weight much less and made more HP. Check out a RUclips channel called Cars and Zebras because they show one on it running at the drag strip and the guy commentator goes through the options for engine rear gears trans and other stuff of each car then compares what they cost back then and how much that money back then is in today's money . Most of the time they run a best out of 3 and switch sides of the track . He usually also includes the temperature barometric pressure and wind speed along with time of day at the track . I've watched hundreds of his videos and not once did I see one of these pull in to race mostly street driven 340 darts which hold their own but none of these just because they are so rare with only 80 produced by Hurst .

    When I was in the Army (1970) I bought a 1969 Dart GTS with a 383, 4 bbl., and a 4 speed. Dark green with a black vinyl roof. 8 track player, too! I put headers on it and drove it back home for storage because I had gotten orders for Germany. A few months later I got a letter from home saying that my Dad had sold it. Never saw it again and have never seen another one like it.

    Is it just me or is the space between the fender well and the rear tires almost non-existent on the front of the rear fender? Those tires will swell if car launches hard, for me, they're toooo close for comfort!!!

    I had one in high school with a 383 and it was a very very fast and very very fun car they are still very affordable when you compare them to other cars that are bringing a lot more money they're not as popular but they do compare on excitement

    • @just-incase
      @just-incase Год назад

      They were the lightweights that were meant to be mass produced with slant 6 engines. Those slant sixes would give you a quarter million miles out of them no problem. Any V8 that got put in them though was pure excitement. From the 318 on up past the M code 440, it only got more crazy exciting. It kind of goes beyond to put any big block whatsoever in those things. I'll bet your 383 scared the pants off a few people back in the day.

    Wrong paint and I don't know about that wheel well story--sounds like bs. If you really knew about these cars you would have mentioned the acid dipped panels, all the options deleted from the dash and the fact that they were not painted.
