She has a pure heart…. Instead of holding her mom accountable she’s reasoning…as a child we make excuses for our parents as to why they do certain things…. Wish her mom was a lot stronger than she was so she could’ve provided a better life for her children😢
Unfortunately, no you’re wrong. Good take tho. Just wrong. She’s already reasoned with it when she was a kid. She’s holding her mom accountable hence her saying “I’d never say that she didn’t have any money because that would be untrue, she just used it for other things”. Very much holding her mom accountable. But as we age, we see that our abusive parents are also ✨ humans ✨ and they are flawed and ugly and selfish. It’s ok to find a reason for the action. It’s empathic to see WHY someone did something. It’s called putting yourself in their shoes. Understanding the WHY doesn’t equal not holding someone accountable-it’s quite actually the complete opposite so I’m not even sure how you got to that conclusion honestly

As an older sister myself- I think the part that touched me the most was when you’re in the hot car with your sister. It amazes me how after all the neglect you were still mad for your sister, not yourself. ‘I understand why they left me in the car but they didn’t have to leave her.’ Just shattered me. I’m sorry your mom couldn’t beat her addiction, but you turned around and made a loving life for yourself. Yours is a once in a lifetime story ❤️ you deserved better so you went out and earned it!
@@newyorkfreda i understand, but why do drugs around your children in the first place? then bring strangers around them who sexually abuse them? she didn’t care. that is being careless.
@thedolllovett - why did scores of men become alcoholics in front of their wives and kids for decades? Addiction is the issue. I'm not saying these people shouldn't be punished or shouldnt have their kids taken away. Most of these people were very unhappy and often abused themselves as kids- drugs or alcohol addiction is the result.

So many children have experienced the evil of others in silence. I can’t imagine the shame she carried knowing her mother wasn’t able to care for her properly. I am so sorry for all the trauma you’ve experienced. No one deserves such a life. You’re a miracle and a blessing to have survived such neglect. God bless you.
I love how empathetic you are towards your mother Latrea. It takes a strong person to be empathetic towards an addict. Understanding and Forgiveness is essential for growth and progression. It took me many years to figure it out.
Pfeiffer syndrome is a complex genetic disorder in which certain bones in the skull fuse (join together) early in their development. This prevents the skull from growing normally, affecting the shape of the head and face and sometimes causing increased pressure around the brain.
Even though you have a disability God blessed you with an amazing abundance of wisdom and grace. Sometimes our hardships makes us stronger and who we are as adults. I know your sister is thankful for having you by her side. You are an absolute angel and I’m glad you shared your story with us.
Amazing how despite her struggle through the worst circumstances imaginable she learned to put herself first. She is a role model for so many people, disabled or not.
My parents had a LOT of problems and I suffered a great deal as a result - I was depressed, had anxiety attacks, went hungry at times, etc. I forgave them and never got bitter about it, I feel bad for them that they felt justified in their behaviours and blamed ME for it. The biggest challenge was learning to accept and care for myself. Getting stronger every day by the grace of God. This woman had it even tougher than me, I'm glad she was able to create a better life for herself and have a family!

There are so many people that needs to hear this and understand that we all face challenges, some more than others. The message to this story is that whatever you face in life, if its worth fighting for while keeping the faith, then fight for it by any means because you are worthy and because you love you.
