I allowed two of my players to be Androids, the engineer/mechanic was one, and the Doctor/Scientist was the other. The remaining four players I had were human. I had two Marines, an engineer/mechanic, a doctor/medic/scientist, a pilot who was also the captain, and the company/corporate representative.
This is much better than MANY of the others I tried to watch. Not goofy at all. Did not take me out of the story. Well done team. Oh, blow your nose. :)
1:54:00 If you roll a 1 on the stress die I believe you fail entirely. Your successes count for nothing. You could have all successes except the one die and still fail Edit: Okay got it wrong. You can’t PUSH a roll if you rolled a 1 on the stress die. You can still pass with your original roll. Some panic effects will cause you to fail no matter what. Like if you try to shoot something and panic causes you to drop your gun. Watching this made me start reading the rules last night, so I don’t have them just right yet.
@@DorkTales the system is pretty easy and intuitive, but this particular scenario seems like hell to run. So many NPCs, so many moving parts, and jumping around on the map seems tough. I mean I LOVE the adventure, it just feels like a lot for a starter set. I plan to run it late this month or early next, but I am definitely intimidated.
Honestly, we're working our way through Destroyer of Worlds and it's going much smoother. Different vibe, but it might be worth a look. Thanks for the comments and good luck!
Having just watcbed the first episode, I can confirm it was 6 barrels, 2 damage on the android, and the ex-human with the brain exposed was killed with a shotgun blast, not a combined attack. When I stream games, I rewatch the last session before I run the next one. It takes some time, but it helps a lot with recaps. Also, how did this guy make 2nd officer if taking the lead is directly against his personality? This module has some funny characters. "After you.. hotstuff." I was waiting for the "Captain hotstuff." reply, but then there was confusion... sad. Lol antivax scientist. "I'm ambidextrous. It's very handy." Omfg... Love it.
Wanna see how a ruptured jugular isn't fatal, check out kentucky ballistics when his .50 kaboomed in his face and he managed to jam his thumb in there to halt the bleeding.
Had this happen to a guy beside me in a box truck Humvee, backs to the wall riding in back. Bomb went off, sent a piece of metal screaming through the armor, took a chunk out of the neck of the Marine beside me. Corpsman sitting in the back with us basically choked the guy to death trying to control the bleeding. Busted a U-turn and drove the mile or so back to base where they tossed his ass straight into battalion surgical. Dude has literally nothing to show for it today except a Purple Heart and a wild-ass scar in his neck.
My favourite moments in this Chapter (contains a minor spoiler for anyone who hasn’t watched it all yet): The Sniper Wolf reference! Think I actually learnt the word Diazepam from that game. 😂 LOL’d at Captain Miller rushing to vaccinate himself in the lift right after a full discussion between the Wey-Yu folk about needing to convince the captain to do it. 😄 Christa’s funny facial expressions. Kelly: “And she’ll reach under her mattress and pull out… umm… uhhh…” Christa covering her face and laughing. We know what she was thinking. 😂
Listened to part 1 yesterday. Couldn't wait for part 2. Seriously, it's been so tense and at times, horrific. Brilliant stuff, you guys are great role players and a great team. Great GM-ing too, mother. I dream to be part of such a dramatic game.
So in this Episode a Xeno attacks a Synth, However, Xeno's only go for Syhth's if they show themselves to be a Threat literally passing Synth's to get at Humans/Animal's until the Synth acts against them ;)
There is a dodge Talent that indicates "When attacked in close combat, you can dodge. This works like blocking (see page 92), but you roll using MOBILITY instead of CLOSE COMBAT and you can only use it to reduce damage (not counterattack or disarm). You can even dodge a creature’s signature attack (see Chapter 11)."
I really enjoyed episode one. I’m interested in seeing where the story goes. I gotta be honest though I could live without all the pronoun crap at the start of this episode its annoying and really not needed. Concentrate on the game and less on woke ideology. Im sure the aliens don’t give a crap about what you are and neither do I it’s not relevant.
The Bloodburster is the end of act 1. So they probably should have done a distribution of points during the middle of the VoD - maybe they did it between sessions?
i bought the game 6 months ago and havent even unboxed it yet.... after watching this, i have unboxed it lol... Oh i dont understand the "..i use pronouns.." thing you all say at the start?
I loved this whole playthrough. You should do more. Drop the pronoun crap though. Edit for the deleted comment. I never brought up trans or queer people.
Glad you enjoyed it. But no, we have a diverse cast that includes trans and queer players. You can handle a combined 10 seconds of pronouns per 2-3 hour video.
@@DorkTales Who said anything anything negative about trans or queer people? It’s just dumb for any gender or sexuality. Makes the group look like low-IQ individuals when you’re not really. Either way, play Destroyer of Worlds.

Yeah, I was still stumbling through them during this series myself. I'm much more on top of them in the Destroyer of Worlds series.

it depends on the result on the panic table

"You and anyone who wants to stand too close to you, yep"

Despite the rules and map mixup, this was very fun. I'm enjoying the series.
Miller was carrying 5 medkits he took from medbay last episode (plus the six inoculations).

I didn't think you could dodge just block a close combat attack

Love the game..but tbh was frustrated with the lack of understanding of the game. Nice bunch though..so good luck
Yeah, I was learning as i went and a lot of the rules weren't sticking for some reason. Our Destroyer of Worlds playthrough is smoother.
No one has story points? as it seems halfway, during the combat, one of the players for sure was out and Robin could have dodged that way.
