We run our whole shed house with the Bluetti AC300, 3 B300 batteries, and 8 200 watt rich solar pannels. Never had any issues but we are mindful of running big loads at the same time.
I have two Bluetti's myself....A small 500W & a 2000W unit....Use them for anytime we have a power outage at home or in the motorhome when we are dry camping/boondocking....Units are great for that with things like electric blankets , making coffee etc ....This way we dont have to turn on the coach generator if we are in a quiet place ...Meadow is growing into such a beautiful dog....Stay safe, be well....

I'm not off grid, but I've used my Bluetti EB70S during power outages to charge my phone and camping lights. I've got the 200 W folding panels, too, but haven't used them yet.
I plan to use them both in my campervan to run my 12V fridge/freezer, and charge things, if I have to evacuate during wildfire season.

A generator like this is what I recommend to clients as a "main" power source, because it meets code without having to jump through the solar design and permit process. Which is a gigantic hassle.
Afterwards, you can do what you want with solar because in the eyes of the county, it's not technically your main power.
What do you mean by, "it's technically not your main power"? Would I run into problems with permits if this was my only power source? Sorry for the questions, just trying to get a better understandment of water and power regulations I would need to meet to make an offgrid property my main occupancy. Thanks

Technically, your main power source is a generator. Once your home is finished and you have occupancy, you can turn the generator off and use whatever you want as a source of power...solar, wind, hydro, propane, whatever.

I bought one of the first AC200s in a kickstarter campaign over 3 years ago, used it as my vans power system till I got the permanent system built. The AC200 is my backup system now and even being turned off for 6+ months it’s still at 100%…wish it had Bluetooth though but those first units didn’t come with it.
Glad to hear your AC200 is still treating you well! I agree, it would have been nice to have the bluetooth feature back then. It's amazing to see how far these have come in the past few years!

The great thing about the power boxes, is you don't need to. You just plug things into the AC or DC ports and USB plugs. My EB70S works with things up to 800 W.
It's nice to see a whole homestead being powered, though.

I have this exact set up but with the ac300. I have two separate systems each with two batteries.I can split the solar coming in and devices pulling on them between two units which helps keep the heat down inside the charge controller. The fan doesn’t have to cut on as much as when I only had one charge controller/inverter. My hope is this will lead to longer life of the unit but we will see. Doubling my solar input has been huge especially on overcast days. When my system was much smaller those overcast days really put me in the hole.

Hi Brian, good information as I get closer to full time. I recently purchased a Bluetti AC180 which currently is my main power source when we are at the property. I have been very pleased with its performance and couples with my 200 watt solar I have never been left in the dark.

My setup is much smaller, but eventually as I grow I'm sure I'll have to upgrade. I essentially have two systems. My 5th wheel is running on DC (lights, furnace, and water pump) while all my appliances are on a separate AC system. Definitely not the preferred setup. Look forward to the next video.

I'm still irritated at Bluetti for making me pay to fix my first gen EB70 when I discovered it had a known flaw with the BMS a month after the warranty expired, but I still like a lot of what they're doing. I still have an EB3A that I take camping and a PV120 solar panel that work well.

What difference if we recharge the battery from grid at 230V 3A vs. 230V 13A, from technical point of view? May I expect the loss of battery charge /internal usage to be reduced more with grid connection in stand-by (no recharge) in either 3A or 13A, always from technical point of view?
I am trying to reduce internal usage/loss of battery because simply with PV and/or grid plugged in (no input and no output, e.g. at night or battery full) the charge drop is significant... close to AC on (inverter consumption) modality... unbelievable
I have two Bluetti's. 200 Max and the AC 180. Both run great. I remember when Solar was 'Five dollars Watt' I got both Bluetti's on sale. The 180 was about '59 Cents a Watt!!! 59 Cents!!! Just unreal.

Hello, based on everyday use it will last at 100% capacity for 10 years. Then at that point the batteries will lose about 20% capacity so you'd have another 10 years with 80% of the initial storage.

Our older solar system looks just like Chads and needs replaced. We already have an AC500 and 2 B300S batteries but we need someone like the electrician friend you have that helped Chad create a plug to carry power from the AC500 to the cabin and also to create a plug to carry solar power from the panels to the AC500. One thing most homes in America need 240 volts not 120 only. 240 volt things would double their current level if they were converted to 120 volts. Most well pumps are 240 volts. 73

I think it would be better to make your own system using lithium type of batteries. A pure sine wave inverter that has 240 and 120 volt outputs, a charge controller. And what ever else you need. These portable power stations are meant for temporary power in emergencies. As for needing permits it's up to your local code enforcers that has a final say. It's best to keep everything up to code. This setup is good but the question is for how long? 73
Hi Ron, I actually think the tech has come far enough these days that they can run an entire homestead on their own 24/7. We've now been using this over at Chad's place for three weeks with zero issues. He never gets below 50% power storage so this system is more than enough to keep his place going. The lifespan is estimated to be around 10 years if you are using it daily.
I have 2 Bluetti products an EB70 & a portable solar panel The EB70 PD port quit working and the solar panel stopped working Buetti wont help me as they are out of warrantee and only just over one year old. Very disappointed as i paid full price for my gear and not given to me. SO i built my own system so if anything breaks I can fix it myself. All that equipment you are showing is very expensive and not in my budget.

Hey Vivian! Just getting my week started with Meadow, how are you doing?
I'm pretty sure I messed up and the land I bought requires you follow the universal building code, so I can't technically build any building without it being a minimum of 600sq feet. Need power, water, septic, and I'm pretty sure a road before I can get a certificate of occupancy. No way I can build a road to this property. It's a few miles of 4x4 trail just to get there! That's why I bought it! So far as I can tell, there is no work around, unless I'm missing something. It's Agricultural land in Colorado, so maybe I am missing something and I can actually do what I want. Who knows. Right now I don't think I can even do the shed conversion thing, or just build a simple 10x12 dry cabin to visit every once in a while. I don't live on this land yet, and wouldn't consider developing it for a few years I'm sure, so it's not like the biggest mistake, but it is annoying. And don't get me started on the 14 day/year camping limit on your own land... that's crazy.

Here in Colorado, land of tiny living, the building code requires you to build a 600SF house, minimum, and with building costs for anyone who wants real architects and contractors going upwards of $300/foot... And yeah, you can't camp on your own land for more than 14 days. It's in the code. LOL

Sorry Brian, it's far cheaper to buy individually. I can now buy a 100ah lifepo4 for 150 bucks. Sun Gold all in one 3000watt 24volt. That's my basic system.
Do you have a link for that at $150? The best I'm seeing from Sun Gold on their website for the system you mentioned is $1,321.00. Keep in mind, this is not apples to apples as the capacity and output is far inferior to what this Bluetti system can produce.

Thanks man, looking at the stats this is very different from what Bluetti is offering. Here are three key differences I noticed right off the bat...
1. It's just a battery. There is no charge controller, inverter, or outlets.
2. It's 12V, the Bluetti system is 120V.
3. This has a capacity of 1280Wh, the Bluetti system in my video is 12,244Wh.
I'm not saying anything bad about this battery but it's apples to oranges.
Also, at 120V this battery would only give you 10Ah....
