    After using and becoming more familiar with my a6400, and revisiting this video, you were spot-on in every point. My wireless lav mic has a headphone input (and vol control), so the "no headphone jack" is a non-issue and the lav mic was reasonably priced (Saramonic). I use it with a $10 bracket from Best Buy that gives me a sturdy handle and solves the common gripe about the position of the selfie screen. Because the selfie screen is right above the lens it's hard for people to tell when I'm looking at the screen and not into the lens. I imagine a side flip screen (like with a Canon) or an HDMI monitor would clearly show that I was looking away. Battery life is certainly not all day, but I picked up a Sony dummy battery on eBay for a great price and since I'm live streaming or recording in place, battery life is now a non-issue. Next, after a to be expected learning curve, the controls and settings are easy to understand and use. Yes, it takes time getting used to it and learning, but what new piece of equip. doesn't? Thanks for the honest hard hitting review. I'm very happy with my a6400 and I feel like I've barely scratched the surface of what it is capable of.

    I spent the whole night watching comparison / review videos on the A6400 and you hit the nail right on the head! There’s no pleasing everyone and you perfectly addressed the “downsides” vs what is really available in the market as alternatives. Great job and thank you!

    Man I love this! Everyone gets so sucked into specs, color science, blah, blah, blah...and most wouldn't even notice those things if it weren't for tech reviews pointing every detail out. It's RUclips content people..not cinema!! Get to shooting and STOP stressing about every single spec being perfect. It never will be.

      Yeah like why would bloggers care about rolling shutter? They're just either sitting at a table or walking around where the camera is only in their face. Unless you're going to be making pro action film with a lot of fast panning, you're going to want to drop the money on a real pro camera.

    • @miklosnemeth8566
      @miklosnemeth8566 4 года назад +1

      Exactly! What is interesting, if you are after near zero rolling shutter in video, it's available from the Sony A9, which has 1/160s full sensor readout time. All other sensors are around 1/40s. A9II has unlimited video recording, bigger battery, and full sensor downconverting 4K, excellent IBIS, and so on and forth, but it is a $4500 camera, the original A9 is $3500. The reviewer, Mark Singer, is totally right at 10:39 when evaluating the A6400. Just rank your preferences, and buy your camera accordingly.

Fortunately, all the person had to do is focus & shoot. Luckily, I bought a nice flash unit too as the church fotos came out super! I shot the reception photos & everyone was happy & amazed how well they came out! Glade I made this purchase!

    Great video and comments. I own a 6400 after using/trying (for a few weeks) an canon 80d and Nikon d7500. It is hard to beat. Unless I watch other RUclips channels I find it perfect for what I need for audio and video. As far as audio goes I used a rode micro but I found a lapel mic with a good recorder then syncing the audio to be the best for me. Audio comes in great and avoids the drama about where the mic sits. I do also own the relocation hot shoe piece but the lapel mic setup works so easy for me.

      I bought a Sony ICDUX560BLK 1". $73 USD and had good reviews. I was surprised how easy it was to sync. I was totally new to FCX and digital cameras of this scale. For me the ability to not deal with a dead cat setup and being separate audio makes videos easy and the quality comes out consistent. Granted its been all of 3 videos but its fast and more consistent for my use. Keep up the good work!

      Canon is more like apple, it is true. Canon makes life easier for the user, but is more expensive and is more limiting. Still love the autofocus on canon, still love their colors, sony is doing great thought and the 6400 is really the best buy at this time. The M50 II sounds interesting though, it just needs to stay in the same price range and give us no crop 24p 4k and dual pixel autofocus in 4k, that is it :)

    Great informative video just subscribed, not sure what lens should i get what you recommend? we do beyblade videos, somebody said to use the Sigma 16mm f/1.4 DC DN Contemporary Lens for Sony, but i have no idea i only use camcorders for our videos, Thank You keep up the great reviews

    • @Mark10ProVideo
      @Mark10ProVideo  4 года назад +5

      Thanks for the nice comment, zankye! Much appreciated. The sigma is a very good lens, but from the couple of videos I have seen on your channel, you need lots of depth of field so the viewers can see the whole beyblade arena. For that reason the f1.4 isn't necessary. Then again you can use it to get great cinematic shots of the beyblades themselves if that is something you're interested in doing.
      Also it is not a zoom lens, so you would loose some versatility right there. A camcorder might atually not be a bad idea to use, because they usually have small sensors which get you a lot of depth of field.
      Have you thought about maybe getting some nice lights and effects lights to enhance your videos that way? Like a red effects light for a red beyblade or something like that, to light the arena in a more interesting way?
      Maybe the 16 55 f2.8 G lens would be a good pick, allthough pretty expensive. It's a zoom and it is fast enough for nice product shots with a shallow depth of field using the 55mm tele end. Also the sony camera has a 120fps recording option for nice slowmotion. That could look cool as well. 16-70 zeiss lens or even the 16-50 kit lens can be just right for you actually.
      More questions? just ask:)

      @@Mark10ProVideo Thank you very much for answer! Mostly for my YT videos (now I have 50mm lens with Nikon and I'm switching to Sony). But also I'm planning to make some vlogs or videos/photos from vacations :) That's why I'm wondering to maybe start with kit lens which will give me more flexibility, but on the same side I'm worried about the lightness of this sony kit lens... My 50mm is f/1.4 so I think you understand my hesitation :)

    • @Mark10ProVideo

      @@pielegnatka It is a nice little kit lens, but if you re used to such a nice lens, maybe check out the new 1650 f2.8 that should give you good versatility and high quality.
      Also at 16mm it is wide enough for handheld vlogging.
      If stills was all you wanted to do, then a single prime like the sigma 35mm f1.4 would also be good, because restrictions can spark creativity.
      Overall for stills and video i would reccomend a zoom.

    I moved to the Sony 6400 for ONE reason. auto focus. I can deal with everything else. I've used canons, nikons and panasonics and none can touch this. There's no point having all these other features, if your shot is not in focus. I got tired of re shooting takes or getting back to post and finding that shot I wanted to use wasn't in focus. I ended up resorting to a handycam which worked well in this area but I needed the flexibility of multiple lenses for fast glass. Sony has sorted that for me. I'm pretty happy right now, but pissed off that the journey cost me so much and took me so long

    f**kkk...why does A6400 look so good and im still waiting for the fuji H2 to save the world or some shit...i swear if the h2 is no good then im moving ships to sony or some other brands lol.
    though is the a6400 good for low light, im guessing the log profile will help a lot with that issue compared to full frame that can manage low light + less noise and higher iso capabilities (with less noise) just guessing and speculating here so feel free to correct me if i get anything wrong.

      H2....nice.....the H1 is a pretty underrated, almost forgotten camera. Very good one as well. The X-T3 and 30 kinda stole the spotlight. H2 might be a real hit it out of the park product. Fuji makes some good gear right now. But yes, the A6400 looks mighty nice and is a total bullseye in my opinion for wht it is marketed as.

      TubeNoob I’m not knocking your review, Awesome Video 👍, loved it! I do think the 6400 is a great camera. Just for content creators who don’t shoot in 4K, the M50 is much better all around. I’m not sold on the Picture quality aspect of it. As far as I’m concerned “ Picture quality” is pretty much the same. Maybe you can do a video on the quality and change my mind. You didn’t say 1080 I did and it’s something that should be considered

    • @Mark10ProVideo
      @Mark10ProVideo  5 лет назад

      Thanks, Bowersachs! Appreciate it!
      Mh....maybe I should do a quick comparison....I did use the M6 for along time and the m3 before that....
      As far as ease of use is concerned, the canons win that comparison. But MUCH better all around...I don't know....the M50 doesn't have a single log profile, it doesn't have a fully manual timelapse mode, the screen doesn't have a sunny weather option, the native m lens selection doesn't seem to be developed as one would hope.....with some lenses that compete with the sigmas for the e mount for example....there are some things that have to be considered even when just comparing 1080p......

    thanks for the video. I am in the process of buying a Sony A6400. Moving on from a Cannon 700d, my 1st real camera after using camcorders the Sony 405 was the last. I enjoyed the 700d learned to shoot manual, raw, long exposure using Bulb but as a camera it is now out of date. originally I wanted a cannon 5d mark 3 as prices for them are so low but filming focus bad and no 4k. I then started doing some research and this Sony hits all the buttons. I pannier tour with my bike so lugging a 700d and a 135 wide angled lens is a bit heavy which got me on to thinking mirrorless. I originally thought cannon and researched the M50 but cropped 4k not good, then the60 mark 2 but no 24fps in 4k and 24fps is my religion then I saw this and a lot of the reviews are so good about it. It will be a serious improvement on the 700d shoots manual, raw and bulb but really looking forward to the autofocus its build quality looks good as well as the 700d has been flung in panniers all its life and never flinched I will be a bit more gentle with this but it is just such a stunning camera at a great price

      You could use the 10-18 super wide angle that will get you a bit smoother footage. If you truely want smooth footage not using a gimbal walking a camera, you would need an external gyro like the steadXP+.
