A huge game changer for me was having a rule that I won't touch my phone until my morning routine is done. I would get up every morning, check my emails, find something on RUclips and not only waste an hour; but I also noticed that my focus was completely zapped after that. It truly was life changing to put the phone away until I was done with my routine. Another one is to walk after every meal. If you wear a continuous glucose monitor (severe health geek here) you will see how much your post meal blood sugar spikes go down once you walk. And it keeps the muffin top at bay :)
i used to go right outside in the morning, barefeet on the lawn and stand toward the sun with my eyes closed and meditate simply by listening to all the sounds and not letting myself run away with internal talk or thoughts. and see how long i could just stay in the moment. it was so peaceful
1. Have a night before routine 2. Working out regularly 3. Eat 4. Learn more stuff 5. Get dressed 6. Leave the house sometimes 7. Budget for guilt-free spending 8. Charge your phone away from your bed
love this!! I bought a Kindle to read in bed to stop my late-night scrolling. I can read in the dark beside my snoozing partner, and there are no notifications or temptation to check socials. It's a simple thing that has had great impact!!
I looked at my bank statement and was pretty surprised at how much I spend on take out. I made a change and cook almost all my meals now. Maybe one or two in a month will be takeout, sometimes none. My bank statement has improved, and I’ve lost 40 lbs in 5 months. Win!Win!
These were great tips! I’ve been doing my personal ToDo list. It works for me at my office so I decided to implant it in my life because I forget a lot these days. I’m also staying on a meal prep routine, laundry day routine, clean my home day routine and my car! Specific days and times and I take a 15 minute break and I time myself for each task. I stop and continue a next day when my time is up.
An absolute game changer for me is following a before bed and morning skin care routine, started a month ago and it brings me joy even after a rough day
Leave the house! Yes, that’s a big one for me. Working from home makes it easy for me to hide from the world. And over time it gets harder to get out and engage with people.
My biggest tasks that keep our home in order is to make sure that the dishes are all washed before going to bed and then first thing in the morning putting away the dishes from the night before. Another task is to do one load of laundry a day. So after morning stretching and exercising, and my morning shower, I will throw in a load of laundry and when I’m making my lunch and eating breakfast etc. the clothes are in the dryer and then, they’re hung up. Done! Those tasks keep our whole house operating efficiently. Personally, I made a vow to listen to certain podcasts every morning while I’m doing my daily sketching in my sketchbook. That’s quiet time, and prayer time and tasks toward building my skills. After that the rest of the day is work, and everything that gets thrown my way. I’m ready for it.
I love the calmness in your voice and thank God no loud music in the background. Some people though a friend of mine don't have " guilt free money" and she really resents me for it so much so we barely see each other anymore. Any thoughts on this problem?
These tips were so simple, but so impactful … I’ve been doing some of these last as well, but really need the nudge on some of the others. I also love that you addressed guilt and shame in this video. Thanks for giving us feel good Sunday content - enjoy the rest of your weekend!! ❤
To-do lists and my planner (and phone calendar) are seriously life changing!! I feel so organized and less stressed/anxious seeing all my appointments and plans. I would definitely like to workout more - I like yin yoga, lifting weights, and walking. I just need motivation ugh
I definitely need to try the phone placement, night time routine, and budgeting guilt free money. One habit I do is 5 min journaling in the morning to set my thoughts straight!
Glad to hear you're back in the gym! I find that working out at home doesn't work. It's too easy to find an excuse to not do it. But if you have an appointment booked with the gym, you're gonna go!
I am not really into the topic that you are talking about actually, but i really enjoy the way you are talking, especially your voice and intonation.... Hope your channel grows bigger😊
Rice/grain cooker - Oyama makes an all stainless steel rice/grain cooker (stainless steel inner pot and lid liner) with clamp down lid soit will cook harder grains (besides rice). Note it does not have an off switch, when you plug it in it reverts to the warming temp (so unplug after using it). Very affordable. Note - don't necessarily buy the largest one - think about how much you will actually eat in two to three days. I bought a 7 cup and have downsized to a 5 cup.
I really need to start leaving the house. It's a struggle for me to even get dressed on my days off. Im such a homebody. Im a nurse and I am literally spent after my 3 12 hour shifts. But, sitting around in my pajamas only makes me more unproductive.
Another thing on eating, switching to whole grains or at least partial whole grains makes a big difference. I cook grains 2 parts water to 1 part grains. Steel cut oats (cook 2 cups water to one cup oats makes them not mushy or slimey) make both a great side dish as well as a breakfast dish. Brown rice, I really prefer brown basmati. Quinoa must be rinsed thoroughly several times before cooking so it is not bitter. Whole wheat & rye grains ("groats") are a great carb dish (somewhere it says eating them together is better somehow) - not rye does not taste like rye bread (the taste of rye bread is the salt and the caraway seeds) rye groats just taste like a neutral grain. Buckwheat - there is toasted and untoasted, a VERY healthy grain. Whole grain pasta is widely available.
Honey, i tried the last one many times, i end up getting up, getting my phone, hit the snooze button and go back to bed 😂😂😂 how do you guys do it 😂 i just loooooove sleeping,it's a struggle
Love the video! Much needed. Love the podcast! Will you ladies ever consider making it a video like a zoom podcast or something like that in the near future? I would love to see you all talking. I will feel like I'm there with you. 🙂
The last 30 to 60 minutes done before sleep is really critical for a good night sleep. Whatever is done in that last 30 to 60 minutes will carry into your sleep. If a person is doing a to do list or watching gloomy news, that will carry into sleep. It is wise to to this earlier when the mind is alert and not so close to sleep. It is wise to turn the lights down for the brain to be reminded to impending sleep.. The thing to do is to set yourself up with an important ( but not do or die) question. What should I do about life/situaltion/ or choice? It will come into sleep with you. Your subconscious will think about it. I personally watch reruns of I Love Lucy with a timer on my TV or just contemplate life.
I fall asleep listening to adult bed time stories on head space so I need my phone on my night stand to hear it. That’s the one I can’t seem to adjust in my habits. 😏
I enjoy getting some sun and having bare feet on the earth,, grounding for up to a half hour. Wonderful ideas for feeling good. 🙌🏼🫶🏼 I’m snickering over the coffee habit but am always sleepy, as well as enjoying the peace at night before bed, looking forward to fulfill the binging on a disaster movie. 😳🫣😬😵💫 Doesn’t help! Lol😅

I loveeeee that!
That’s a keeper! Thanks.
I bought a very basic Kindle for that reason and it helps so much.
