Thank you! Been years since I heard this!
I was born in 1954.My Grandma sang this to my brothers and I.This has a few more words than when Grandma sung it to us.
I was born in 1939. My Mom used to sing this to me, when I was a little guy. So good to hear the verses in addition to the refrain.
HAHAHA , her emotional delivery is so funny and great! I love this song and I think the performance is soo historic and beauitful!
Originally wrote in 1894!! I’m 50 years old, and I learned this song from my great-grandmother. She was born in 1897. The turn of the century. My own son was born at the turn of the *next* century; 1997, one hundred years later.
I ADORE this song! My Granny Kate used to sing it to me all the time♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡
So beautifully done, voice and music.
Delightfully vintage 1890's... longgloved and fullthroatedly warbled, to mellowly tuned piano accompaniment.
Anyone who is from Long Island knows the Cathedral and Garden City are ON Long Island, not In it! Other wise a great memory. My mom used to sing this to me.
"Reds" (1981), of course, sung by Diane Keaton herself!
Dreadful audio/ video. Would like to hear a quality version of this.
