Rosie O'Donnell thought Sutton Foster was going to get a Tony for her performance in Thoroughly Modern Millie. Not only did Sutton get nominated, but she won it. The exact same thing happened with Kristen. I'm convinced Rosie O'Donnell is a wizard.

I remember watching this live, it’s when I fell in love with Kristin Chenowith! (My name is ALSO Kristen, spelled differently, BUT we have the same birthday July 24th!🎉) she will forever be my Galinda! Thanks for sharing this, it’s like I’m watching tv after school before I have to start homework.

"She's gonna be a HUGE HUGE HUGE HUGE HUGE star, not only on Broadway, movies and everything!"
...So I guess we have Rosie O'Donnell to thank for manifesting Kristin Chenoweth's entire career twenty years later?

For the record, Kristin was actually 31 on this show. Also be aware that the part of Sally was written specifically for Kristin. In the original off Broadway version, the second female was Peppermint Patty. Gary Burghoff was the original Charlie Brown.

one correction, it was not peppermint patty, but instead patty from the 1950-60s comics. the original special was made before sally became popular. (no pun intended) :)

@@devilh0rnsinc Thanks for the correction. I'd forgotten that there was an older Patty and assumed the two were the same. Been a while since I've seen any of the really old comics.

it's so interesting how different her Tony performance is! She's so bubbly in that performance and more abrupt in this! even her voice sounds different!

I took a 'The History of Broadway' course/class as an elective back in college -
(I was a Comm and Media major with a concentration in TV Production, with a minor in film, so I said what the hell why not, the class could be useful and fun. Which it was considering my professor was overly charismatic and flamboyant)
and I AM PISSED THIS PLAY WASN'T MENTIONED IN CLASS!
