Until this very day I still think that My Damnation has some of the best stuff of CG, especially with the old line up. The new stuff is killer though even if it's an entirely new band with different members and Tom Barber is really the best replacement they could've found for Alex. He really stepped up the game of the entire sound.
A small criticism is that the riff behind the leads in the chorus of Don't Ask Don't Tell isn't played 8 0 3 5th chords. They're these big chords over 5 strings and it's 8 0 15 and the way the bass is mixed makes it sound like a 3.
I think Don't Ask Don't Tell era CG was such a missed opportunity. It's so distinct out of all of their catalog and a Deathcore direction with heavy vocals and drumming but with those sorts of instrumentals would be a SPLENDED idea

That schecter example has about $3k worth of features in it, and it’s only the price it is because it’s manufactured in South Korea. It plays just as well as my Kiesel and Mayones guitars and it actually has more value. Stop being a pretentious douche bag, it’s clear your collection isn’t very large if you’re putting stuff like this on a pedestal. It’s a trend. I love the look of these guitars and I will likely buy one, and it will neither play, nor sound better, than any of the other guitars I have in the “”premium”” range. That schecter example is less than half the price of an aristides and I pick it up more than I pick up my overpriced Mayones... and I fucking love my overpriced Mayones.

It's crazy how much you can tell when their current guitar player came in. Everything becomes less stale and more creative from a songwriting standpoint.
MAAAN I miss Michael Stafford so much. Michael on lead guitar and Alex on vocals WAS Chelsea Grin. It isn't the same band without those two. My Damnation is a masterpiece of a record, front to back. Incredible vocals I have never heard anyone replicate, not even Alex, and absolutely *amazing* guitar playing from Michael.
