a Speciale is a lightweight track car with 600hp, the GTS is a 330hp convertible, anyone who dares to race with that thing in the GTS has a wild animal heart.
WhiteLion2013 fast driving does not have to involve sideways and etc.... this guy is pushing that machine hard to keep up with the 458. the driving you are talking about most of the time is slower that smooth fast driving like the one on that video.
+WhiteLion2013 It's not a 911 it's a Boxster GTS with normal Pzero tires, only 330hp vs 600+ Speciale track weapon with sticky rubber. You need to research a little more before you post something. Greets.
New to your stuff. Amazing! You're a skilled driver. Usually speed doesn't translate well to video; not here, lol! It's great to see these machines being driven as they were meant to be. I'm shipping my car to Germany next summer, and it would be great to visit the 'Ring, never been there before. Any pointers?
+/ /.Don't take it wrong but i don t think it is Porsche fault at 1:50 ;). the car became unstable because you did not come really straight on the bump, and you turned a little bit the steering wheels while the tires were unballasted to put the car straight back. So after the bump, when the weight came back on the tires and thus the grip, trouble started because your tires were not pointing in the same direction than before the jump. but good lap otherwise
+nico2006t Hi Nico, thanks for the input. You're absolutely right. My steering wasn't completely straight when I went airborne but the kink down to the right in the bump got worse over the year. Normally I could take this flat out and there was no launch. It wasn't this bad in the beginning of the year. They are doing some road works on the ring now to get rid of some small dimps but I don't think they are fixing this one. Next time I'm going to lift of a little before coming to the crest :). Cheers.
+/ /. no they are fixing the bump where the nissan gt3 airborne into spectator. But make me feel bad ;( i would prefer that the ring stay as it is ;( And for the little jump you got trouble , even if you airborne a little bit it is not a problem as long as you come straight and keep the steering wheel in straight position but of course i know you know that coz you drive pretty good! . Try something next year if you want to continue flat out on that bump, try to go closer to the right white line before the jump, and your car will be stable.Normally you almost have to be on the white line lol , but 10 cm should be good. I took it at 240 with my mini gp and no problem , also 250 in gt4 bu of course there is a bit of downforce ;) check my vid and if you have and tip to give me, it is welcome. Cheers
+nico2006t Bonjour Nico, funny because I have seen your video's before with the GT4. Nice driving too. I'm waiting for my GT4 also. Not long anymore, for sure we will meet 1 day at the ring! Send me a PM when you are planning to go in the spring. Salut.
I've seen this and your GT4 video where you keep up with the green Lambo - both are amazing! I drive a Cayman and love it, but it's low on HP and I hope one day to get a GT4 (like Nico says below, a Cayman GT4 is my dream car). I noticed that the Ferrari 458 was able to take off on you for a bit even despite the greater traffic, whereas the Lambo couldn't. Was the Ferrari driver just that much better than the Lambo driver, is the 458 faster or otherwise just that much better than the Lambo, or is the GT4 just that much better than the Boxster GTS? I kind of think it's a bit of all three, but you would be the authority on that so I look forward to hearing what you have to say. Thanks for posting these amazing, inspiring videos and thanks in advance for your thoughts on my question above.
God damn watched a lot of your videos, every one is astonishing how quick and smooth you are, where did you learn to drive so well, and do you have any tips or pointers for a new track driver?
+mkelebay Hi, thanks! Learned by myself really. Just passionate about it and did it step by step from the moment I got my first car which was an amazing Renault Clio :) This was about 12 years ago. I started going to track the moment I had my first fast car and this is only 4 years ago but the moment you to the track you get addicted fast. Only advice I can give is: drive max. about 80% at your limit when you are racing for a hobby. Try to steer as less as possible and be smooth, imagine driving with a cup of water and you don't want to spill it. Always brake hard in a straight line and don't get on the power too soon. Never go into a corner too fast, that's the biggest mistake to crashing. Depends on the car but do not turn off the car stability control all the way. No reason to be a hero, if it intervenes you are pushing too much anyway so better that it catches you. Lastly, always cool the car down enough!! Drive an OUT lap around the track/area with as less braking as possible but fast enough to cool the brakes. Do not put the handbrake on when stopping. Put it in gear or neutral so the brakes don't stick to the caliper. Hope this helps! Enjoy and be smooth & safe! Greets
Nice Video and nice driving! As I own the same car, let me ask you how did you mount the cam? Its the perfect place but I havent found a good way to keep the cam there. Thank you!
I think it is better to let the suspension stay on "soft" because Nordschleife is a track with just up and down. You faster lose tracktion with the suspension on hard
PDK is perfect when learning the track and you need to stay focused. Boxster's and Cayman's alway punch above their weight. Oh and their is no substitute for a good driver on the wheel.
nice, but its so ridiculous to see that he is not shifting by himself. not even with the paddles! whats next? a car that brakes by itself depending on GPS?!
+000GunterGabriel000 Some late model sports cars already shift using GPS I think. Basically they store and detect routes using GPS and learn the ideal shifting points as you drive the route again. I can't remember exactly where I read this, but I think it was in the owners manual of our Mini Cooper S 2014. Not a dual clutch gearbox but allegedly capable of 'learning' in this way.
Next time get it out of auto and take control of your gear changes. Seeing the car change gear mid-corner gives me the fear! the last thing you want a car doing is changing gear mid-corner.
I had to say it a lot before and I'll repeat it again. If you know the PDK you wouldn't have put this comment. The PDK is in Manual (see the stick is to the left where it's says M?) But with all Porsche non-GT cars it upshifts automatically at full throttle at the ideal MAX. point in the redline. No point at all to upshift yourself unless you don't want to go to 100% max redline. You do need to shift down yourself as I do with the left paddle behind the wheel all the time. But the moment when you need to upshift you are mostly going full-throttle so the PDK does that for you. You have to drive it like it was engineered. But don't worry, I drive a GT4 now with a manual ;) Cheers.
/ /. I'll forgive you :) I saw you take your hand off the right hand side of the wheel, and it changed up, so assumed it was in full auto. My only experience is with the new Boxter Spyder which is full manual, haven't used the PDK myself. Same as most VAG DSG boxes though, they force the upshift on hitting peak useful revs.

Totally

Its not a 911, moron!!!
domanda dove era la speciale? Io al min 5 non la vedevo piu'.
The video really shows how smart PDK is in sport plus. What an incredible transmission.
Haha, that Clio... Driver was like, watch me, Im good :D
This is why I drive a Cayman S 😀
Ok I’m not rich is another reason but this proves that Porsche Boxsters/ caymans hit above their weight 🥊
that PDK is doing an AWESOME job of shifting gears like a pro. really smart, especially the downshifts, always keeping the engine in the power band
+dimos k Was thinking the same. I had to look twice and check the driver is not shifting. Genuinely impressive.
1:50 WOW
Indeed. Almost :/
+seboufdu59 if you see, his wheel was a little to the wrong side of the track!
+/ /. Did you have ESP on? Car needs more downforce ;)
+seboufdu59 Nice frame, nice suspensions....
I've seen a few cars go light at this point and then re-grip on landing, sending the car off in to the barriers.
1:50 holy shit
mine too!! That was one of those moments
Oh man that jump was scary. I'd need a few minutes to recompose before continuing balls to the walls again. You got big kahones sir. Power to you.
+Adam Alistair 1:50 in case someone wants to know what you mean, a jump at 245 kmh...
clio driver got a dirty look
A *well deserved* dirty look.
Damn that is some serious driving !
New to your stuff. Amazing! You're a skilled driver. Usually speed doesn't translate well to video; not here, lol! It's great to see these machines being driven as they were meant to be. Did you replace the Boxster for a GT4? If so great choice!
You were lucky on schwedenkreuz always keep your steeringwheel straight over the crest, or sh*t can go wrong big time! Great drive!
amazing driving again
+MrThomas Bird Thanks! The 458 Speciale is such a great car!
Are you driving in Auto ?! That is mindblowing !!
1:50 the Porsche killer bump strikes again
Almost had me indeed :/

I didn't know the PDK can shift like that. Impressive!
i discovered the PDK last year. A marvel. I was a manual worshiper til then

Very good skill driver ^ ^
Great driving man.....
Nice Video and nice driving! As I own the same car, let me ask you how did you mount the cam? Its the perfect place but I havent found a good way to keep the cam there. Thank you!
I want to buy this car so bad as a first sportscar i think it can do everything well.
Only problem is finding a good one without hidden problems
Is there a reason you chose an auto? Enjoyed your driving. If you were driving the Ferrari do you think you would have been Quicker?
Did you use the paddle shift at all? What difference does it make putting the shift lever on "M" position? Does it downshifts more aggressively? Thanx
Geez that PDK is insane
+William Roff shame it was used in "auto" the whole time.
6:00 that Turbo can put your boxter to a test. :D
LOL at that check on the Clio
Great view. Hardly a match of two excellent sports cars. Make my Cayman S in Stone Grey metallic (LY7U)
The guy pushing the GT4 beyond safe parameters in pursuit of a single yellow pixel ... was that pixel the 458 Speciale?
it is a gts
0:31 no hand shifted the gear and the car just up shift :0 it was in manual mode and sport plus, what happened!
I think it is better to let the suspension stay on "soft" because Nordschleife is a track with just up and down. You faster lose tracktion with the suspension on hard
7:54 ahahahahhsdhsaf lol renault man
Go home Renault, your drunk.
+Leopard95 Still 25 sec per lap faster than a Boxter GTS.
+derbigpr500 keep dreaming
derbigpr500 keep dreaming!
i love porsche but this just a case of a better driver in a lesser car
PDK is perfect when learning the track and you need to stay focused. Boxster's and Cayman's alway punch above their weight. Oh and their is no substitute for a good driver on the wheel.
4:02
Bye bye Porsche...
completely automatic gearbox config... should have written that on the description to be fair xD
i need to see you drive here a Turbo S or a GT3 RS, and i need you to comment on this...
good drive. well done.
No bullshit-just driving 👍
F E R R A R I ❤❤❤
Fun times!
Actually the title should be like :
Porsche 981 Boxter GTS - STRUNGGLES - to keep up with Ferrari and e.t.c
luces de cruce?
Very good Clio.Sheet Porsche.Ferrari is the best.
nice, but its so ridiculous to see that he is not shifting by himself. not even with the paddles! whats next? a car that brakes by itself depending on GPS?!

1- el ferrari se le fue a la mierda jaja2- el vidrio está astillado no?3- me gustó el interior
7:53 look of doom lol
Haha I was looking for someone to comment on this. Totally deserved stare though.

It's Wrong! Don't Ferrari, but MonsterRRARI
Man you are good!
Fucking love this
Annoying indicator usage.
U can't catch it up! Oh gosh
After 2 min I realized u don't have any chance with this car in front of Ferrari
anyway nice try even was in vain 👌
schalte mal selber omg
