- In this video we take a look at another Leo jayms telecaster except this time I bought this one myself. It was $109 delivered to my house with a gig bag a cable and some tools. As far as good cheap guitars go this one’s at the top of the list for me. Now I really appreciate you watching. If you’re interested in this guitar, here’s a link along with some of the tools you’ve seen me using on the channel.

I love the idea of fixing up your own cheap guitar to become more than it was ever intended!
I don't want to see the channel be all about cheap guitars.
I think the low buck guitars are great to learn guitar maintenance, modification and repair.
Basically they're all pretty much the same, or at least close in quality and price regardless of the brand name.
I enjoy the repair videos the most and then the builds.
Hey Sean ,,, new sub and player here.. Been kinda binging on your vids for a cpl days now . Really enjoying how you come across , no BS ... So , for whatever it's worth to ya ,,, I think a combo of the two would be a good mix .... I enjoy seeing what can be done on / to a low budget guitar (especially in these tight times) , but I also enjoy the building aspect as well .... I think they can work hand in hand to some degree .... I think your approach and style lends itself to both new (me) and experienced players alike ... Looking forward to the next one . All the best to you and yours , and take care, brother,,,,,
no, I think you know a whole lot of what you’re doing. You are an amazing, hands-on technician and that’s why I always watch your channel. We are technician’s
👍👍🇺🇸🇺🇸💯💪
FINALLY A GUITAREST THAT IS A HONEST AND NORMAL DOWN TO EARTH REGULAR GUY,THAT AINT AFRAID TO SPEAK HIS MIND . FINALLY!! GOOD JOB ,WELL DONE.
I'd be very interested in watching you build guitars, especially if you have any tricks/tips to make it easier for first time builders.
Will do!
I’ve been thinking about giving one of these foreigners a shot and wondering what to expect… thanks for sharing your experience and knowledge. Be well be strong and Rage on!
I like variety. I like to see you rebuild used guitars, upgrade cheap guitars, and make custom guitars from scratch. Tell it like it is and do what you want to do. At some point your subscribers will jump up.
I'm in Texas and it's 100 degrees every day right now. It's hot and humid. I can only imagine the humidity in FL. The shop will still be there when it cools off. Make some pickups, and do some setups on cheap guitars and see how they sound.
Also I enjoy all your videos It doesn't matter what you're doing I love to see what you do to make them old guitars play and to make the new cheezo guitars play
Cool, thanks!
My wife got me one with the flag on it. Im a Vet and she knows how i feel about our Nations Flag. It was last Sep. But it is a strat stlye. Ive played it for a year now and i have to say i like it. Im thinking about getting the Les Paul from Leo.
The LP I received from Leo Jaymz was all set up, packed safely, and played really great right outta the box. I hope you have a good experience like I did with my LP guitar.
I love watching videos of trying out cheap guitars, and if necessary. Making them better
I like all the stuff you're doing. Demos on cheap guitars, showing what's good and bad, fixing guitars and setting them up is all great. I like it when you build guitars too, so Shaun, keep up the good work and we will keep watching ( I want to say tuning in, but that dates me lol).
Recently just got a Leo Jaymz Les Paul knock off from Amazon for $180 (figured I'd use it as a tinker / project guitar)... It showed up with AlnicoV Humbuckers and Grover tuners stock. The fret work was impeccable. Nicest polished frets and beautifully rounded fret ends I've ever seen on any guitar less than $2k. All 4 pots feel solid and have no "scratches" or static in them. Guitar is nice and heavy with mahogany everything (rosewood fingerboard). I figured when I bought it that it would need a lot of work, but no. I just changed out the strings and adjusted the action a bit (and adjusted the intonation in it since I changed sting gauges) and it's pretty darn solid. Paint job was nice, no excess glue or noticeable issues.
I don't know if they all come that way, but if not? I sure got lucky. My ONLY complaint on it, is aesthetic. I'm not a fan of the giant square mother or pearl inlays (though nicely done), I prefer the smaller dots. But for less than $200? Amazing work....
I'm new to your channel. I like what I've watched so far. Thinking about building a guitar from a kit platform. What I would like to find is a Les Paul style 12 string. I need a electric 12 to go with my Seagull S-12 acoustic, just to change things up a bit. I subscribed and turned on the notifications. Let's see if I get notified. LubeTube doesn't notify me at all for the 2A channels I watch. America First !
I'm live in 15 mins come hang!
Please keep doing cheapo guitars, brother. I learn a lot from you. All hail Godzilla!
I like your box opener! I like your reviews of inexpensive guitars, but I enjoy your building much more. You’ve got some pretty ones lined up for review. And I’m excited to hear some kits will be available again. We’ve had 28 days of temps in the 100s - weatherman says we will break the record of consecutive days in the 100s by August 18.
I like all your videos. A mix of builds and reviewing cheap guitars of good for me. I think the most important info for budget strapped players like me, is how do you take a so-so guitar and make it great. And yeah, I can't wait for the t-shirts! I'll be there at 10pm!
You're my favorite cheap guitar reviewer 😀 $109 delivered is insane Looking forward to that Mitchell review
Great video Sean. Man I gotta tell ya, I like all these videos! I like the reviews,
AND I like the builds! I mean, that's why I subscribed! You always keep it real.
That's rare in this day & age, with a lot of things Sean! Everything video-wise
you got coming up looks very cool? And as long as you stay true to whatever
you think is good content Sean, then you can't go wrong! At least that's what
I think? So keep on keeping' on. I always appreciate the no nonsense of your
videos!
Hi Shaun I really like to watch tou build guitars than demo cheap guitars, but demoing and commenting on what is wrong, and what is right with cheap guitars, is a very appreciated by viewers and is a great service to the guitar viewing folks. I enjoy them both, but much rather watch you buildin. Thanks for the videos.g and repairing them.
Hell yeah I subscribed. Love the content, especially making cheap crap play and sound good ... and doing repairs on Pawn Shop finds. If I had to vote, I'd say do 40% new builds, 60% everything else. And could you do some good old Merle Haggard stuff on the Fenders? You know ... good music!
Awesome thank you!
Hi ya Shawn, thanks for being you. Also, I wish all young men could see how a real man with Integrity and respect actually is supposed to be!
You are the appitimy of the perfect adult man for our transitioning young men to become!
Respect and dignity! 👏 ✌️♥️😎
You da man bro!
$109-and you said it's still a mahogany body? Damn.
I just spent almost that much on a pickguard & a set of locking tuners!
BTW, watching your videos has inspired me to fix up my ol' Squire Affinity Strat that's been sitting here without strings for about 4 years.
New loaded SSH pickguard (was 3xS), locking tuners, and maybe a set of straplocks too!
I'm going whole pig - even changing the color from plain black to something that'll pop. I'm not decided on the final color yet, but whatever it takes to make it look good with that pearly pickguard and tuners...
Used your love links to the amzn store. Don't know if you do that affiliate thing, but if you do, there ya go.
Edit: Watched your live stream tonight. Too bad about that 2nd winding job, but if it was easy everybody would be doing it. I'll be working tomorrow, but I'll definitely catch up in the evening. Best of luck, and keep on strummin'.
I would like to see both crappy guitars fixed up and new builds. The more I see you use the cnc, the more I want one! Same with all your tools. But it's nice watching you get a piece of total crap and make it right without alot of money too. I liked the giveaway you did last year at the music store with that young girl. That was awesome too. Keep it up man! I'm going to go back to the live Saturday stream and see if you finally got that pickup right...
Go go Godzilla! Most enjoyable guitar channel by far in my opinion. And I ain’t no tenderoni.
glad to see ya got your second wind with the channel and things are looking up! nice to see ya out of the doldrums and reinvigorated ya got something here to important to lose here's to the next 23.9k subs
I got one each of the Leo Jaymz American Flag Tele style and SG style guitars last month, and I am truly impressed for the money. I mainly bought them as wall decorations, but I like playing them enough to invest in some upgrades on the Tele style for now. Getting ready to have a bone nut made, new switch/pots/jack, and some Tonerider pickups installed in it. Will likely upgrade the SG style one at some point as well. Very pleasantly surprised by these guitars and that's coming from someone who has a lot of other guitars costing 3 to 20 times what this one cost.
I've been pretty impressed with the stuff coming from Leo Jaymes
you keep making video's and i will watch, wether you build stuff or review a cheap guitar, love this content!
I appreciate that!
Love your dry comedy and selection of subjects. Looks cool.. neat guitar
As long as the neck and body match up and it can be intonated proper, that's good little gitfiddle. Just swap out the electronics, hardware and get rid of that crap bridge and you'll be off to the races. Even with swapping out all that gear, you're still going to be several hundred bucks ahead of the "big" brands.
Cheers!
Great point!
💯
I love both contents of building and the reviews.
Cool chameleon. I used to have a female veiled chameleon. She was very tame and loving. Her name was Karma like the Culture Club song
I like both cheap guitar reviews, and building guitars.
I've been doing research on Mexican made Fender Telecasters and learned some interesting things. In Mexico 1 out of 5 people play guitar and some of the MM guitars are most likely built by guitar players. As far as MM made Fenders go, a few upgrades and you most likely will have a really decent guitar 🎸.
I'm Canadian but I can appreciate the look for sure and I believe all of these guitars need some shape or form of work when you 1st get them
Always enjoy the videos either way. Thanks.
I love the finish!
✌👍🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Love ya Sean!
If that Mitchell is made in Vietnam then it's made by IYV. I bet it's a really good guitar.
I bought an IYV neck through model for about 200 bucks and it is way better than I expected. Only changed the tuners and it plays and sounds great.
@@chrisshaw2754 They are very good for the money, I own 3
I'm so glad you haven't given up on your channel. Looking forward to tonight and I'm setting a reminder right now. What can be done to a scarf joint to prevent a future break?
Godzilla is cool! And so is your Channel! I really like your videos.
Has a nice warm sound!
I just shipped a Leo Jayms Tempest back. The bridge was not mounted correctly so all the strings were shifted to the octive side. The high E was almost off the freatboard and the low E was where the A should be. Other than that it was pretty good for $200.
I like cheap guitars being fixed up!
Howdy sir. David here. Appreciate your vids. For me, re: this guitar... QC must've slid downhill a bit, as, the 1st one I ordered had zero truss rod adjustment. Then, had to send the 2nd one back due to a bad bow in the neck, &, the saddle screws would work themselves out after about the 10th open strum.
I'd be good w/a blue model, like, I blv, the first model you got, hanging up to the right, on your wall. But, as I blv you shared, ol'Leo's doesn't seem to be making those anymore; or at least, I'm not finding them on Amazon.
Thots on the Eart, &/or, SLICK SL50 or 51 Tele models ?
Anywho... again, appreciate your vids. Peace !
I’m late to the party, but thank you brother. Question: I love the Old Glory Tele, but is it worth it? I do my own work on my guitars so if you say so I’ll let it rip. 🇺🇸🎸
Dear Sean all I can say is I love your channel.
Good content Bro. Love the finish on the Leo Jamze Tele, they have a Strat same finish also yay, but no lefties boo 😡
Build/modify and demo. It’s all good. BTW I was in VN first six months of 68’. Never thought anything good would’ve come from there. First day back in the states was the happiest day of my life.. so bang on the guitar with the flag and play some CCR fortunate son 😂
Thanks bro. Are they mid-jumbo frets on the USA tele ? 😃
Keep majority of videos building guitars and just sprinkle in some of the cheap guitar reviews - just my 2 cents since asked - either way you rock keep it up
I just got in the mail today some Fleor loaded pick guards with hot rails Al Nico pickups in them for $32 they sent me an offer after I bought a empty pick guard so I snatched up two the tortoiseshell cost me $34 but heck they came in like 3 days or less and look great I'll be sticking one in this evening and I will be joining the live hopefully I can get in on the first part of it if I don't lose what time it is...😅
I got the same one gonna show it in the chat tonight!
They have a British one for $109 too
Both types of videos are good keep making them both and T-shirts without mustard stains would be cool
What picjups did you use to replace the stock ones?
I like what ya doing man...if it aint broke and all. I'm waiting for some little Asian bloke to steal your format , he'll call it UN-SCAR my guitar where he gets high end axe's and turns 'em into complete shit box's. LOL hell who am I kidding...I'd watch that to. All the best from Australia.
I enjoy your videos on building guitars, even the guitars from parts from Amazon.
I enjoyed this video. I had considered buying that same model for my son.
Can’t wait t-shirt come out 😊
Pretty guitar Mitchell les paul and cool stuff Sean!
How about they just scrap the clear pickguard altogether.
Build, demo, I'm watching everything. Just keep making videos!
Never met him and dont want to. Love the videos sir. Take care.
Hey shaun I truly Love to watch your show .and i want that Guitar 🇺🇸💯🇺🇸💯🇺🇸💯💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💞💞
great sound mate
Great example of the difference,
The cheap guitar reviews get me to click on the channel, but honestly, I’d prefer to see how you build guitars and make repairs.
Oh no Godzilla hey hey. Love that song it gets my blood pumping.
I don't think I see any other You Tuber open pacakages with a Bowie Knife.
I'll take it if you don't want it for my collection live in Canada p.e.i I live at 90 Sidney street charlottetown p.e.i c1a1g3 your one of my favorite RUclipsrs I like how you do different things caught that acoustic build you didn't a great job brother and your mod videos are awesome you should be alot more recognized on this platform look forward to new videos buddy and I wouldn't touch your guitar if I didn't ask brother have a great one hopefully I hear from ya or new video 👍
You could even send it postage due
I don't know if you saw my last message sent it had to do with different build it your self company's and the potential to make 100's of videos by doing what you doing best making them better with upgrades painting them make inlay designs with them and finishing them maybe even auction them off for charity's just a thought for more of Sean or Shawn 's scar my guitar 🎸
I'd like to see build guitar videos.
Cool channel. Cheers!
Show how to make it string thru
I Believe you should Do the American flag on your Shirts with scar Guitafading into center of the flag spreading out that an image of what I see which is cool Dont ask me how it just shows up in my vision and believe i Know it's gonna be a big seller
+1 on you actually building guitars instead of just demoing cheap guitars and making them playable. Although I understand it probably does pay more for the bills and bring in the new subs.
lets build guitars with the occasional cheap guitar video thrown in!
I'm digging you doing a variety of stuff, don't fix it.
Wayne Kramer might want that American flag guitar.
Ive got a squire strat...sure could trade fer a tele...just more my style...
Damn I have to work tonight. Otherwise I would be watching
Building is definitely better!!
Another Good video buddy. Godzilla Rocks too. We all don't wanna be touched at times 😂😂. Peace ✌️✌️👍🎸🎸💯
Hell, yeah!!! I like it. Screw politics, I'm always good with an American flag on anything...but I'm here for all these guitar projects and a giveaway..I enjoy all your vids!!
I also have the USA flag Stedman Pro LP.
I bought the union jack tele, was a horror show. very disappointed
Sean gettin' all the guitars, cheap, used, and of course SCARRED. Wifey takin' care of ya, keepin' ya on task & Godzilla nipping at your heels, lets SCAR things up big! Let the builds and kits begin!!
(But I do dig the cheap stuff too. Kind of a guilty pleasure 😂😂😂)
cheapo guitar reviews might be good for beginners, but otherwise they are all kind of the same. Personally I already have a few nice guitars so I am more interested in the builds. That being said, in terms of cost , the comparison is important as building a kit is the same price
Cool, thanks!
Tonight at 10? Sorry, I'll pass. The Perseid Meteor shower is supposed to reach a peak tonight, so I'll be watching that instead. I'll bet it sounds real good after a little bit of work, though. 👍
🤘🔥🔥🤘
On no there goes Tokyo😊
I Have a Mitchell UKE from Guitar Center I Wonder if I could Get it SCARED ? and Maybe a Pick Up put in it ?
Try and get yourself a Mini Split Air Conditioner for your garage. The higher the Seer rating the more efficient they are and cheaper to power which is cheap these days.
Oh, this is the American flag one. Sorry, mistook it for the British one. Oops. I'm still fascinated by the Tele style
Godzilla color be awesome on a guitar
I love Godzilla.
Me too lol!
Beauty for the price
I'd keep those guitars in Fort Nox.
Both demo build demo the ones you build.😮 and demo other geetars if they low budget. Not cheap. Just low budget.
Quit messin' around with them cheap Chinese guitars and let's see some unique, one-of-a-kind Scar My Guitars built right here in the US of A!
GO GO GODZILLA
looks like they boosted it up $20
