The last I check Sean the 10.4 means the impedance of the pickup is hot. I used to work at the guitar center years ago. Working there was ass but the master luthier there was an amazing dude mike, he showed a few things. From I built my own les paul model copy. Hope that helps.

When I started playing guitar I was told don't even look at the trust rod! Don't even try to set the intonation! I'm 65 and I've been playing guitar forever. The guitars I have now I have had for 40 years; never touched any of them... With you Sean, I learn to level my frets and set up my guitars and boy where they way out. thank you! For teaching me you guys are great

I've only been in the guitar world for about 7 months. I have to say I came across your channel and started watching. Ive gone back and watched every post you have done. Great job. I have learned more from you than any other person on RUclips. I can now set my own guitars up. From string changes, intonation to fret work. My buddies are asking me to do theirs. I just wanted to say I really enjoy watching you and Kathy. Please keep the great videos coming. Thank you for all your videos.

I had two good laughs from this and I'm not even halfway through. The first was when it went to "technical difficulties" and RUclips went to an ad. The timing of that couldn't have been better. The second was when Sean revealed the big hole under the neck plate and Cathy said "don't go sticking your fingers in there" and Sean replied "you know I HAVE to!" That was pure gold!

@@PXR5-PXR5 Yup , and the thing is it's the same old guitars , they haven't done anything innovative in 50yrs. They think because they add new colors or relic it that justifies them to increase the price by hundreds of dollars. They're so overrated and out of touch , I'm a huge fan of Schecter and own several. At least they keep moving forward and offer a guitar for everyone's style , plus they're well made , the quality is excellent and prices are very reasonable....

Go ahead and support communist China. Getting things made in America is going to cost extra because labor costs quite a bit here, I guess you want them to lower their costs cutting worker salaries so they can compete with a communist nation. I have owned serval off brand strats, single cuts, an many other types of guitars, and can tell you that they are all lacking. Most people who have your opinions just can’t buy one new, then buy used at half costs, this dude doesn’t sell his guitars cheap, but doesn’t talk about his guitar costs but will shit on fender an Gibson all day. He’s promoting you garbage because he gets kick backs from Temu and these Amazon sellers are probably giving him money to.

Beautiful Blue! I love that color! I painted my 68 Mustang Coupe with the Shelby “ California Special “ kit and that Blue, people swore it was black. I had to wet sand the blue with 6000 and spray laquer and kit it with dry 220 for 3 coats before the Urethane clear. I love it when you get it all rubbed out. No silicone, just urethane polish. The Clearcoat looks an inch deep like that one. It broke my heart to sell it. I had roller canned 428 CobraJet to put in it. But I built that 289/302 4 speed for it and he made an offer I couldn’t refuse, the engine was the original 289 and I put a 302 crank in it. I ll tell you that color of blue treated right is the best color you can get. The reflectivity through the clear is amazing! Prettiest Strat color ever! That one be a keeper! Like I miss my vision and my Mustang. That is special!

And you're right - all Fenders are 'partscasters', that's what Leo envisaged from the outset. Some are put together in a Fender factory and some after-market. There's no shame either way.

Man I bought a $40 neck off Temu (the frets needed a bit of leveling) and it was dressed and the ends were nicely rounded! It was a satin finish and 14" radius, I put it on my parts caster and once the frets were leveled, oh man, it played nice! Thanks for your informative, funny, and inspiration in your real talk videos. I will have to seriously want a "name" brand guitar to buy one again. First, I love your videos.
My last fender was a player series, 800 bucks and it needed a complete set up as well as fret work. The fret sprout was really bad but luckily I know how to setup and fix guitars. I now, like you only buy the cheaper guitars, spend a few hours setting them up and find meyself only playing them. The best thing any serious guitar player can do is to buy some basic luthier tools and learn how to use them, in the end it is extremely enjoyable and rewarding. I actually look forward to ordering and setting up cheap guitars now. I bought a Firefly a few months back for $149. I put another 100 in it for pickups, pots, saddles and a new switch and it is my go to guitar.

Hey Shaun. Yes we can get great prices from China but the biggest problem is tolerances and consistency. I've ordered parts off of Ali Express, Musiclily and others and the parts are iffy most times in regards to quality (sometimes) but more so size tolerances. I agree with you 100% though the big three need to start making guitars worthy of their asking price! I still say for the money and quality it's impossible to beat Sire!

I taught myself everything I could find about guitars about 6 years ago..I'm almost 60 and was looking to get back into guitars ...when I saw people paying for "SET UPS" , i thought that cant be that hard and just kept going from there ...I started buying cheap and fixin or customizing yard sale guitars ...now I have over 50 guitars ... the plan was to sell them too , but I aint ready to yet ...I enjoy them...I lost use of my left arm and hand due to the c19 jab ...I'm very slowly getting better
