best pickup was Bobs Big Boy #32 and #33. Found them cleaning up my Moms things while looking through a scrapbook my she made when she was a kid.

My list, like your list, hit a snag once I bought a few bigger books I bumped into this year. However, my favorite book of 2023 was one I found at a local antique shop, and of all the books I bought this year it was probably the least expensive keeper. No pressing or cleaning just submit and wait anxiously on CGC to do their thing... and my Airboy 5 came back a 9.6. I was thrilled to add this Stevens cover to my collection. Congratulations on the 10k. I look forward to being here when you hit 15k!

Best pick up of 2023 = Peter Bagge's HATE Issues #1-5 at cover price. One of the few comic books (along side Groo The Wanderer) that actually makes me laugh out loud.
Some nice pickups by you in 2023, hopefully you'll land more from your 2024 list. My favorite pickup from 2023 is probably a graded copy of Canto #1 that was limited to 200 copies.

Great video! Fun-and humbling-to watch your ongoing comic quest. My top acquisition this year was a mid-grade copy of FF48. Silver Surfer has been my favorite character since I was an early teen. Never knew it would take 40 plus years to get this personal grail, but the situation finally presented itself, and I’m absolutely stoked.
You got some beauties in 2023! Good luck with your 2024 list! What I’m most proud of getting in 2023 was the SIMPSONS /FUTURAMA cross over hardcover! No it’s not expensive but it was from my son on x mas, and Simpson’s is my jam❤
My favorite pick up of the 2023 was Edge of Spider-verse #2 with the first appearance of Spider-Gwen. I always find that being able to get a major "Spider-Man" universe grail is very rewarding and really puts a stamp on your collection.

A bulletman #2 with a great mac raboy cover
And my fave a flash comics #98 with the first new hawk man costume that completed my run of flash comics from #87 to #104

Congratulations on 10k! My favorite pickups were all the X-Men Pizza Hut tie-in’s. Kind of a weird one, but those are what got me in to comics when I was a kid and managed to find all of them in dollar bin’s this last year

Hey, keep the videos coming Drew. I always look forward to them! My favorite pickup of 2023 was Doctor Strange #169 at a convention in Niagara Falls. It was late on Sunday and I was about to when I stumbled on a vendor that was pricing things dirt cheap so he had less to bring back with him. It's a raw book that has to be about a 7.5-8 and I only paid $125! The thrill of finding deals like that on books you didn't know you would ever have in your collection.
Congrats on your 2023 Drew. I think the Brainiac is the coolest, just because the Turtles 1 seems too obvious. Good luck on 2024!
🙏 Best pick up was Spawn #1 mint condition, Bought it for 20 bucks, owner told me that was a gift since he was 10 years old, never opened it 😮
The story of saving that book, for long time and being cooking for a real spawn fan... Makes me feel is something special for me 😅😅😅
Spawn1 gets a bad wrap from “serious” collectors, but I tell you what: that book has brought in more collectors to the hobby than most. It is a straight up gateway drug and I’m here for it! Congrats!

Congrats on the 10k!! My favorite pick-up wasn't even for me. My mom is a huge Captain America fan and I was able to score a Captain America 100 for her during a sale. She was so excited when she opened it up for Christmas. That was awesome!

I'm disqualified from the contest, but my biggest and best pickup of 2023 was in the final week of the year - I finally snagged a 9.8 copy of Clone Wars #1 at a price I was willing to pay. Best of luck for 2024.

Snagged a copy of the Kingdom Come preview advert. It was the book that got me back into comics and prompted me to find an online comic community to be a part of. So a very important part of my collecting journey.

Nice snags sir. My personal favorites were a signed Bernie Wrightson Frankenstein and Masters of the Universe 1, both the mini and first full solo series. Nothing crazy but special to me.

I love seeing people's top 10 want list because its unique to each individual and usually teaches me about a comic I dont know much about. As far as my best pickup of 2023... it was Journey Into Mystery 88 (2nd Loki). My dog is even named Loki.

My best pickup was a mid grade Man-Thing 1, 1st solo series. It was a project book I cleaned, pressed and carefully worked at it til I brought up to a final grade of CGC 9.0.
My favorite pickup in 2023 was ASM #33 in a CGC 8.5. This is my all-time favorite comic book when I was young, so glad that I finally pick it up.

Jelly of that TMNT #1. My favorite pick up of this year was a nice copy of FF#50. It's not super high grade, but it looks nice and it such a rad cover.

Congrats on 10K subs brother. My best pickup of 2023 is when I bought an Ultimate Comics Spider-man #1 in a 9.6 graded CGC slab. It was my best slab I bought more recently.

I honestly just got lucky. Around the time that early TMNT was starting to blow up, I thankfully already had 1 (2nd and 3rd), and 1st prints of 1-4, I made the decision to put together the whole run while I was in Chicago for the Kane County Toy Show. We walked into a Chicagoland shop and they had an amazing run with most all of them being priced at only $5/ea! I think I picked up some 30+ issues in one bite from that store. We hit some other shops and the toy show as well before the weekend was over and I was about 70% finished by the time we got home that weekend.
Hope you're able to get your goals for 2024 Como! My best pickup of 2023 was a very low grade of Avengers #4, 1st silver age Cap. Didn't think I'd ever own one but was finally able to find a good deal for under $400.

My favorite for 2023 is a toss up ! I scored an amazing spider man 56 this year . Your Action comics were the best in my opinion.

My best pickup by most standards would be ASM 14, but that was not even on my list. The 3 books I checked off my list were Detective 311, Marvel Spotlight 5, and Iron Man 55.
My best 2023 pick up was Incredible Hulk #6 CGC 2.5 only 1, 4 and 5 left to get! Good luck to all on their 2024 quests!
Two of my favorite comic grabs of 2023 were Strange Tale 207 and Starslayer 2 (1st Rocketeer)
I picked up a few low grade good ones in 2023: Silver Surfer 3 (Mephisto) from a buddy, ASM 41, and a couple more
I like you did do too well with my 2023 wishlist but did pick up some great things. My favorite pick up was X-force#1 still in bag signed by Rob Liefeld.

Congrats Drew! Alien/Aliens movies series will always be my top Sci fi movies, in second place would have to be John Carpenters The Thing. My top pick up for 2023 is on your prize list. Daredevil 179, was so happy to replace this book.
I got a copy of Sgt Fury and His Howling Commados #13. The issue with Captain America on the cover. Found it at the Route 66 Comic Com in Lebanon Mo.

Oh man, this was a good year, but the one that thrilled me the most was a copy of the Maximum Carnage promo book. It's beat up, but I got it for 25 bucks. I'll take that any day!

My best pickup this year was probably a giveaway contest win from economics in comics. It was a 2nd print speechless limited edition to only 10 copies.
Thought you had a good 2023 and have some interesting books on the list for 2024. I started an Avengers 1 -100 run last year and continuing that is my goal for 2024,. I want the books 7.5 or better, not necessarily graded, just that condition. Have about 30 so far, so have a way to go. Good luck in 2024.
My favorite personal pickup this year was a F+ copy of Showcase #79 (1st app. Dolphin with the Jay Scott Pike cover) which I bought for a song at less than $20.00. It was one of those things where I was just in the right place at the right time.
Although you didn't meet your goal, you still had some very solid acquisitions, including some that sort of fell into your lap. The Death Rattle #1 is still on my want list-- it's the only one I'm missing to complete the run. Good luck in 2024

My favorite pick up for 2023 is X-men #95. It's low grade but I got it cheap and in my budget. One step closer to completing the Chris Claremont run!

I didn't get to get much last year. Think my favorite pick up is probably random to everyone else. However, I was happy it finally came out. It is Wonder Woman 1 2nd print!! 😮 Completing Jim Lee's trinity covers was a long wait lol.
Favorite pickup of 2023 was probably X-men #9, one of the last I needed to finish my run.
My favorite pick up of 2023 was my copy of G.I.Combat #138, the first appearance of The Losers. I’ve been looking for a high grade copy for years and with only 67 graded copies on the CGC census, these don’t come up for sale very often.
Shock Suspenstories 1 cgc 2.5 best pickup for me in 2023.
I’m probably much older than most of your audience, so I have very few grails as I have most DC and Marvel runs of books in the Silver & Bronze Ages. However, I finally secured a high grade Weird War Tales #1 & some high grade Our Army at War books no’s. 95, 97 & 98 to come close to completing the Sgt. Rock run.
I guess my favorite pickup of 2023 was Justice Society of America 9, the Alex Ross Powergirl cover. I'm trying to get all the Alex Ross Justice Society of America covers.

Furst congratulations on the 10,000 K milestone. My best pick up from 2023 was when I picked up a box of comics that had new mutants put two in a bag and sometimes three. In the middle where there was actually three in a bag, I found a new 98 that looked pristine. I took a shot and sent it to CGC and it came back a 9.8. I was so happy to get such a great book at such a great price $50 for the entire lot. The second best book I got was when I went to my LCS and the writer of Scooby Doo Batman was there and personalized a book for my nine-year-old son. granted it’s not the most valuable book in the world but he very much likes it and has been begging me to get it encapsulate it. I guess CCS will be seeing the book soon. Anyway, thank you for entertaining me and my son have a great road to 20 K.

You did good in what you bought last year. My best pickup was Prize #7 (first appearance of multiple characters). It is a coverless copy that I could afford. That issue is listed as scarce in the Overstreet guide, so it is not easy to find in any condition. I am working on collecting all of the Prize Comics that have Frankenstein by Dick Briefer in them. So far, I own # 7, 8, 9, 11, 39 and 67. Only 40+ more to go...

Will Friedle is going to be in KC for Planet this year and I’ve contemplated having him sign it.
I think picking up a first print TMNT #1 is an A+ for the year, lol. I don't think I got anything too crazy in 2023, my favorite pickup would probably be between my high grade copy of Miracleman #15 and Saga #1 first print. Both were books I've been after for a while, and oddly enough, they came to my lcs in the same collection! I started off this year with a Fantastic Four 48, so I've probably already peaked 😂
