Hell, I'm not even bent about playing as Red Team necessarily, since we already know 343 is allergic to co-op. I'd love a good build-up game playing as a Spartan survivor like Horvath where you are actually required to upgrade your armor (Horvath's MJOLNIR is essentially inoperable by the end of Rubicon Protocol a few days before Chief is recovered), and the game's climax has you take the fight to the Banished by tearing up another of their Dreadnoughts or three alongside the SOF crew. Shit, I should write that video, actually.
Gbraakon, Lodon, Tiacoro, etc. were different territories on Doisac; the "Ghost of..." dreadnought names are hence named in memoriam of those territories.
I still find it hilarious how the Banished just straight up rammed three of these things into the Infinity. Just, I am pretty sure that the moment the Infinity came out of slipspace one of them rammed its side and two more followed in the chaos. Also... I have been looking at this ship backwards haven't I? I thought the big curved part was the front, but now thinking about it, that is horribly wrong, and I am an idiot.
Each of those ships was destroyed in the process at the moment they rammed the Infinity 😂 That’s why they needed more than one, they knew the ships were gonna be single-use
I realized that the book of Rubicon it stated Infinity crashed landed on the planet and Zeta ring teleported into slip space out of nowhere. the bright side is that there is still Huragoks still inside the super carrier and they're known to repair any technology, would that means the Infinity is down not out yet.
@@gammacompanymark also if you look at the ending of Infinite the weapon told chief reinforcements are coming, judging from the time frame the chief was in space for six months and the extra time jump from the harbinger boss fight. the Ship should be finished repairs and commandeered by the few UNSC personnel and Roland has been rebooted back online for service.

@@robotwithnoname7677Infinity has survived a crash landing before on Requiem. If any, ANY of her secondary MACs and Coilguns are still online, the Infinity will survive any attempted ground assault. A single surface MAC on Reach was able to stave off an entire Covenant assault force which included a Ket-pattern Battlecruiser, giving time for the Pillar of Autumn to escape. Infinity has 10 of them. 5 on each side. If the ship is still intact, Infinity is going to survive. Even her broken wreckage would prove a formidable opponent. Even completely disabled she has numerous pieces of equipment within that will keep the site safe.
One thing I really hated with the new story was just how much wasn't explained about how or why you were in the situation you find yourself in Infinite. They just expected you to accept what happened and go along with it no questions asked. To be clear being in a situation where you don't know everything that happened isn't the issue, it's that they didn't bother with trying to explain why at any point during the story. If they explained that the Banished caught the Infinity off guard in a surprise attack, or pounced on it after it was weakened then that would've helped a lot in explaining how the Infinity, Humanity's most advanced ship, was taken down so quickly. Sure we see the banished ship ramming the Infinity and causing lots of damage, but we've also seen the Infinity itself survive ramming another ship so the question is how did the banished manage to do that? At least your video does a better job than the actual game in explaining possibly how it happened.
Honestly Infinite is far too focused on trying to explain away Cortana (and even then do it poorly) that literally every other plot point just feels like filler. Both Escharum and the Habringer are nothing villains who monologue a bit and die. Escharum pointlessly sacrifices his forces despite wanting a 1v1 with chief, which he then holds a hostage during and somehow chief considers him a kindred soul or something. Similarly the Harbinger also seems to be randomly antagonized to chief but also terribly ineffectual, randomly tossing him around instead of misleading him or like i dunno, trying to kill him. The Banished themselves seem really weird in motivation, and for being a ragtag mercenary group, serve no one and seem to be able to produce their own custom ships now and take down infinity (despite not being able to take out an old ship with half her crew in HW2). There practically isnt a human plot on the ring beyond some audio logs. The forces chief saves have no actual characters. They're just mindless drones. But Cortana? Well we got to tease info about her death the whole game, and try to give her some sort of noble sendoff.
Ur right, there should have been another game between Guardians and Infinite. One that showed buildup to the arrival at Zeta Halo and the insertion of the Weapon and cutscenes that showed the Infinity’s million macs and middle pods we never see in action and dropped some Banished hints and small scale encounters with them.

I’ve always thought that the Infinity HAD to have been in a fight against Cortana. It sucks that she was taken out the way that she went, but the thought of a cannibalized Banished Infinity sounds terrifyingly awesome.
Great breakdown. I have wanted to make a Halo Mega Construx version of this ship. So your video has given me several good views of the ship from different angles that I can now accurately complete the design.

@@Nevermore-eq9lx I mean. We see the infinity come out of slipspace ram a giant covie ship then proceed to take on that fleet with no issues. In the H4 campaign we see the infinity with its shields down get ambushed and boarded by another covie fleet aided by the didact using his forerunner ball ship thing and his promethean knights, and again with the chiefs help not only repel the mixed boarders of covies and Prometheans but also beat back the didact and his ball but also take out a few covie ships and force the rest to retreat. The infinity should not have been defeated by the banished. Unless they brought dozens and dozens of ships, sent 10's of thousands of boarders and lost 80% of their fleet before finally overrunning the infinity. That is assuming they are as strong as the covies/Prometheans, but if we look at infinites gameplay and hW2, we see the spirit of fire and its skeleton crew not only survive against the banished and Atriox himself but actually beat him back too, and they are one 30 year old ship filled with a skeleton crew. And in just 4 minutes? Im not really understanding what your arguing here.
I just hate that in the lore the infinity was the most powerful ship ever (aside from forerunner ones), and it went down in four minutes thanks to a ship that was made by a brand new faction pulled out of the hat of 343 industry’s. Plus freaking MONKEYS made the ship. Just stupid to me.
You know what is stupid? Getting angry over the fact that the Banished are a great faction and one of 343's best ideas to date. Plus freaking MONKEYS are awesome and are shown to be a brutal empire. Just stupid to me
I don’t think anyone would consider 4 ships doing a ramming run on the infinity because that would be seen as crazy. Just because a ship is the strongest doesn’t mean it’s going to be the most defensible. There’s a reason the infinity is always seen with escorts and always stay behind lines. Plus 4 minutes makes so much more sense then 20 minutes or so, the banish never play defensive and cautiously like the UNSC and Covenant do, they make bold moves and they do it fast and swiftly.
@@Lazypackmule One which either wasn't used by the covenant, or the Banished have their own version of, which would be unique. I find myself fascinated by the Banished's design choices, so breakdowns on their stuff is pretty exciting to me.
Mark, my bet is Atriox used slipspace crystal from Anodine Spirit (Key-ship from Halo 3, left on the Ark) to jump on top of Infinity while it has dealt with Cortana. That would lower their battle ready stance and cause them not to expect attack. Then out of nowhere (with Forerunner infused slipspace, skipping sensor range of Infinity) those dreadnoughts appear around Infinity and accelerate for ramming speed. First one rams, deploys troops inside Infinity, then second and third. Infinity is overrun with boarding troops and abandon ship order is issued.
The ramming tactic would buckle the ship and turn every single occupant to liquid from the gee-forces. This was shown during the fight with mendicant bias shortly after the halo array was fired. If the forerunners couldn't keep their crew from turning to liquid, the banished sure as shit cant. They've been buffed with so much plot armor that they literally outshine the forerunners in many ways. Being able to breathe flood spores and even crush infectors in their bare hands makes the concept of the halo rings, and therefore the premise for 'Halo' moot. These characters are so overpowered and poorly written that they undercut the foundation of every single story ever told about 'Halo'. I'm sick to death of this minor faction being elevated above all others for literally no reason. 343 killed halo, and I don't think that's something I can ever forgive. It would be like if someone decided to make a new lord of the rings trilogy, but having some minor force like the goblins be completely unfazed by sauron or any of the rings of power's many effects. It's hardly honoring the wishes of the last writer, and spits in the faces of anyone who genuinely likes the old story. You cannot enjoy the first 3 halo stories while enjoying the last 3. They're diametrically opposed to each-other. The stories told and the logic behind every character's choices are mutually exclusive between the two dev teams. None of the choices or concepts in the first games make any sense because of all the retconning of the last ones. They killed halo, and people are just eating it up. They killed the concept and necessity of the rings and the forerunners sacrifice. Brutes are now immune to the flood and somehow smarter than humans, prophets, or even forerunners. Their ships are stronger than the one that killed Mantle's Approach, which means that the brutes could easily take out a forerunner ship as well. By that logic, the brutes should have conquered the galaxy a long time ago. It's a load of shit and I'm tired of people acting like it's inspired writing.
I'll never get tired of this story. Lasky with the most avanced warship humanity has ever mustered, fully stocked and with over 70 spartan 4. Destroyed in under 5 minutes over a halo ring Mr. Captain James CHAD Cutter with a proverbial flying brick, half a crew and 3 defective spartan 2 was rudely awaken one morning, decided that was unacceptable and took the ark for himself.
Considering the fact that the guardian was crashed on the ring it wouldn’t surprise me to the slightest that the infinity was hurt severely after the fight. So if the banished got the drop on infinity then it would absolutely make sense that it would loose the fight. However if the dreadnought is fast enough then it presents the possibility that the UNSC can’t hit them at long ranges with MAC shots.
She is designed to be fully operational even if 80% of the hull is compromised, just like the pillar of autumn . I do believe she is not "destroyed" but indeed took heavy damage and was forced to crash land on ZH or maybe even managed to slipspace back to earth, somewhere for repairs, which is possible because we only see her bow being destroyed, but the engines could *THEORICALLY* still be in good condition, not enough for a long trip for sure but for a small emergency jump as they did in Halo 5
The Infinity got done dirty. It was such an interesting ship, and I feel we didn't see enough of it where it wasn't disabled or in trouble. It is more satisfying to think it managed to go toe to toe with a guardian and win before being jumped by the banished and destroyed, though. The Banished are a great new enemy, but they should never have been able to take out the infinity so easily. Maybe an animated movie or series would be good to fill the gaps between 5 and infinity.
Everything about the infinity’s neutralisation was dumb, I could understand if they’d disable it and it crash lands PoA style in CE, but outright destroying it was pointless (especially when considering that infinity has a sister, which completely nullifies the loss).
A sister which by all accounts should end up actually being superior to Infinity as well. Alot of the tech on the Infinity came from Eternity, meaning that Eternity now has more time to be upgraded even further.
Esharm: I wish I could say it was difficult... Me: Yall straight up ambushed the Infinity my dude. Not to mention there was other factors that led to your victory.
I just dont get this. I get the the covenant were backwards but come on. Youre telling me a race that nuked itself to the stoneage can just suddenly invent a ship that can take down the infinity.
@@CHRF-55457 I think what I don't like is that humanity is once again being dominated. I feel like they really could've went for the arms war here. Where we and the banished are pretty much equal and the war is mostly about who can innovate faster. As it stands rn is (Oh hey yeah you one dude save everything again). Which could've worked if we actually got a halo 6 showing how we got fucking obliterated in the created wars.
I hope that Infinities sister ship that was being built then had its construction halted, was continued but as a true combat ship and not a mixed ship.
god it would have been so fucking awesome to see these things deploying halo wars 2 style bases and units but nope. cannot believe 343 did the banished so dirty. wheres the blisterback, reaver, marauder, scarb, etc?? infinite had a great opportunity to finally expand the dynamics of halo's vehicle combat while including some bomb ass units from halo wars, and it dropped the ball. oh well and to be clear i think this ship type is pretty rad. maybe they were made a bit too quickly for my tastes in the timeline, but the overall idea of a brute version of the spirit of fire is awesome.
It makes more sense that the banished got lucky and managed to stumble upon a damaged Infinity. Because I don’t see the Infinity going down in just a couple minutes without destroying at least one of those in the process.
I get that they were trying to Mimic the feeling of hopelessness and isolation we got in CE but the supposed destruction of the Infinity is hard to be satisfied with given what is displayed in-game/in-cutscenes, had they shown us the expanded combat abilities of these ships instead of JUST the ramming aspect It might have been more believable. I'd also like to note It'd have been VERY cool of the ships were dynamic in the singeplayer.. like if you spend too much time or make enough of a ruckus in a specific area one of the ships would fly over and loiter above, increasing the strength/level of Banished troops in the area while also providing supports like Banshee patrols, Drop Pods, increased reinforcement and the like.
I'm wondering if the Grav-Impact Drive isn't a bow mounted emitter but rather something else. One thing that comes to mind is a massive cannon similar to the spiker. This ship has a lot of foundries and processing facilities, that means there is probably a lot of slag. And if you got a molten pool of that sitting somewhere and decide you want to get rid of it what better way then to fire off a jet of this into someone and let Sir Issac Newton demonstrate why he is the deadliest son a of bitch in space. Another idea would be a concentrated beam to be fired on to the surface. Again this ship has foundries and processing facilities and is used to build instant fortifications to drop on demand. However, there may not be a level area to drop it, or it is large rocky area that is slanted in such a way that it will slide or something. Maybe it can drop a localized gravity field to flatten and/or crush a drop zone for a prefab structure. At around 6:59 there is a picture of a base that is setup on a hill with ramps and level planes inside of it with structures. And if they used this device in making this base can see it hit in stages with it hitting areas around the hill to impact and force earth to compact into this geometric like shaping. Removing most of the need for excavation equipment to carve out something like this by hand and with large vehicles for the most part. Just impact a section(s) of earth and drop a base on now compacted site ready to go. Then bring down the rest of the equipment needed to expand the base as required.
343 *reeeeally* needs to make a ship strategy game. Think about it, each faction now has their own trademark ship weapon. UNSC has the mac guns, which are powerful, dumb fire single shot weapons, covenant has the glassing beams, which are more damaging than the mac guns but need closer range, the guardians/forerunners have an emp blast, and now the brutes have a battering ram. This would also be the perfect chance to let us actually play through the battle of zeta halo and not just tell us about it. (Though it should still wind up in a fps campaign sinner or later)
I doubt it's the answer but scindere is an italian word that means to split, divide, or sunder. Considering the number, i'd say it's some kind of AA or point defense.
Infinity to me the way it went down was just so weird it was just a massive and powerful ship I feel it should’ve been extremely weakened before the banished pinned her because that’s the only way she could’ve gone down like the Bizmark went down he died taking many ships with him but the only reason he went down was from a later attack that weaken him so he wasn’t at full power and the reason I use he is because Germans is he with there ships but infinity should’ve gone down in a somewhat similar way instead of being just demolished but it did show that humanity’s prize their best ship tech wish was beaten by some ramming ships sized up ten fold it’s ironic a technological advanced ship and was the best of her time while brutes built a massive battering ram to take her down and it showed that the brutes and banished were a threat and made us feel worthless compared to them it gave us a reason to actually be fear full of the banished

343 making the Infinity: This ship is the best ever, it can put a hole in the most powerful Forerunner ship we've ever seen Also 343: Monke kill in 4 minute lol
Slight correction: It has three repulsor engines, not one. So it's probably faster, and more maneuverable than you are giving it credit for, however I also feel like this doesn't eliminate any of the weaknesses you mentioned. Also, I am aware it only looks like it has one engine.
Again, another 343 screw up. Why destroy the Infinity in the first place, for shock and awe or desperation!? So Cortana committed suicide (stupid) then the "valuable " asset in the UNSC Navy (which was just introduced in H4 btw) gets flamed in the first minutes of the game, where were all the escorts and other support forces, also what happened to Roland? (The answers have to make sense) and instead of having a true space battle she gets rammed, makes no sense! A space battle that's simultaneous to a land campaign would have been a great opener this could have lead to expansion of the game with dlc (i.e. ODST's deploying to a nearby planet to perform ops alongside FT Osiris or Crimson? There just so much that could have been done right by 343 that wasn't and it showed after the release of the game. Also why in the great galaxies that the Infinity Class didn't have energy projectors as a main armament along with the Series 8 MAC'S but then introduced a Frigate with the Reflex laser? 343 is just outdated for the Halo franchise and if Microsoft don't wake up to realize that then this franchise is done! Come on Mass Effect 4!!!
Because they were pretty much scrapping everything they did that people complained about in their other Halo games? Hence why they shift all the designs back into the Halo 3 era even for their ships because people just screamed that Humanity not actually being able to put their best foot forwards and develop their technologies for 4 years after Halo 3 and with the help of human sympathetic aliens is apparently too much to handle so they hit the universal reset button twice now to achieve that and of course people then complain that 343i listened to their complaints instead of just barreling ahead despite them on the off chance they might have grown the fuck up and gave attention to the story they were wanting to set up that they then scrapped to appease them? (in the words of the perpetually stuck in 2010s I have seen across youtube and reddit)
Yes for the space combat game. It could still have spartan stuff too. If your ship blows up, then you float in space to find something else to fly or get finished off.
I almost feel like Atriox saw the Spirit of fire and thought he could do better. Even if these things were designed before the induction to the hegemony
So how many of these are there on Zeta Halo after the events of the game? Pretty sure 6 are near the broken part of the ring but is it stated that they are anywhere else on 07? as it seems the Banished are putting most of their efforts on that small art of the ring.
The ship clearly has 3 repulsor engines, not just 1. Look at those lines at the back where all the exhaust comes from. One big one, basically consisting of 2 smaller ones, and again 2 smaller ones on the sides.

There might not be a next campaign... but we can hope for one.
Gbraakon, Lodon, Tiacoro, etc. were different territories on Doisac; the "Ghost of..." dreadnought names are hence named in memoriam of those territories.
I love this. Little hints that Doisac is gone. I always wondered what Ghosts Escahrum was talking about in the first mission
Babe wake up, new ship breakdown just dropped
I still find it hilarious how the Banished just straight up rammed three of these things into the Infinity. Just, I am pretty sure that the moment the Infinity came out of slipspace one of them rammed its side and two more followed in the chaos.
Also... I have been looking at this ship backwards haven't I? I thought the big curved part was the front, but now thinking about it, that is horribly wrong, and I am an idiot.
Nah you're right, the big curved part is the front, its the ram lol.
Plus, the bow has technology seen in the gravity hammers. And we all know how hard those hit.
3:54 you can see the engine. So you had it right, curved part is the front.
Each of those ships was destroyed in the process at the moment they rammed the Infinity 😂
That’s why they needed more than one, they knew the ships were gonna be single-use
@@HwangInhoBooNam That's where the gravity hammer technology comes into play.
I realized that the book of Rubicon it stated Infinity crashed landed on the planet and Zeta ring teleported into slip space out of nowhere. the bright side is that there is still Huragoks still inside the super carrier and they're known to repair any technology, would that means the Infinity is down not out yet.
Good point, I didnt even consider that!
Do you know when it said it crashed on the planet? I can only find them saying they don’t know where it is or what happened to it
@@rezboifrybread it doesn't say where to be honest but the campaign intro scene showed the Infinity traveling to a distant planet while two Banished ship keep on ramming it and along with the UNSC personnel have not seen a Infinity destroyed wreckage at orbit nor the Ring. it's a good guess to say it crashed landed to the unknown planet surface.

I think a fallout/elder scrolls type halo game set on Venezia would be awesome! Imagine being able to pick through the covenant races to play as (or just pay as a human if you’re boring.)
From what I am hearing here the dreadnoughts are basically heavily armed and armored colony ships similar to the akkan battlecruiser from sins of a solar empire, just like the spirit of fire.
An apt comparison, yep. For AGGRESSIVE colonization.

Bungie lore: space combat is 4d chess
343 lore: RAMMING SPEED
All of that extra manufacturing stuff makes this ship slightly more impressive than I thought.

Let's all agree: if the Infinity had its cruiser/destroyer escort, it would've ended very differently....
if the banished didnt have plot armor it would have ended very differently.
I can see the infinity being destroyed. Being overwhelmed is a thing, but in four minutes is just sloppy writing.
The banished are way to over hyped in their lethality and competence to wage war. They should not have won that battle. Given all we know about them they wouldnt have, if not for the plot armor.

Can we standardise our ship lengths in warthog runs?

Destroyed in under 5 minutes over a halo ring
Mr.

True true true
The Infinity got done dirty. It was such an interesting ship, and I feel we didn't see enough of it where it wasn't disabled or in trouble. It is more satisfying to think it managed to go toe to toe with a guardian and win before being jumped by the banished and destroyed, though. The Banished are a great new enemy, but they should never have been able to take out the infinity so easily. Maybe an animated movie or series would be good to fill the gaps between 5 and infinity.
It was a huge missed opportunity to fight on the infinity as it went down
Everything about the infinity’s neutralisation was dumb, I could understand if they’d disable it and it crash lands PoA style in CE, but outright destroying it was pointless (especially when considering that infinity has a sister, which completely nullifies the loss).
A sister which by all accounts should end up actually being superior to Infinity as well. Alot of the tech on the Infinity came from Eternity, meaning that Eternity now has more time to be upgraded even further.
The banished Army tour
I am still thoroughly unconvinced that the Infinity is down and out just yet

and to be clear i think this ship type is pretty rad. maybe they were made a bit too quickly for my tastes in the timeline, but the overall idea of a brute version of the spirit of fire is awesome.
It makes more sense that the banished got lucky and managed to stumble upon a damaged Infinity. Because I don’t see the Infinity going down in just a couple minutes without destroying at least one of those in the process.
Maybe a breakdown on the UNSC carriers?
Got some in the works already!
Nice opening edit
6:33 no shit Genius😂 unless you left heavy shit like this on your daily workout

The fighter level in reach is tons of fun.

The Halo Encyclopedia says 1, my assumption is that it's one engine with multiple thrusters.
