Justine Hénin was pretty much the only player who really forced Serena to play her very best. And after she lost to Naomi Osaka,Justine Hénin said that the tennis of Serena still there ,obviously, but she’s missing the will to win,the will who were making her very hard to beat in the last stages of a tournament. I really like the way Justine Hénin talk about Serena when she’s commenting because you see that she knew her very well as an opponent. I used to hate her from what she did at the FO but since ,I have the most tremendous respect for her career and her game. And she also noted that Serena only to remind herself who she’s 😊
Eo de Scylla, I still can't forget Henin's behaviour in that FO Final, she cheated, plain and simple. But if what you say is true, abt her comments on Serena, then it was a nice thing to do.
@@michelez715 I love Justine as a player. I can forgive her and she admitted that she was intimidated by the sisters of course. Lol but she was real with her thoughts and offered the reason why she did it. NO IT DO NOT Excuse Justine actions. But I can understand. I cannot forget either, however The adult /Correct thing for Justine was to at least acknowledge and offer an apology for her actions at the F.O better late than never. Capriati will never admit nor apologize for her actions towards them on tour. Lo,
I said this Serena just needs to remember who she is! At the last stages I notice it too! Serena loses that fire a little bit! She needs to remember who she is! No one can beat her when she’s on her game no matter what age she is
Justine, Serena and Venus are the top 3 players of that generation, at their bests head and shoulders above everyone else. With Maria right behind them. Serena is the goat of course! Love all of them for giving us wonderful matches over a decade!! 💕
But Serena profited enormously from her two opponents’ nasty diseases from 2008 on (Henin burnout syndrome, Venus Sjogren‘s disease). Can’t see her winning more than 16, 17 slams otherwise.
Serena was injured and still won, even though the crowd was rooting for Justine!! Great Champion!! I loved that male commentator, because he’s always neutral and an always professional, but not the female commentator wasn’t neutral!
She was not at all injured I saw all if 2010 Australian open it was a protective strapping Serena herself said she wore protective strapping right from the beginning of the Aussie open even also in the HopmanCup to prevent the cramps from the heat
Any Sports is extremely demanding physically hence the cruel retirement at the age when life just start for most of US. I am sure Hennin can still hit the ball that uniquely as no one else in her field. Its hard as Fan not being able to watch her compete anymore but I really hope one day there would be VETERAN tournament where (i have to admit I have a smile whilst penning this) The candy Queen M sharapova would always win against S Williams. i LOVE TENNIS BUT I RECENTLY LOVE IT MORE WHEN MAJORITY OF RETIRED WTA PROFESSIONALS ARE (MOTHERS) Wish then and all dear to them good health and a lot I mean a lot of FUN.
The great différence between Serena and Henin is Serena was good even from behin, in the other side Henin was very good when things were going her way but once it became a battle she was lost
Henin was lost when it became a battle?????? She was one of the strength mental player on the court. Vs Capriati (Us open semi 2003)/ vs Serena (French Open semi 2003) / vs Myskina (Olympic games semi 2004) / vs Davenport (Australian Open 2003) / vs Serena (Berlin Final 2002)/ vs Seles (Dubaï final 2003). And that's only a few exemples. There is also this great match against Clijsters in the Brisbane Final 2010 (she lost but she was pretty close).
@@ivanlecky7563 I never said she lost all the hard matches she had in her career, she was a great player for sure but my point stand, Henin wasnt a fighter like Serena Venus or Capriati, she was more like Lindsay, a front runner, thats why she retired in 2008 because she felt like she couldnt fight anymore with Maria Serena and the others
@@chrisarmelseyibayebek4977 Not at all the reason. She was (a lot) better than Sharapova and led 7-3 h2h. Against S.Williams she was only 6-8 behind. Henin's retirement was due to persistent, recurring injuries and fatigue, and also reduced motivation.
After her first retirement due to burnout syndrome Henin never was the same player again. During her short return in 2010/11 she never made the top 10 again. Kind of sad when we remember how at her peak in 2003-07 she dominated the tour including Serena (Juju was 5-2 win/loss against her the, including 4-1 in slams!).
What on earth??? Omg Serena's face after the line person and the umpire corrected themselves. I'm srsly #smh I honestly would probably lose it. Instead, she aced her next shot. #mentalToughness
henin and hingis who are not the most tallest or strongest of players challenged serena more than any one else with their all court game and good understanding of the game. everyone else just either tried to outhit serena or just played pushy and it rarely worked.
Serena would’ve lost this final if that man from the crowd didn’t say “come on Justine, she’s not that good.”

Je dois vous dire que j'ai bien vu que tu as trouvé la coupe sans ambiguïté
J'aime bien vos films préférés c'est à dire les matchs

surprising that she wouldn’t win this tournament again until 5 years later
Good game, set, match-Serena
Voilà vous êtes toujours forte je vous embrasse très très très bien
Great match from Serena!
Ma belle fleur rose
Bravo à toi
That first service game from Serena in the third. Told u all u needed to know lol. The look then she went up several notches.
9:27 9:32 when she realized she lost that point :)
Anyone wanna translate what Carlos Rodriguez said when Henin broke back at 4-3?
It's hard to translate it literally since it's a very Argentine way of cursing; he said something like "Finally one (break), for fuck's sake"

GREAT SERENA !BEST SERVE EVER !THIS IS THEIR ONLY GS FINAL ENCOUNTER AND SERENA WON !!

This is what Aga and Halep should have learned early on. You cannot just baseline retrieve, you have to outwit Serena because she’s just too solid
