That year was meant for Venus. Her ball striking was exceptional. She faulted a bit in the final and davenport almost had her .

Serena was playing some excellent tennis in 2010. Just a shame we didn't get to see much of her that year. She only played 4 more tournaments after this for the rest of the year due to injury.

I was always impressed with Capriati's court demeanor. All business, no drama, no theatrics. no screaming, highly efficient and straightforward....

I understand why people think Wozniacki is a "pusher" but as a defensive player myself, I hate "brainless ballbashing"... Let everyone have their own style of play and just enjoy the contrast :) I love the Hingis vs Williams (either one of the sisters) matches because of this :) There's more than one way to win a tennis match, but I have to admit that aggressive, dominant play is so fun to watch when it works out! That's why I am also a big fan of the Williams sisters, Davenport, Sharapova... I'm Belgian so of course I love Kim who was a combination of both :)

Maria’s serve was really good at this time. 2005 Lindsay would have easily beaten post 2008 shoulder problems Maria. People cite the 5-1 head to head as evidence that Maria was the fifth player Lindsay had trouble with along with the Williamses and Belgians, but I think Lindsay would have won a lot of the matches if they had played more in her prime years.

Gosh, Serena was way out of shape in 2006 and it was probably a wakeup call going into 2007.

Sfar's racquet looks very similar to mine(Head Microgel Instinct with a 18 by 19 string pattern). I've been unable to find a similar racquet with the same string pattern all the latest racquets have open string patterns.

This is to show that even when it’s not your favorite, legends like Venus and Serena still made it deep to QF and further. They didn’t need mental health experts now and then. Unlike some current one-slam wonders these days. They are too weak mentally. On top of that, they distract themselves with media attention, brands promotion, commercials, and have no time for tennis. I love the era of Williams sisters, Sharapova, Kim, Henin etc.
