Does anyone know why Serena (almost) always wore the same outfit to start the new season that she used to end the previous season? It must be contractual with Nike, or something, bc knowing Serena’s fashion sense, wearing a repeat outfit in a NEW SEASON just seems against her entire being lol

Serena really had an all around game. Huge serve w/ immense variety, power, angles, and great defense. Point starting at 11:31 is just a prime example of how she could turn defense into offense so seamlessly.

She had no business losing that single break point in the first set and her tightening up on all those match points she lost on Simona’s serve. Serena made a lot of errors but kudos to young Simona, her court coverage and athleticism was outstanding.

Serena basically tanked that match cause she didn’t want to play Sharapova who was next. Same thing happened in Australian Open 2006 when Serena lost to Hantuchova….she didn’t want to face Sharapova back then either.
