It is a really fun one to learn, the only issue is it is so widespread it would never work in an actual match. In addition to that, most of the moves made were inaccuracies which makes it even more uncommon.
@@xeanthomas5231 What the hell are you talking about? dxc7 doesn't require a computer to see how bad of a move it is. I'm not throwing shade at Hikaru, he is my favorite player, I'm just saying Gelfand made a fatal error that allowed this beauty of a game to exist.

It's mostly because agadmator is that good at explaining. Try looking up a pgn of a good game going through it. It's even more complicated and confusing
Of course, it must be frustrating when you have the opportunity to capture your opponent's queen _with a pawn promotion_ which brings you another queen of your own, but you can't take it.
Yow. This must be one Hikaru's immortal games. Expecting to see this on Chess Scholastic Centre, Chesswebsite, Will Stewart online Chess lessons, King's Crusher, Chess Network; you know!
5:52 "... now trying to give up the Queen this way". For some reason, I laughed harder than I expected. With agadmator's deadpan tone, it sounded like Hikaru was desperately trying to get rid of the Queen. Then at 6:39 goes on to try for the 4th time to get rid of the Queen and still couldn't. I almost died laughing. 😂
I like his early videos like these more than his current vids. They seem more natural, and fun. When he said, he was pissed for putting his bishop on g1, i lost it. So original.
What is so good is how quick you are.... thank you.... its a bit like watching a good football match. No hope of matching the skills on display but enjoyment at seeing just what the great practicioners are capable of.
I don't why, but seeing this game just makes me laugh. Nakamura is so overpowering here that it's simply comical. You can practically see Gelfand preparing to flip the table and punch Nakamura in the face. Excellent video as always! Your output is phenomenal. I love having all these videos to watch every day
Definitely worthy of a brilliancy prize! A true masterpiece thanks for showing this game agadmator! That Qd3!! I wanted to sac my Rook on g1 there to get control of the dark squares. I don't think I would've found Naka's move :
Very nice gam! And very nice commentary. Actually a funny game. That bishop on g1 must have been the subject of many nightmares to Boris! Thank you for sharing...

I wonder how it would've played out if Gelfand played Qe2 @6:00 instead of Ne5. Does the same effect, pressures Nakamura's queen and protects f3, but also gives him the option to use his rook to capture Nakamura's Bg1 cap. It's also an "Immortal Queen" of his own, cause it'd be guarded by the c3 Knight and would also protect the knight that would be at c4 from a capture. Could've saved him a rook and and knight in the end.
7:39 In this move black should move the knight to capture e4 pawn if f3 pawn capture knight then queen capture pawn is check and white has only way is use queen to block and the queen capture queen is checkmate
the problem is that after Qc4+ black king has no good squares. ...Kh8 is impossible bc of Rxf8+, while ...Kh7 means that Qxe4 comes with check and therefore forces a trade of queens. while if black blocks with ...Rf7 then the rook is no longer on the g file so your ...Qg5 idea is no longer possible.
however, a different way to implement this idea could be to play ...b5 immediately, taking away the c4 square from the white queen [or rook] and therefore now threatening ...Nxe5 (or other related attacking moves). white's queen is the only piece that can defend e5, ...Qg5 may become a big threat as white's queen cant defend all the squares by itself and the c8 rook may not be able to come to the defense in time. (as was said white never has to recapture on e5, but losing the e5 pawn makes the f6 pawn weaker and i think whites position quickly crumbles if the e5 pawn falls). this attack looks very strong and should def be winning for black who is up a piece anyway, ofc the approach taken in the game is much easier to just get the two connected passed pawns and there was no reason to make a winning position more complicated
I like your videos and I watch them all. Please at the beginning of every game tell us either the game is a blitz game or a normal game(time control ) this way a begginer like me would know what openings and which styles are suitable for blitz or normal games.
@7:14 would knight to C4 have been a good move, the queen protects that square, and if the pawn A5 is captured could you move rook to D1 and then D8 to queen the other pawn, and if black rook moves to C8 to attack pawn capture with the pawn on A5?
the c7 pawn is not queening, eg in the line you suggested black can just capture it with the g7 rook after you play rd1. but i think Nc4 is as good as anything else, after ...bxa5 (forced) the best continuation is Rxa5 (rather than Rd1), the rook cannot be captured as then the c7 pawn would be able to queen, while the c7 pawn cant be captured either as the a8 rook is hanging. after black continues eg ...Rc8 then white plays Bb6 and maybe white has some small amount of counterplay, and the c7 pawn is still on the board at least for the moment. it should still definitely be losing though, if nothing else black can again give up the exchange to remove the c7 pawn (after Bb6, ...Rcxc7 Bxc7 Rxc7) and after either Rf5 or Rg5+ (only options that dont lose a piece) this is almost certainly not as bad for white as what was played, as black does not have the a pawn and whites pieces are a lil more active, however it is still clearly losing as white is down a piece with no compensation.
Great video, as always. There’s just one thing that would have made it even better. Flipping the board so we could see the game from Black’s point of view. Surely this isn’t a problem?!
3:13 I don't understand. Where is the explanation for N:e5 or dc after Nh4? What does Re1 do? I saw N:g2. Maybe Re1 had the intention Bf1 - but when you play Bf1 protecting g2, you're kind of aware of N:g2.

First time in history that the Botez gambit got declined so many times in a row
Should be called the Naka gambit now
Only simps accept the botez gambit, which usually leads to them getting mated.

hehe i wouldnt mind getting mated ;)
