Dipping my toe into exploring a PC build - as someone that sim races, there are many more options available for PC in terms of titles and hardware. And knowing virtually nothing about PCs (playing only Xboxes for almost 20 years), this channel is amazing. I’ve learned more in a few days than I thought was possible, and there is A LOT to learn about PCs! And, if I were to buy the parts today, I feel confident I could build a PC that would suit my needs. Thanks man, keep it up! You have a new subscriber and will be watching more in the future!
Thank you Patrick! For sim racing, you really can’t go wrong with anything. The more you spend the better the performance you get. Only specifically consider an Nvidia GPU if you plan to run three separate monitors. Otherwise it doesn’t matter.
Thanks for the quick reply! Would you say the CPU is more important for more physics intensive titles? Currently thinking about pairing something like a 7800x3d with a 7900GRE for good performance on a single monitor for now (only 60hz 4k, but maybe going up to a higher frame rate 1440p or 4k ultrawide in the future).
@@ScatterVolt Just wanted to say though that the reason why the wifi doesnt pop up even though you have the antennas on could be due to not having the motherboard wifi drivers installed 🙏 Atleast that was the reason with my Asus motherboard and i had to download the drivers on a seperate USB and transfer them

I would personally stay away from the 7900/7950 x3d chips, they are expensive, need more cooling and sometimes don’t even work as intended, just get a 7800x3d if gaming is the priority and not productivity, even then I’d go with the R9 non-x3d chips

@Tuxedo_Elite ok so these parts are if you want a mostly nzxt white build. The total on Amazon before tax and shipping is 2,375 dollars. There are some things you can get for cheaper but they won't be nzxt and I would finish filling out the case with fans . I think you can fit 2 fans at the bottom and 1 at the back.
Ive been sending your videos to my friend who just got into PC gaming. The way you explain things makes me more confident and rdy to build my first PC. P.s let me have this PC and i'll give mine away for free 😭. I have a 2080 super 8GB, 32GB ram, 4TB SSD, i9-900K and Asus Z390-A. This is a long shot haha.
Hey so I'm trying this out for my first build and had a few questions since I'm completely new to this. I was trying to make a black version with the same parts and couldn't find a Motherboard that was in black that was 650e only 650 and was really confused on what the difference was and after a little research people were saying to use the white 650e since it was better. Is there any other option?
Hey scattervolt. Just wanna let you know the 360mm liquid freezer 3 you linked does NOT fit with the B650 motherboard you linked. The IO panel interferes with the mounting of the cooler and is off set just enough where you can’t screw in the back two screws on the radiator closest to the IO panel.
@@ScatterVolt Happy to help! Not your fault the case does say it supports up to 360mm but it’s just the fat IO panel on the B650. I made it work with some… adjustments of the case lol
I did this exact build and only the RGB on the ram lights up when turned on. Everything turns on for a split second then shuts off immediately other than the RGB on the ram. How do I fix this problem?
@@ScatterVolt lol yes I can't wait. what's the best practice these days with separating I/O i haven't build a PC in 10 years. one SSD for OS/Swap and data/game files? used to build with an OS drive and a separate drive to dump data to
I dont know how but i spent more than this about 3 months ago and ended up with only a 7900x3d and a 4070😂 wish i knew what i was doing when i built it...
I plan on getting a similar pc (probably the 4090 instead of the 4080 super) but, can’t decide if I should go for the 7950x3d or i9 14900k. I’ll be using it for gaming and productivity so I need the best of both worlds. Which one do you think I should choose
Both are multi core CPUs that have plenty of threads so both are great for “productivity” (they’d be overkill imo, 8 cores is still plenty) One of them has an upgrade path though and the other one is at a dead end
Performance difference is non existent unless you plan to do serious ray tracing. Then that’s where the 4080 super in this build shines, although the $2000 pc can still do ray tracing because it is still damn fast, just not as good as this one.
@@ScatterVolt perfect plan to dabble in ray tracing but not heavy into it so I’ll stick to the build I got… everything comes Sunday can’t wait! Thank you for the video it’s going to help so much when building it… it’ll be the first gaming PC I’ve built
Thanks you so much! These videos have really helped grasp what building a pc will feel like. I know the you mentioned they are interchangeable, but would you change any other components if you installed a 4090 instead of the 4080s? Any other monitors/displays you'd recommend?
I have a Question, when you were doing the Wiring of the fans, the preinstalled fans were connected to the RGB header on the MOBO. I heard that nzxt Fans needed to be connected on nzxt Fan controllers to controll the rgb aspect of the fan. Although the fans on the AIO had fan wires & rbg wires, the preinstalls had those 3 pin female connectors. I though all Nzxt fans had the same wiring?
Hey, noticed that the gpu ya got there looks different any way you could put a link to that cuz I like how smooth it looks compared the the one you put in the description
One other finding... i was having a lot of stability problems especially in Cyberpunk, random game crashes, and even hard system crashes, occasional bluescreens etc. found a lot of errors when I ran memtest86, and ultimately, I had to disable expo1 in the BIOS settings and poof, errors disappeared in memtest86. Will see how that translates in system stability but I'm hopeful. granted I have KLEVV CRAS V 6500mhz 32gb dimms
CAUTION: The linked build part list is not what you see in this video. The cooler, motherboard, SSD are all different. If you buy based on the list, the cooler WILL NOT FIT between the mother board top heat sink and the top of the NZXT H6 Flow RGB Mid-Tower Airflow Case. now I have to either find a skinnier cooler or change case or get another mother board that doesn't hit the fans of the cooler..
ordered up the Kraken he has in the video as it is 10mm slimmer than the linked Arctic Liquid freezer.. hopefully it clears looks like it should be enough room
I'll be addressing the CPU Cooler portion of this and swapping it out with a skinner 360mm AIO that should clear any motherboard you want to put at the top the H6 flow. The motherboard and SSD choices are the same but less expensive.
It will like in this video. That's very annoying of NZXT not to have that extra bit of clearance, my apologies. I've changed the cooler in the original parts list to one that has less width (360mm).
@@ScatterVolt the Kraken went in perfectly, rig is up and running and downloading games! was a bit of work, but looking good all I need to do is tie up the cables
Hey ScatterVolt, I plan to build my first PC using all the parts you used in the video, however, I have to ask what screw driver should I get to do it all right?
I really like the build and the video and wanted to say thanks for your time. I was going to build this off of your website and noticed several pieces were different. I was just wondering if you felt they were better later on or if they were unavailable for a time. I found most of the ones in the video and wondered which you’d recommend?
Okay thank you, sorry I didn’t read the previous comments before posting. I realized after that you’ve answered that question so many times. Would you have and tips on installing the rest of the fans for the case? I seen there were a few Nzxt fan controllers and I was wondering if they all just plug into the motherboard. Again, thank you for your time!

Just ordered the parts for your 4K 2000$ build… and now see this! Wondering if I should return some and go with thus
Performance difference is non existent unless you plan to do serious ray tracing.
I’m going to build this but with a 4070 super but I’m praying I don’t mess up
There is no praying. Only doing.
Is it a founders ed??
One other finding... i was having a lot of stability problems especially in Cyberpunk, random game crashes, and even hard system crashes, occasional bluescreens etc. found a lot of errors when I ran memtest86, and ultimately, I had to disable expo1 in the BIOS settings and poof, errors disappeared in memtest86. Will see how that translates in system stability but I'm hopeful. granted I have KLEVV CRAS V 6500mhz 32gb dimms
Thanks! I buyed it! Also the setup cost ➕560$ so total its 3000 and something $ and thanks again😊!
Hey Scattervolt bro would this $2500 or your $2000 setup be good for high end sim racing setup?
Either is fine. Nvidia might have better triple monitor support though.
Wouldn’t matter for either brand though if you had an ultra-wide/VR though.
I made this build but now I’m having trouble with the Wi-Fi. I’m pretty sure it’s the same thing you had. Did you ever find a permanent fix for this?
You gotta install WiFi drivers first
@@ScatterVolt thank you i installed them and it is working great
I really like the build and the video and wanted to say thanks for your time. I was going to build this off of your website and noticed several pieces were different. I was just wondering if you felt they were better later on or if they were unavailable for a time. I found most of the ones in the video and wondered which you’d recommend?
Doesn’t matter. Whatever is on pcbuilds.gg is the cheapest way to build the pc but it’ll still be the same at the end of the day.
Started buying the parts of this PC i Started with the graphics card next the CPU
Noobie question but doesnt the radeon rx 7900 xtx have more raw performance than a rtx 4080 as super?
Yeah get the RX7900 xtx if you want more gaming, if you care about ray tracing marketing then go for nvidia.
Is there a better mainboard for this that would work with these parts and can handle WiFi better?
Is it possible to add another ssd for more space?
0:28 no I can't 😅😢
Same lmfaooo😂😂
7950 x3D or 7800 x3D if money isn’t a problem?
7600X3d
do i need that specific mainboard or would you recommend any other for below 200€? Love the vid btw
started watching you , last nite .. and i love your content ... you deserve a subscribe !!!!!!
Thank you!
Haha I just bought an H6 flow but had no idea what I want to put in it. This helps.
