Honestly this is probably the best use for a tablet for the vast majority of people including myself, but hopefully Google doesn't abandon it and continues to support it to give us the Android tablet we deserve
If it will be anything like the Google Pixelbook, I wouldn't count on it. The question is, will it actually run apps and also will it have a good ecosystem. The PIxelbook did none of those things. I know because I had it and it was a complete waste of my hard earned money.
I have the i7 slate that cost £1700 it was horrendous to say the least Google framework error crashes galore Half tablet .half Chromebook Apps weren't optimised 1 bit Even RUclips ran like a bag of spanners . Now the thing doesn't power up unless I wake the battery with the charge cable on the right usb c port as the left is dead as a door nail
I think it's safe to say that Google seems to be doing a promising job this time. Most importantly, the price is right unlike their few previous Chrome device attempts and the concept is unique on its own compared to other tablets on the market which focused solely on productivity (with extra keyboard and pen) but still hard to be the so-called "laptop replacement" ...
They have renewed their support for tablets since the foldable and with the 12L efforts, it's safe to say it's staying. Maybe not the product, but the Android software will
Ive learned to not listen to most comments or videos. People hated on the pixel watch and i love it and so does my wife. Picel 6 pro is still my phone and i love that.

I'm not referring to Apple Watches, because those absolutely knock anything out of the park. When we compare the pixel watch to Fitbits and galaxy watches, the pixel watch turns into a bad buy. I'm really glad you love the watch but the reason people hate it is it has horribly big bezels and horrible value and software compared to the competition.
@@mathmanchris666 The pixel watch for me has been consistent monthly updates and feature drops, last major update made it work like a normal watch when turned off if you press the crown in without turning on the device, which is nice if you just want a watch to last longer. Not to mention the plethora of QOL updates that has made it more responsive, fixed issues, and increased performance and battery overall. Not to mention the announcement of WearOS 4 coming later this year.
I like it! I have an old Alexa Show and I've always wished it functioned more like a regular tablet or smartphone. It does have decent sound though. Mostly, I just listen to music on it but running other apps is a bit of a pain. This pretty much checks all the boxes for me.
I'm tempted too lol. Perfect for home use, for those that mostly use a tablet for youtube, netflix, internet surfing on the couch, in the bed, kitchen, living room, etc. than those that carry it around to public places like cafes, public transport, etc.
I think the tablet looks beautiful. It's the Pixel design language that I've missed, since Pixel 6 came out. Glad it's back here with this tablet. Such a good looking tablet.

You can't use it as a hub max, it's missing lots of the smart home functionality. That's why I didn't buy it...I thought it would be essentially a hub max that I can take with me but nope

I've used this to take a picture of a paper document that someone has and then read my own digital copy of it after walking away. Pretty seemless that way. You can do it with a phone but then you don't have the same real estate. I wouldn't say that I used it often but it comes in handy sometimes.
I wish Google would have released a charcoal color as well cause the porcelain doesn't even look white in the pictures. It just looks like the rose one honestly.

Without 120hz refresh i would bet on this being for battery longevity reasons for usage around the home or elsewhere. I do my scheduling and email and stuff for work, so this would be super useful since its all in docs.

The one thing that its missing that i HAD to have was expandable memory. I needed an SD card slot and it doesn't have it. Time to go to Best Buy and get a Samsung.

Very enjoyable viewing :) If I wasn't in China and tied into the Xiaomi ecosystem, this tablet would be perfect for me - pretty much exactly what I would like in the living room. But Xiaomi's smart ecosystem is very closed, and the Google Home app can't play with their devices. In the rest of the world though, I suspect this is going to be a hit!

In terms of tablets, 99% of the consumers will be better off buying an ipad, apple have the tablet game in their pocket because of the apps and the hardware, anyone trying to make a tablet compete will have to figure out those things first
My pre-order is already in but they missed the mark on not making the base a stand-alone nest speaker. $129 for an extra base with no additional functionality is a hard sell. Especially considering a Nest Hub is $99. If the base had assistant features on its own I could see a case for having multiple docks around the house.
