I’ve always wanted to go to Patagonia. Now I’m going for sure. This was the best travel film and just flat out one of the best videos, period, I’ve ever seen. I love those people you shared with us and I’ve never even met them, probably never will. Everything about this video is just flat out genuine. That’s the highest compliment I can give. Thank you for making it and thank you for sharing it.
I stopped by Cerro Castillo during my first trip to the chilean Patagonia... such an amazing people!!! They couldn't believe this little mexican girl was walking alone with a giant backpack and dirty shoes... They gave me food, "mate", and made me feel so welcomed... those are the memories that I'll always keep in my heart. It's wonderful how the love for nature makes you meet people from all over the world and get to know a little bit of their lives and culture :). Great video, btw!!!
The spectacular scenery was only surpassed by the honesty of your journey and the reflection and introspection that only these types of challenges can extract. Beautifully done.
Congratulations on the all the people involved in this creation. I think it is a breath of fresh air and such a beautiful, warm, honest movie. Thank you for sharing. Inspiring on all levels and it looks absolutely amazing/badass/epic.
I know it's a 'commercial' channel but the landscape, people and stories told in some of the Salomon TV films are beautiful and a real inspiration. Keep up the good work Salomon!
This has a deep meaning and I completely relate to the message here. There are so many amazing people in this world, with their own stories, working hard to give a decent life to their beloved ones and we often forget about it, as we are flooded with bad news every day. That's what I love when traveling, I can learn and become a better person, thanks to all those who have passed through my life even for the shortest moment.
Beautiful video. It's all about people, connection, understanding different cultures, way of living, language, immersion. It's about respect. Congrats for the video and your word of wisdom!
I am also from Colorado and I am completely obsessed with the idea of going to Patagonia! I can not wait to make it my reality to go there. Thank you for the video. :D
Thanks Dakota, thanks for sharing your journey and experience. It is beautiful and inspiration, feel like I need to put on my shoes and run, awesome 👏👍🏃.
I came across your video and was hoping that you would do more than just show the beauty around you, and when you shared the people more and said that it was they who made it so worthwhile to be there, I liked it. I was about to book a flight - I even reached for my bank card - to book my flights to Puerto Montt last March. And then BOOM. The Chilean borders were closed to reduce the pandemic spread. I am glad you took us through this area, and my only wish is that you return and get to Puerto Varas and Lake Llanquihue`s volcanoes. That is where I will travel and perhaps move next. I loved what you said about how losing the potential of opening other doors is terrifying. I feel the same way. I left the States in 1988, essentially, and I keep opening new doors. Funny how that frightens so many people when it gives me life.
thank you ...some can only dream ..but you bring it to life ....amazing..unseen and untouched ....lets save it for the next explorer ...to know 100 or 1000 years from now a young man or woman can stand where you stand and be so amazed and inspired ...no that's awesome ..good luck to you
What an incredible young man, beautiful story, awesome video... ohhh.. glad to see someone else writing postcards, I'm often called weird for sending postcards nowadays.
Salomon, you guys make movies that are just so awesome. No ego's, no BS, no politics, just great running, fantastic scenery, unique and special athletes and some inspiration for us normal folks. Your movies all have such a laid back feel to them too. It shows how much this modern world affects our souls. We need to get back to nature and what we did before society made us lazy.
Thanks so much Eric. Glad to see our films resonate with other people like you and if that makes you want to go out in nature, then our mission is complete. :)
Cenizas del Alma Got kinda emotional, too... I have this dream recently... This dream of going somewhere far, far away! A lonely place with breathtaking view... A place where being alone feels ACTUALLY GOOD!
Dakota, I'm from Puerto Rico, and live in Texas, I'm planning a trip just like that, your video is helping me, how to do that trip, so I whant to thank you, you need to know about all the people you hel with your video.
Hi Dakota, I just have being in Patagonia, Argentina and Chile. BEautiful scenery, and you are right, it is a huge place that you need a lot of time and lifes to see it all. But thanks to your video and your interest in running you made me travel through the mountains. Good luck!! I would like to share your video with others who cannot travel. Blog de Marissa.
That is an amazing video that I can only say thank you for, my only problem is this, with clearly many, many hours of recording done, this video should have been just the introduction to the series of videos. I know this probably wont reach the people who made this, but PLEASE go back to the cutting board, and starting with Week One of filming produce 5 to 10 Minute segments that you release on a weekly basis, you will have my rapt attention right through to the closing video produced, and judging from the comments below I can say with certainty that I do not stand alone in wanting to see more of your travels, even some of the parts you might think are boring. You have given us a preview to something really amazing - we really want to see the whole series.
Hi! I forgot where I was, in Minnesota, and was in Patogonia, yet also into your mindset, interwoven with elements of journey and purpose! I like what you're about, your way of seeing the world and the virtue of adventure and experiencing environments and people. You are a good writer and liked your voice and words so cogent and lucid. Your film crew, the editing, cinematography, variety of shots and soundtrack too very nice! I liked too how you used the drone! What kind of video camera did you use? It makes me think twice about whether I should start in the south and later the Amazon so that if in my old age I die somewhere in the vast jungle at least I have seen and experienced Patagonia in a major way! Is it possible on $683 a month Social Security to maybe hitchhike and get around the to the places you went to? I might even stay a few months and rent an apartment if that's possible. Are prices high? Is "Salomon some kind of outdoor gear? I need to of course pack light. Thanks for sharing this! I subscribed and look forward to your other adventures and fine film-making!
Hey! If the team who made this video ever read this: This a master piece and my soul thanks you for that.

This reminds me when I backpacked Europe and climbed a mountain next to Matterhorn. It was my first time trail hiking. It was life changing...
Sounds like you had an amazing time in the Alps! :)
What a fabulous movie - stunning scenery and great commentary.

Great film Dakota. Steve was indeed an amazing guy. He was like a second father to me
Year later I watch it again and as good as the first time! Thanks!
Awesome! We hope round 3 will taste just as good too :)
Great guy! It's easy to see how comfortable he is in the mountains because for an introvert, he becomes really animated and chatty! :)
Being an introvert does not mean that you are shy. Dakota is definitely not shy
Morgando Gallivan Most introverts, those I know at least, myself included, tend to be reserved. I get you mean though!
R Gonzales I'm an introvert: but I get very chatty when I'm passionate!
anik monette Agree! Me too!
Good for you and your soul young man. You are brave.
proud of this guy! you've grown and seem to have taken advantage of your gifts! thanks for sharing
