  • More vocals, guitars and drums. Less keyboards and backing vocals.
I also did many volume adjustments, such as in vocal to remove fluctuations, and in crash cymbals.

🥰 Marcs voice, the instruments, dynamics ... all sounds so much better in this mix, then in the original recording... thanks for your mix! 😊👍

I'm quite surprised for the perceived quality too. The sound quality often decreases as one messes with track separations (such as instrumental mixes)

Thank you for this. My favourite slice of Bolan Boogie post 1974. This is one of the very few T.Rex recordings that doesn’t seem to have an alternative take. Bolan’s guitar on this is sublime (it’s not all about solos sometimes it’s the groove). This mix highlights the drums and bass which are overshadowed by the keyboards and backing vocals on the original. Love it!

Agree 100%. No alternative take for this "Calling All Destroyers" also. Thanks for suggesting this song.

@beltanetrex Have you heard Shakin’ Stevens version of Chrome Sitar? Renamed Hey Little Girl and someone rewrote the lyric. Travesty.

@@andrewmorton2430 I heard it briefly when it came out however many years ago but stopped after like 30 seconds when I heard it being lyrically butchered. Bolan would have never released a song simply called "Hey little girl " it's not surreal or strange enough. Plus there's already a great classic early rock and roll song by del Shannon by that name. In any case I love Chrome sitar because it sounds lyrically like something from HP lovecraft and just has an eerie Sci-Fi vibe to it with an incredible melody.

Marc should never have split with Visconti. The mixing on this albumn sounds so tinny. By this time however he was listening to nobody and it unfortunately showed in his work . The abysmal Ride my wheels was such a massive departure from 71/72 that it was hard to keep the faith at times .

Agreed. He shot himself in the foot when he split with Visconti. But it's never easy for people to understand their own limits, especially when coke and booze are involved.

Christ! Hark at you two wise old men! Bolan did what he wanted to do and it was fine by me. Marc and David both managed fine without Visconti. Change can be a good thing.

The new mix sounds alright, but nevertheless Marc had long lost his magic in 1975. I remember the German music mag 'Sounds' releasing a funny review about the album "Futuristic Dragon" and calling Bolan a frog prince.
