- The Sofirn Sc31pro may be considered to be the Sofirn 'flagship' 18650 light but now we have two new lights to consider - full reviews to follow but for now, lets check out the beam profiles...
I have the sofirn SC18
I bought myself a SC18 the SC32 is probably better flood lighting, but I prefer range so I went with the SC18 but both EDC are good can't go wrong with any.
I like the sc18..looks good.
Just purchased the sc 18😊
I prefer the wk03 which is the same light as the sc18. The wk03 is half the price as the sc32.
Is it good though? I'm curious about the performance.
in my country sc18 is 1 -2 usd cheaper than wk03
@@KULAS6463 same here with the sc18, but the sc32 is way more expensive
Sc18 is throwy and floody, much colder color.
The other one is floody and warmer color.
modded mine with a 550 motor heatsink, and im using a samsung 20r for more amps, able to sustain about 1500 lumens, for 4 minutes, with 1200 lumens at the end. great light for what I paid for it (18$)
Sounds interesting, where did you mount the heatsink? Glued?
And does the heatsink have active cooling or just a passive one?
Can’t beat Sofirn for the price and they are good quality. I got the IF22A after your review of it and it is like a laser.
Thanks again for taking the time to do these reviews. 👍
Thanks very much appreciated...
I did get both and the SC32 is handier with the ramping when you want a low power beam setting for indoors and for general all-round use and I like the very responsive tail switch. The SC18 is great too and definitely a better compact thrower for outdoors, cheaper, lighter weight and slightly less bulky than the SC32 but without the ramping. I've since bought my first (budget) head torches. Seems there is a heck of lot of choice and I am finding I like them but then you will need three heads or an extra leg or something when you start reviewing all of those next!
For head lamp, look up the Nitecore NU43, it does 300 Lumens for 15 hours & 600 Lumens for 10 hours on a single inbuilt 18650,
Excellent points. I myself am torn between the SC18 and SC32. Price diff is huge where I am ($12.50 vs $20). But both are still cheap :)
SC18: Much cheaper and stays longer at higher output levels
SC32: Tail switch, ramping capability, and available in 5000K which I prefer over 6500K
Or buy both and it will just cost the same as my old Olight S2A haha..
@@MasterKoala777 I've since bought a pile more. SP33 V3 5k is one I particularly like but I have the newer SP33s and SC33 also. All larger but certainly more capable. SP36 I also bought and Astrolux MC04. Hopefully I have enough now. Mostly I just use my Acebeam Nichia Pokelit at my desk or my Rider RX on my bedside table.
I'm trying to decide on my first edc flashlight. Looking just for general use should the need arise. Torn between the sc18 and sc31. How big a difference are they and which would you recommend ?
I own both and would definitely go for the SC18. It is smaller and lighter than the SC31 and shines a bit more "throwy".
Depends. You like colder color then sc18.
You like throwy then sc18.
You like warmer and floody, then sc31.
Sc18 is better bang for the buck overall.
Can anyone recommend a source for deep carry pocket clip options please? Specifically for SC18, the clip it comes with doesn't work for me...
